Blogger Best Friend Friday Feature! Kristina's World of Books

Photobucket

I haven’t done this feature in a really long time, so I think this month is the perfect time to feature Kristina of Kristina’s World of Books!

I first met Kristina in 2011 at the Smart Chicks Kick It tour in Seattle. There were a lot of really awesome authors at that tour stop, and there were a ton of other people at that event too. And, with us being big-time readers, Kristina and I had a lot of books to get signed. So instead of just standing in the never-ending long line, we sat on the sidelines waiting for an end in sight. While we waited, we started to chat and that’s when I first got to know Kristina!

Almost immediately after that Seattle trip, I started regularly talking with Kristina on Twitter and regularly stalking her blog. Before I knew it, it got to the point where I would call her a friend. And even though I already thought Kristina was awesome, by the time I actually realized how unbelievably sweet-hearted of a friend she is, out of the blue I received a package in the mail from her! She sent me a few books she thought I’d like, including a couple of signed copies of The Mortal Instruments! Isn’t that awesome? Then on several occasions she’s gotten books signed for me at a few of the many events she’s attended! And when John Green had some signed copies of The Fault in Our Stars floating around out there, and I was searching and searching for a copy (and she knew it), she got me a copy! That’s what I call a totally, AWESOMELY AMAZING Blogger Best Friend!

The reason I thought this month would be the perfect time to feature Kristina is because she’s expecting a little Kristina into her World of Books and The Bean is due this month! Check out her post Blogging Hiatus to learn all about it! And it would be totally awesome if you all would stop by Kristina’s blog or tweet her to congratulate her on this new chapter in her and her husband’s life! Congrats Kristina!

Blogger Best Friend Friday Feature - Patricia with Two Chicks on Books

Photobucket

This week on my Blogger Best Friend Friday Feature, I’m featuring Patricia from Two Chicks on Books!

Patricia from Two Chicks on Books is another blogger I can proudly call one of my blogger best friends. But Patricia is a little social media shy, so I really didn’t even begin to get to know her until she, Jaime (the second half from Two Chicks on Books) and I carpooled to the Melissa Marr signing in San Francisco back in June of last year! We had a great time and I also discovered that Patricia and I have very similar taste in books.

Since that first road trip, Patricia and I have attended a few other signings, we’ve met up for lunch, and she even came over to my house last Thursday for book club! I actually ended up feeling a little bad for inviting Patricia for book club on a Thursday, because she missed The Vampire Diaries and The Secret Circle! Sorry Patricia!

Patricia is very sweet, I feel like I can tell her anything, and I truly trust her like a best friend. I truly realized that I was more than lucky to have her as my BBF when she sent me a very thoughtful gift with a very sweet, sincere and very personal message for Christmas. I’m pretty sure I even cried a little bit. It is one of those types of gifts that are so special and personal that you wouldn’t want to share it with anyone.

If you can already call Patricia your blogger best friend, you too are very lucky.

Blogger Best Friend Friday Feature - Jaime with Two Chicks on Books

Photobucket

This week on my Blogger Best Friend Friday Feature, I’m featuring Jaime from Two Chicks on Books!

Jaime was one of the first bloggers I could truly call a best friend when I started blogging. And guess what? She’s a local!!! I don’t quite remember when I started stalking Two Chicks on Books because Jaime and I actually started our friendship on Twitter. But even before I REALLY started stalking her, I already noticed that Jamie had a ton of pictures with some of my fave authors…and, boy, was I ever green with envy! And, yes, I definitely made a point to tell her that! Yeah, I’m always pretty vocal about my envy…LoL.

Right about the time Jaime and I both discovered that we lived near each other, I asked Jaime if she was going to attend the Melissa Marr signing in San Francisco. And, that was all it took! Jamie might just as well have told me that she wouldn’t miss it for ANYTHING in the world (I think she said something like, “Hell yes I am!”) because she totally adores Melissa so we decided to carpool! Several of my friends at work were utterly terrified that I would go on a trip to San Francisco with a couple of girls I only just met online. Of course, I totally laughed it off because I already felt like I was gaining a great friend and thought Jaime just seemed way too sweet to be someone who’d want to chop me up into little pieces. He!he!he!

The Melissa Marr signing was the first time I met Jaime in person, and we had a fabulous time! Not only did I find my first blogger best friend, but ever since then we’ve tried as often as possible to attend author appearances together. And the best event we’ve attended that was all sorts of AWESOME is when we traveled to Seattle to see a bunch of our favorite authors at The Smart Chicks Kick it Tour!

Another reason (one of many!) that I consider Jaime my blogger best friend is that she ALWAYS tries to keep me in the loop with anything exciting in the blogging world! She will try to include me in anything she thinks I will enjoy, and she always keeps me informed about local events that come up. She even knows that I tend to forget (in the chaos of my life!) about TV shows she knows we both enjoy watching, so she will even tweet me to remind me that The Challenge will be starting soon! Now, that is truly a blogger best friend for you!

And, on a more personal level, Jaime has always been there to answer her phone when I really needed to vent about some drama in the book blogging world. And, more importantly, Jaime has always been there when I really needed to talk to someone about the craziness in my personal life (without judging me), and she’s really helped me feel like I’m not crazy.

If you can also call Jaime your Blogger Best Friend, then you are also very lucky. And, if you don’t know Jaime, you need to get to know her because over and above everything I’ve already said, Jaime TOTALLY ROCKS!

Check back next week for my next Blogger Best Friend Friday Feature! I will be featuring the OTHER one of Two Chicks on Books.

Blogger Best Friend Friday Feature - Fiktshun

Photobucket

Fiktshun button by parajunkeeWelcome to my
Blogger Best Friend Friday Feature!
And the very first blogger I want to feature is Rachel from [Fikt]shun.

As I'm sure most of you already know; Rachel TOTALLY rocks! Not only does Rachel have multiple blogs, but she always throws awesome giveaways and she’s very supportive of Indie authors. I stalk her blogs every day because I love each and every one of her topics and I read each post from start to finish. Not only do her topics rock, but what makes her an especially awesome Blogger BF to me is that several times, totally out of the blue, she’s sent me completely unexpected, fabulous gifts in the mail!

As you can tell, I heart Rachel! I could go on, and on about all the reasons why Rachel rocks, but the MAIN reason for this blog post is that I wanted to share an AWESOME short story that Rachel wrote called The Cop and the Kilt! Uh huh, not only is Rachel a blogger par-excellence, but she’s an accomplished short-story writer too! And guess who’s the star in The Cop and the Kilt? ME!!! Yay! So, OF COURSE, I need to boast, and boast, and boast some more about why this meant (and means!) soooo very much to me!

First of all, I totally needed this awesomeness to bring me out of my funk! I've been going through a tough patch in my life over the last few months and one day, when I was having a particularly crappy day, I was reading another really funny short story Rachel wrote that had me giggling so hard I was literally crying! So, of course, I jumped onto Twitter and started chatting with her about it. Then, for some reason, the conversation turned in a new direction *grins* and we started tweeting about a guy with rock hard thighs in a kilt…and a cop (me!) having to frisk this guy in his kilt! So, after chatting with me, Rachel told me she was going to write this story up and, BAM!, the next morning I had a link to this totally awesome, short story! Woot! Woot!

The Cop and the Kilt was truly one of the best gifts I've been given in a REALLY long time! And it truly made my day…no, wait, my month...no, WAIT, my whole freakin' year! And, I’ve really wanted to share this story with you all for quite a while now, but I've also wanted to keep it as my own little secret to cherish for as long as I could. But the story is waaaay too good to keep to myself, so head on over and check out Rachel’s fabulous short story here: The Cop and the Kilt. PLUS! She also has a couple other really funny stories over there you should check out too.

Here are a few of her other AWESOME blogs!
