Caption - Fall Colors

It's Photo Caption time.

I can't help being amazed by your imagination to both last week's photos.

Anna I just got my wings dyed in the latest Fall colors. How do they look?

Kitchen Flavours : I'm going as Tinker Bell to the masquerade party!

One :  I may have got a little carried away with powdering my nose, haven't I?

b-a-g : It's not easy being green.

Lisa : Do you think this is my best side?

GardenSpot : ET phone home.

Pichu could be enjoying the joke of a flying creature.

Clifford may be attempting to solve his teeth grinding problem during sleep.
What do you think?

You are invited to submit your captions for the last 2 photos.
Selected captions will be posted next Monday with links to your websites.
Comments are definitely welcomed too.

b-a-g : 150 calories! I'll work it out by swinging in the trees for half an hour.

Anna Should I, or shouldn't I? I have eaten 20 already!

Lisa : Kinda plain, don't you think?

MyGardenHaven : Ooh, my stars...this fortune cookie banana says that I am meeting the monkey of my dreams on the day I have my blue eye-shadow on!!!

dogs chew cornstalk

Hootin' Anni : ...and Pandas EAT this daily? Ewwww!

GardenSpot : I got the heavy end, Clifford complains.

GardenWalkGardenTalk : Now, who do we get to limbo? Oh, Pichu...

Pomeranian smiling

This is Pichu, the tiny Pomeranian preparing to limbo...

Kitchen Flavours : Come on, Pichu! Do your limbo. We don't have all day!

Above is a butterfly covered with pollen and below is a praying mantis posing on a flower.

I am looking excitedly forward to your captions for these 2 critters.
Comments are very much welcomed too.

Captions overflowed in last week and it wasn't easy to select just a few.
Do keep them coming  though.

Lisa I do hate these dental check ups!

GardenWalkGardenTalk : When I get bigger, you are losing that finger!

Cathy & Steve : It was just a marble. Keep that up and I'll be right back at ya.

Stampmouse : Yummy rings are good for breakfast. Want it back? You are sooo going to have to wait this one out.

EvoOrganic : Num Num, people fingers.

One :  I told KFC that "finger licking" is "so good" and they changed their marketing phrase.

Heidi : Now I need to find that matching bikini bottoms to this top.

GardenWalkGardenTalk : My bloomers are showing.

Spotted these 2 mynas with ruffled feathers.
What they are saying?

Below is a praying mantis holding a fly.

Caption - Sunglasses Collection

Happy Monday morning!
Thank you once again for your hilarious caption contributions.

Kay L Davies:  Ladies and gentlemen, this is your last call for Flight 123 to Los Angeles. Oh I see... Captain. Hold the plane, the last passenger has just arrived.

Anna : She moved in with me and has taken over the house.

Lisa : Living on the edge.

Bananaz : Is this the corporate ladder my CEO was talking about?

Anna :  Mac & Myer for Hire - Who measured for this ladder? It's your turn to make the next Home Depot run.

Joyce : We better get to it fast before the monkey does.

Miss Kodee : It's your turn to get the cat.

Kay L Davies : Okay, you pollinate that branch and I'll pollinate this branch, then we take a lunch break.

Stampmouse : Never send a fly to do a bee's job.

Anna : Dior's Summer Sunglasses Collection.

Have fun reading, creating new captions and commenting!

Caption - Oops!

I spotted these 2 dogs before their performances in a dog show and they seemed to be in love.
They did kiss other in the next scene which I am not sharing here.

Kay L Davies : Where have you been all my life?

b-a-g : What's a nice dog like you doing in a place like this?

Stampmouse : You had me woof.

GardenWalkGardenTalk : How do you turn on the water?

Autumn Belle : Where's the switch for this lamp?

Kay L Davies : One slip of those scissors and I am finding me another hairdresser!

b-a-g : Ouch! That was my ear!

Anna : Oooppss! Guess I better even up the other side! You didn't really need your ears, did you?

Thank you to all who contributed to the captions.
I appreciate every single one of them including your comments.

3 more photos awaiting your captions.
Would you prefer that the caption game be posted during the end of the week instead of the beginning or would your brains be even more tired then?
I have been finding your captions hilarious so far.

Blue Pansy

According to the Online Encyclopedia, the Blue Pansy (Junoniya orithya wallacei) maintains its territory by driving away other butterflies that enters the area.
This explains why there have been many butterflies fluttering by but they don't stop and pose at the flowers for me.
I had thought it was the praying mantes that have been frightening them away.
Well, who knows, there could be many reasons why butterflies keep playing hide and seek with me.

Notice the blue in its wings changes to purple from an angle?

The blue pansy's wings are kind of torn and tattered.
Has the praying mantis above been nibbling them off?

Black Ants

What do you do when you see black ants in the garden?

It could be a sign that there are mealy bugs nearby.
Take a look.

Do you see a tiny spider on the left side of the Red  Button Ginger?
It may take care of the ants when it eventually grows up.

Alternatively, we could wait for the praying mantis to finish up with the fly and proceed with the ants.

So, what do you do when you see black ants on the plants?

For me, I take out my camera.

Faces in the Garden

There are some strange looking faces in the garden.

They are a little creepy, aren't they?
Comparatively, the faces below seem quite charming.

There are more but I think you have enough of creepy looking flowers and creepy looking bugs.

Since there will be no signs of Spring for me to look forward to, I looked for some unusual faces instead.
I shall let you leave this post with a more pleasant looking face.
Pichu thinks he has the best looking face.

Gratitude

These are today's blooms of Evening Sunflowers.

The seeds were sent to me in December 2010 by Diana of Kebun Malay-Kadazan girls, all the way from Australia.

I am writing to show my appreciation on the effort she took to send me the seeds.
They sure don't look like seeds anymore.

Some of them have grown to be 2m tall, just like what I was told by Diana.
There are many blooms coming up and they are beautifying my garden during this Chinese New Year.

I am thankful that Diana has chosen me as one of her seed giveaway recipients.
I am thankful that the weather here is suitable for Evening Sunflowers.
I am thankful that I have enough space to grow them.
I am thankful that they are blooming during this period of time.
I am thankful that there are praying mantises protecting the flowers.

The praying mantis is thankful that there are ample of food here.
What are you thankful for today?

I must add that I'm thankful for Ann's post today about Let the Sun Flower which features even more delightful sunflower blooms at The Garden Spot.

I'm linking this post to Fertilizer Friday at Tootsie Time.
Thanks to Tootsie for the encouragement to flaunt our flowers.
