85 Shelby Charger

This is owned by Brock Yates Jr, who the article mentions was hosting an annual charity drag racing fundraiser for the McDonalds House, but I can't find anything online about that

I found that Denny Parisan has a charity drag race annually for the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald's House  https://www.facebook.com/ToyDriveAndRaceForRonaldsHouse/  at the Maple Grove Raceway

1966 Ford Thunderbird Town Landau that Carroll Shelby gave to the father of the company’s accountant, ordered by Shelby American with the full options package and modified with Shelby-Cragar wheels, to sell in some special promotion (nothing but rims upgraded from a factory car anyone could order)

one of 10 that were ordered by Shelby American, it was specified in Candyapple Red with black leather upholstery, a 428ci V8 with transistor ignition, power windows and seats, SelectAire air conditioning, a Stereosonic tape system, heavy-duty suspension, rear fender shields, and Highway Pilot Control (cruise control that was difficult, and too unique to have interchangeable parts with other FoMoCo systems, for example, the 66 Thunderbird and 66 Continental have completely different systems and they were built on the same assembly line)

There was only one Mustang SS... the Super Snake, and I just learned the engine in it was pulled out of the GT40 racer that won four successive 24 Hours of Le Mans

The rarest engine to ever feature in an American muscle car is the mighty 427 ci Super Snake V8 featured in the one-off Mustang SS.

Built for a promotional event with tire manufacturer Goodyear, the decision was made to build a special 427 ci V8 for a standard Shelby 500.

Lifted from the Ford GT40 racer that won four successive 24 Hours of Le Mans events, it produced 520 hp. It would never be used again, making it the rarest engine to ever feature in a production muscle car.

the Race Assistance Program in 1967

I don't recall if I ever dove into why the hell Ford named a car, AND a van, a Falcon.

But we all are aware they are repeating that idiocy with the Mustang car and suv. Effing stupid.

1987 DeTomaso Pantera GT5-S that Shelby built for Iacocca, with a twin turbo 340, and it made 900 hp

It was on a 2020 show on Discovery, called Driven, and Galpin got on the show with this Pantera's refurb, with Beau Boeckmann, Dave Shuten and “Mad Mike”

as always, skip the 1st minute

There were two Pantera's were part of Mopar project, one of which was fitted with a 340 "A" series engine complete with aluminum cylinder heads and a twin turbo set up with assistance from Gale Banks Engineering.

Induction is a draw through system via a Holley Carb through to the two turbo chargers to a water cooled intercooler mounted onto the manifold. The intercooler water is fan cooled in what was the a/c condenser. Pending a decision on the future of the project, which was eventually shelved, the car was put into storage whilst the mountain of corporate paperwork was being filed, in the mean time Jim Hensen had spotted and acquired the car, some parts were removed and the car was shipped to England just prior to the order for it to be scrapped. The car was reassembled in a workshop in East Anglia, then moved with it's owner to New Zealand
