The Oscars
I fell asleep about 9:30 last night while watching the Oscars.
Even before I fell asleep Mad Max: Fury Road was ahead in the award count. I was glad to see Ex Machina to get one as well.
Here is the full list of winners.
Chris Rock was awesome.
--Lots of guns in Fury Road. Gotta love Hollywood. They have such a guilty relationship with guns and black people.

From the Internet Movie Firearms Database:
Star Wars
Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens today nationally.
I wonder how soon the complaints and calls for boycotts will start because of all the guns in the movie.
Will these fools be forced by triggers to curl up in the corner out of fear and other stupid reactions of the Pansie culture.
--Remember pansies, Han shot first.

Star Wars
I was watching the new trailer for the next Star Wars movie and noticed something interesting.
There are clearly some guns in there that are built on AR-15 frames. Have a look.
--It is going to be tough getting tickets...

I got to talk with him for a few minutes. Really cool guy in person.
He has been in some of my favorite films. Here is the links from IMFDB.com:
Those are just a few of his many projects.
--He's even reading my book!
Gun Movie: Terminator 2: Judgement Day
I just watched Terminator 2: Judgement Day again. Damn, that movie is so good.

Guns in Planet Hollywood
I went to Planet Hollywood last night for dinner. They have all kinds movie and TV props and other things.
We were seated right next to the handgun that Eli Wallach carried in The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.
It was a Colt 1851 Navy Percussion. It was in great condition and mounted in a glass case.
It wasn't even a prop gun. Think about that. Look at the picture above.
--When will the PC police call to have the display removed...

Monday Random Thoughts
Happy Monday all. I hope your coffee is as good as mine today!
I had a great weekend with friends.
It included a trip to the range. We took a wide variety of firearms for the guys to shoot. Calibers shot included: 9mm, .40, .45 and .44mag. We actually had more than one firearm of each kind. It was mostly handguns but I also took a couple pistol caliber carbines: Beretta CX4 and my Roni Glock 21 SSBR.
After the range trip we enjoyed good steaks, beers, bourbon, Archer episodes and a couple movies. We watched Expendables 2 and Sabotage. Good gun filled flicks!
I am really enjoying having a formal Bench work area to clean guns and reload mags. I now have a computer and a dock for my iPhone! Perfect for music or audio books while I am working.
Next up for range time I am going to sight in several rifles.
--Big fun. Love having the new range so close.

MOVIE: Robocop (2014)
I am still on travel for work and last night managed to stay awake long enough to watch a movie I brought with me on DVD: Robocop (2014)
I actually liked this movie more than I thought I would because I loved the original one so much. Also I heard lots of people say bad things just because he had a Taser in addition to sub machine guns. Just enough plot to keep it flowing but what I really liked were the performances.
Joel Kinnaman did a really good job as Murphy. Gary Oldman made an excellent scientist as Dr. Norton, Michael Keaton was the Omnicorp CEO but the one that really surprised me was Jackie Earle Haley as Mattox. He made a really good bad ass.

There were a lot of cool guns in this movie.
RIP: Eli Wallach
Eli Wallach, who was one of his generation’s most prominent and prolific
character actors in film, onstage and on television for more than 60
years, died on Tuesday. He was 98.
Wallach was still acting even in 2010.
One of my favorite movies is The Good, the bad, and the Ugly.
In that movie Eli taught me to always make sure that your gun is loaded if you are about to get in a gun fight.
--It also taught me, "There are two kinds of people in this world. People with guns and people who dig..."

WANT: Custom Geek Glock
If you love Star Wars and Glocks do they have a project for you.
I saw this on Facebook and Pinterest and a few other places.
Cool idea.

MOVIE: The French Connection
"The French Connection is the 1971 crime drama starring Gene Hackman as James "Popeye" Doyle, a relentless NYPD detective who is determined to take down the infamous drug trafficking ring. The film was directed by William Friedkin and was based on the actual cases investigated by Detective Eddie Egan, who co-stars in the film as another character. Hackman received an Academy Award for his portrayal of Doyle and the film is best remembered for its famous car chase with an elevated train."
I love this classic and own it on DVD. I have to drag it out every now and again.

I enjoyed this movie a lot. It was good on many levels. The characters, plot, casting, pace, effects and directing all made for a great thriller.
It also had excellent firearms.

Lots of guns and lots of action n this movie. It was paced really good for a summer action flick. You do need a large dose of willing suspension of disbelief. In all it was fun.

Movie: Chinatown
Last night I watched the movie Chinatown starring Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway. They were so young!
I love this movie. Classic Film Noir. It was directed by Roman Polanski which ads to the creepy factor of the ending.
It seemed to have more guns than I realized once I looked it up in the Internet Movie Firearms Database:
-- For me the guns shooting people didn't get to me as much as the scene where Jake gets his nose cut by Roman Polanski.

Time for a movie review: Total Recall (2012)
I actually liked a bit better than the original Total Recall.
The pace was fast and the special effects were great. The women were kick ass and hot.
And the guns that were cast were awesome!

World War Z
I saw the preview finally for World War Z.
I really enjoyed the book and I am looking forward to the movie. I will do my best to forget the book while watching. The trailer looks like it will have some major gun love:
--I think that when it comes out we should have a movie night!
