Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

How about those Jayhawk's at the Orange Bowl?

My boss is a huge Jayhawk fan (not to mention Alumni) and his son is currently a sophomore at KU. His son had a biopsy this week - very scary; they are currently awaiting the results, so I used the SCS Sketch Challenge from last week to make a Get Well Card for him. I don't know - it was kind of hard to do. SmileyCentral.com

Anyway, here's the final card; I'm okay with how it turned out; not thrilled, but okay. I had to adhere my 2nd panel pretty low to the bottom as I had an oopsie I had to cover up. I don't think you can see the oopsie, so it's okay. I really struggled with what to add to that panel, so I settled for a yellow bandaid. It's adhered with dimensionals and I punched all those holes in there, just like a regular band aid has! SmileyCentral.com

The 3rd panel with the Jayhawk is also mounted on dimensionals. The 3 white brads are like little buttons, they're so cute! Got those from Michael's.

The outside of the envelope says "Not feeling so hot?"; the inside of the card says "Hope you're back to your "cool" self soon!" I thought that worked well for a college-aged kid - right?

Thanks for peeking in; I hope you have a great week! Hugs, ~M.

Jayhawk Birthday

I am forever making more Jayhawk cards than K-State cards! And after KU beat K-State this weekend; everybody should request one. LOL

I like Jayhawk basketball - but that's about it; for college football, I have to stick with the Sooners (my home state) and the Cornhuskers (hubby's home state).

This was a b-day card made for a friend of our son's; he went to his b-day party at Laser Quest last weekend - talk about fun - they had a blast!!!

I doodled around the edges of the card and also around the bird. I like that doodling business every now and then. :D

We also got a coupon for buy one game, get one free from Laser Quest, so we may have to check it out again, the girls have never been but I know they would love it!

Hope you're having a fabulous weekend; thanks for stopping by! ~M.

Retirement Jayhawk

The CFO of the company where I work retired Friday and loves KU....so of course I had to make a Jayhawk card!

The inside says "Welcome to the seven-day weekend! Congratulations on your retirement." I used SU markers to color in the Jayhawk; there are a few things I would have done differently, but when you start a card at 10:30 p.m., you just 'go with it'!

Hope you're having a great weekend, thanks for stopping by and peeking in!! ~M.

Card Details: SU Yoyo Yellow cardstock, Jayhawk paper, SU Whisper White
Punches: Marvy Giga Scalloped Circle, Marvy Mega Circle
Stamps: Jayhawk, Gina K. Designs Scalloped Frames & Doodles
Ink: SU Real Red, SU Brilliant Blue, SU Yoyo Yellow

Rock Chalk Jayhawk

My boss turned 50 last week and LOVES KU; I think I've done 3 KU b-day cards in a row for him. :)

Can you tell the triangle on the right is a smaller size??? It's all mounted on a white card; the Jayhawk was colored with SU markers.

I ran the inside through the printer and it says "Birthdays are for the birds!". LOL!

We bought a large cake and had the same saying put on the cake and a Jayhawk; it was so awesome.

This was kind compared to the decorating we did to his office - man, there are some funny things out there for milestone b-days. Hope he doesn't figure out I have a milestone b-day approaching!!!

Have a great Friday, thanks for peeking in. ~M.
