Distress Ink and Brayer Watercolor Background

Good morning! Dropping by this morning with a card using an ADORABLE new Unity Stamp image - I mean, REALLY adorable! These otters are about as cute as it gets!

The other day I came across my rubber brayer in my supplies, and realized it had been a long time since I used it. Soooo...I played around with it to make a sort of "ink smooshed" looking background using it - and made a Quick Tip Video of the process:

I love how the look is very similar to ink smooshing, but a little more controlled which is nice.

Added some die cut layers, cut the sentiment with a speech bubble border die, and colored that cute otter in with Copics - this card is also nice and flat for mailing!

Product links are all below - including affiliate links where possible, which simply means if you use one of the links below that I receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!!!

Welcome another hop with Unity Stamps! Tonight we are celebrating the new {be inspired} Challenge - and the new sentiment kit - super fun for planning ahead for Valentine's Day, weddings, anniversaries, or just to let someone know how much they are loved! I used the color and sketch challenge to make a couple cards with the new kit - first up this wedding card:

Here is the color challenge - so vibrant and pretty!

LOVE how this one came out! I think the colors work so well for a wedding card!

Here is the sketch I followed for this one:

A touch of Glossy Accents to highlight the bird and hearts.

Blog Birthday Giveaway #4- My Favorite Things

Good evening!!! So - this little blog is celebrating FIVE years this month - on October 20th!!! I can hardly believe it has been that long, and yet in some ways I don't remember not doing this. I have been SOOOO incredibly blessed by all the amazing people I have met through this hobby - and so incredibly lucky to work with some AMAZING products and companies. To celebrate I have lined up TONS of giveaways from some of these amazing places. HUGE thanks to each of them for their generous donations of prizes - I'm super excited to be able to share them with you!

Tonight I am so excited that My Favorite Things provided a $25 gift certificate for me to giveaway! Woohoo!!! They are right in the middle of the new release countdown, so this is perfect timing! I have been a fan of MFT for quite some time - I think I have one each of their dye inks and coordinating cardstock (although I see that there are more with this new release, so looks like I will be adding to my collection!); I also love their versatile dies, adorable stamps, lovely stencils, and wide assortment of fun embellishments and supplies! I had a great time early this year getting the chance to guest design for their Challenge and Inspiration Blog, headed up by none other than Susan Opel - beloved in the craft industry partly due to her previous role with Paper Crafts Magazine. Susan is such a cheerleader - it is so fun to join in with that community! And the challenges are always inspiring - I actually played with two of them for my card tonight!

I colored these little bears up and made this card on World Cardmaking Day - I wasn't expecting to have time to make a card since we went hiking as a family that morning, so when we got home in time for me to finish TWO cards - I was super happy! The other one I will be sharing soon - so stay tuned!

First up, I used the current Sketch Challenge:

I also combined it with the Color Challenge:

Had to play along another challenge as well - so linking this up with Virginia's View Challenge - All Things Colored:

I started off with the cute little bears from Birdie Brown's Birthday Bears - stamped and colored them and fussy cut them all out. Die cut the panels using Rectangle Cross Stitched Die-namics, then assembled my card with some foam adhesive and some Kraft cardstock. Added a bit of Glossy Accents and Wink of Stella to some places, and finished off with some Pretty Pink Posh sequins (carried in the MFT store conveniently!) in Cobalt and Silver Stars

You can see the Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents a little better in this photo:

You can enter the giveaway below using Rafflecopter - this is my first time using this method for a giveaway, but since I have so many to do this month I thought it might help make it easier! So - if there are any bumps along the way, please forgive me as I figure them out?

All giveaways will stay open until the 20th (the official birthday date!) and I will announce all winners that day! If you already follow on Pinterest, Youtube, or Facebook - feel free to leave your name for each day of giveaways, no need to be a new follower only!

Have a wonderful day - and good luck!

Unity SOTW - Days Like This

Good morning! I'm posting over on the Unity blog this morning using the brand new Stamp of the Week!

Here is a look at this brand new stamp - Days Like This:

Stamp of the Week is so fun - you get a special and unique stamp delivered to your door every week - for only $5.79 (includes shipping!) - or $7.79 if you're international. I colored this up with Copics, then added the word "love" to the sentiment with some tiny alpha stickers. Tucked some Basic Grey pattern paper and a doily behind, and added a paper clip, some jute twine, an enamel heart, and a few splatters of ink to finish it off.

Crinkled Tissue Paper Backgrounds

Good morning! Sharing a bit more Unity Stamps release fun - with the cute new Lulu stamps. She is the CUTEST! I also have a Quick Tip video below on that crinkled tissue paper background:

Here is the video - it's really easy peasy, but I had to share it!

I used a MFT die for the background, some watercolors and watercolor paper, some Crate Paper pattern paper, and a few enamel dots.

I also made another card with the same technique, and another of the Lulu stamps:

Pretty much the same supplies - they are so easy and fun to color!

These are part of the new releases at Unity Stamps - cute little Lulu:

Here is Aw Shucks, Lulu:

Sending Holiday Wishes - Unity SOTW

Good morning! It's Sunday, so that means there is a brand new Stamp of the Week at Unity Stamp Company - and this week is a lovely Christmas image! Here is my card with it:

Here is a look at this brand new stamp - Poinsettia Wishes:

I wanted to go a little bold and different with my color combination - and had fun coloring it with my Zig Clean Color Brush Tip pens. The circle is die cut with a MFT die, and I added some October Afternoon pattern paper, some washi tape, a few enamel dots, and stapled the sentiment on with my Tim Holtz tiny attacher.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!
