Just saw a KRISS Vector SBR carbine on THE EXPANSE on Netflix.
Love the series.
--Love that gun as well!

The Walking Dead is Back
Thank God for Tivo |
Zombies are old hat for our guys these days.
I posted this pic because as faithful followers of the Four Rules we never see this view of a real gun.
If you look close you can see the bullets in the cylinder of Darryl's revolver. That is a good detail in that prop gun.
In the novel, The Road by Cormac McCarthy, the protagonist carved fake bullets out of wood so this view would be a better bluff when he was out of ammo.
--They should have stayed with the cache...
The Walking Dead
The new season of The Walking Dead is in full swing.
This episode showed the clear folly of not going everywhere armed during an apocalypse. In fact two hand guns and a rifle would be the minimum.
Carol was a total bad ass in this episode. The whole show played out real time as her casserole baked.
Loved it.
--Excellent episode.

The Walking Dead Wants Gun Owners
I saw over at GUNS.COM that my favorite TV show is looking for extras that are experienced gun owners.
I can understand this desire.
If you need to train a mass amount of extras it would save them a pile of time if the people had a basic competence.
It would sure be a whole lot safer. Even though, I do know a few dumb asses that will always sweep the crowd.
Here is the link from Project Casting.
--If I was near there I might be tempted!

Random Thought Friday
Agent Carter - Hayley Atwell |
Charlie Hebdo. Sigh. Hunt those fuckers down please.
The Computer Electronics Show had a small picitinny camera that is linked to an app on your phone or tablet. Sweet.
Marilyn Manson has a new song called 'Cupid Carries a Gun'. I wonder what caliber.
3D printed guns are getting better and better. It's still easier to make bombs at home if you're an asshole.
Nations Gun Show was last weekend. I bought some bulk .45ACP. I need to win the lotto.
I'm still waiting for my suppressors. Dammit.
I bought a huge box classic, yellow, foam rubber, ear plugs.
It's freezing balls outside. Single digit temps with negative double digit wind chills.
--I am going to watch Agent Carter as soon as I publish this post!
NRA Gun Gurus
I was a member of the live audience for two episodes the TV show NRA Gun Gurus Live!
Well, it was filmed before a live studio audience. It did not broadcast live like the Squirrel Report! The episodes will not broadcast until January.
It was really fun to see the process of the show being made. It was hilarious watching the hosts crack each other up or flub their lines.
The show is kind of like the Antiques Road Show for guns! They make it fun for the audience. They had a ton of food and drinks and even desert and coffee. We clapped a lot on queue and the producer was great in the way he worked with the crew, hosts, guests and audience.
They filmed two episodes that evening. They changes shirts and ties between the eps.
It show is sponsored Henry Repeating Arms. Anthony Imperato, President of Henry Firearms, was there as a guest talking about the history of the lever action rifle. He is very proud that Henry Rifles are all Made in the USA. I got a free hat!
These were the last two episodes of the season.
--I will go back if invited again! Big Fun!

Z Nation
I just watched the first episode of the new Syfy show: ZNation
It is a show set three years after the Zombie Apocalyse has hit. A rag-tag group of people are trying get to a specific place in California. No it's an amusement park! The show is violent and raw and not for kids.
The first episode spends a lot of time introducing the characters and the driving plot for the arch the show. It has some potentially interesting characters.
They also have a lot of guns on the show. Good guns. It will be interesting to see if the sniper guys or other characters guns become larger than life.
--The show will be on my weekly Tivo list! I hope it's good.

Sons of Guns Cancelled Hard
I was always amazed that the post on this blog that got the all time most hits was: Sons of Guns Season Starts Tonight
That post alone got 28,000 views.
“Sons of Guns” star Will Hayden has been arrested for aggravated, repeated rape, of a minor, according to documents sent to FOX411 by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.
The Discovery Channel immediately cancelled his series. “Given the serious and horrific nature of the charges against Will Hayden, we have decided to halt further production of 'Sons of Guns' and cancel the series," the network said in a statement.
I will remind the universe that the accused should be considered innocent until proven guilty. That said, it does not look good for him. I hope it's not true. For the little girls sake.
I confess the show jumped the shark for me a couple seasons ago. Too much drama and not enough guns.
--Well now the Hayden's have more drama than they wished for.

Dragon Leatherworks, the Valkyrie
It was really good to see Dennis up and about at the NRA Convention. Not only that, he was wearing a sweet Sunday BBQ holster: the Valkyrie
Quote from Dennis:
"It was a custom request by the prop master at NCIS, specifically for the two-part episode starring Scott Bakula in what may well become a spin-off called NCIS: New Orleans."
This photo does not do it justice. Really beautiful Gator hide, or was it Croc? Dennis told a great story about the materials, eBay, and Scott Bakula wearing it. Also about how his gunshow boot was used as background on the show! Fun stuff. Go check out his web site!
Great seeing you Dennis!
--I hope the spin off happens!

True Detective
I just watched the season finale of True Detective on HBO. I hear the show actually crashed the HBOGO website. It is a really great but totally whacked show. It's very original and extremely adult in themes and images.
The show has a little gun content, handguns mostly. It had a full auto AK and some short shotguns. But mostly it has insanity...
--Horror movies don't scare me. This kind of thing does...

Killer Women
Tricia Helfer as Molly Parker on Killer Women |
This has so many things I love. Sex, violence, action, adventure, beautiful kick ass women that are strong and competent, and some sweet guns.
It stars Tricia Helfer (from BSG!) as Molly Parker the only woman Texas Ranger.
--Check it out!!
My $.02 on Phil Robertson
Let me start of with a little YELLING!
You do have the right to turn off the TV, or watch something else.
Other than that, you are just whining. So I guess I will have a turn at it.
You know what OFFENDS ME?
So what.
I was actually starting to hope that the massive ratings of Duck Dynasty was going to cause the pendulum to swing back to depict families that love each other, families that are successful by working together and winning in the free markets. What!? Capitalism is good, working and playing hard is good!? People that respect their parents and love their children. And don't forget the, Oh NO, positive depiction of Christians, firearms and hunting. Is this why they are going after the show so hard? I believe that the people bitching the loudest don't even watch the show.
Even the fact that a family has an elder with opinions like Phil is positive. We need to be able to still love and respect people with whom we disagree. This country has completely forgot that. Every family has that member. Is anyone surprised by any of this? Think of his generation.
Oh and by the way, I happen to disagree with Phil on homosexuals. A persons sexual preference does not matter to me, unless I want to have sex with them! I'm straight, I'm not narrow. I believe in the rights of the individual. It's no ones else's damn business.
--So if you don't like it. Don't watch the show. Grow the fuck up.

- The Kardashians
- The Jersey Shore
- Honey Boo Boo
- The Bachelor

Guns on Sherlock
Sherlock and his gun as usual |
It really struck me how the show depicts the casual use and possession of firearms by civilians in the UK. It also shows Sherlock casually firing a handgun at a smile face he drew on the wall because he is bored.
The villains are armed all the time. The super villains have teams of snipers with suppressed high power rifles all over London.
So many problems are solved by firearms. Doctor Watson even kills a guy and walks away, never admitting it.
I love that show.
--The BBC really seems to Love guns.
The Walking Dead, Season 3 Premiers
The Walking Dead started back up last night.
I liked it. Here is a list of what I liked:
Got high hopes for this season. Please do no screw this damn season up.
I bet you constantly tell the TV what YOU would do. Here is some of what I would do:
--Fingers crossed for a good season!
I liked it. Here is a list of what I liked:
- Lots of really good Zombie killin.
- Literally rained Zombies.
- Teaching kids to knife fight!
- Body armor.
- Glocks and AR15s.
- Daryl still is a badass.
- Women are treacherous vipers!!
- A Katana is a perfect backup weapon.
Got high hopes for this season. Please do no screw this damn season up.
I bet you constantly tell the TV what YOU would do. Here is some of what I would do:
- Salvage teams have Collectors and Security that work in teams of two.
- Bite proof body armor. including helments.
- They need more military vehicles like the Humvees.
- Need to build a Kill-Truck. A chain link cage on the back. Draw the zombies away from the fence and drop them elsewhere through the cage. You don't want zombies piling up outside the fence.
--Fingers crossed for a good season!
Zimmerman Trial: Halfway
So the prosecution has rested in the Trial of George Zimmerman for Second Degree Murder.
The Miller Opinion:
This should never have come to trial. They NOT prove Murder 2 beyond a reasonable doubt. not even close.
More than half of the states own witnesses testified information that supported Zimmerman's story.
Everyone is saying he is guilty because he should have stayed in the car. Should have stopped following after the 911 dispatcher asked him to stop.
None of that matters because Trayvon attacked him.
The only thing that matters is the question: Was Zimmerman in fear of great bodily harm when he killed Martin.
These photos showing injuries that Trayvon Martin inflicted are enough for reasonable doubt. He was the one screaming for help. His mother and uncle recognized his voice on the 911 tape. Martin's Mother WANTED it to be Trayvon calling for help. You could see it in her face that she knew it was wishful thinking.
The trials prosecution witnesses were ridiculous. The Medical Examiner looked like it was his first time on the stand. Girl admitting to lying again and again, that could not even read the letter she supposedly wrote to Trayvons mom.
All the most credible witnesses so far supported Zimmerman.
Twitter is rampant with calls to riot if he is acquitted. There was even a Riot For Trayvon Facebook page up for a few days until FB took it down. I have even seen threats against the Judges kids if he is acquitted.
I believe Zimmerman is not guilty of Murder in the 2nd.
I believe there is LOTS of reasonable doubt.
I believe he was only charged at all for political reasons.
I believe the prosecution knew they could not prove Murder 2 all along.
I believe this whole trial is not for the jury, it's for the public.
I believe President Obama is partly to blame for this waste of a trial and any deaths that occur from riots.
I believe Zimmerman will be acquitted.
I believe Zimmerman's life will be ruined anyway.
I believe all hell is going to break loose.

Top Sniper II
I have been watching the TV Mini-Series Top Sniper II on the Military Channel.
This is a Documentary about the Military Sniper training competition.
It is NOT one of the new "Reality" TV shows with dumb-ass, fabricated drama and crap.
The series has serious discussions about the tools, technologies and methodologies of the trade.
Check out the vids in the link on line.
--The mostly makes me want to spend a pile of cash on a .338 Lapua Magnum! or .50 BMG.

On DVD: Hit &Miss
I picked this TV series up at my favorite used book shop. They also sell music and movies too.
It is so original I love it. Granted I am only 4 episodes in but it is great so far. I am a very jaded viewer. Always on the look for something original.
This is original.
It has some really good guns too! Even though it takes place in the UK.
Here is the list of guns from the Internet Movie Firearms Database:

The Walking Dead
I watched the Season 3 series premier of The Walking Dead on Tivo last night.
Spoilers Ahead:
First thing I noticed is that they FINALLY took the time to fabricate some suppressors.
There was a TON of Zombie Killin! Yes!
That little kid, Carl, is becoming a badass!
Next thing is one that bugged me. I would have dispatched all the Zombies I could THROUGH the chain link fence BEFORE going in.
I would strip and clean and wear the riot gear. Heavy biker leathers at least.
Katana's are a must have during a Zombie Apocalypse!
Nice leg amputation! Ouch!
--Need to find that armory ASAP!

TV: Falling Skies
I got back yesterday from ten days on the road.
Of course the first thing I do is order pizza and start working on my Tivo queue. I had two episodes of the TNT Sci-Fi show Falling Skies.
"FALLING SKIES opens in the chaotic aftermath of an alien attack that has left most of the world completely incapacitated. In the months since the initial invasion, the few survivors have banded together outside major cities to begin the difficult task of fighting back. Each day is a test of survival as citizen soldiers work to protect the people in their care while also engaging in an insurgency against the occupying alien force"
There are so many guns on this show I can't even list them. Everything from M1 Cabines to Barret .50s. AKs, ARs, handguns, rifles and shotguns. Big and small.
I also like how they are depicted. They are depicted tools. Everyone has them; men women and children. There was even a 9 year old kid on guard duty with a an M1 Carbine. No one blinks an eye at the kid. No bleeding heart mom runs out, demanding he be able to hold onto his childhood as long as possible.
--Guns are security tools. It's how we do out part. Here in real life, too!
