Unity FWF - and Runway Inspired

Good morning! Stopping by with a card this morning for Unity FWF using the lovely Donna Peony stamp set - LOVE the huge flowers and what great focal point images they make!

I also used this photo from the current Runway Inspired Challenge as my inspiration:

My sentiment came from the February Kit of the Month - love this sentiment! I used my brand new MISTI to help line up the flower - LOVE it for this! Added some gold Smooch Glitz on the center of the flower, added some splashes of Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Gold, a bit of machine stitching, and a few Pretty Pink Posh gold sequins - all layered on some Crate Paper pattern paper.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you are having a wonderful Friday!

MCS June Release Hop and Giveaway!!!

Good morning! The day has finally arrived - all the new release stamps and dies are now available at My Craft Spot - and we are celebrating the new release with a fun hop full of inspiration, as well as a giveaway at each stop! You should have arrived here from Saundra, one of our fabulous guest designers for this release - if you just happened along, make sure and head over to the My Craft Spot blog to start at the beginning - with a giveaway at each stop, you don't want to miss any of them!

Here is my project for today, using the brand new Music stamp set - which also happens to be the one you have a chance to win just by leaving me a comment!

I still just cannot get enough watercolor - and this card was so simple and quick to make. I simply stamped the music notes 3 times, masking off one side on the last stamp and slightly staggering them so they weren't lined up too perfectly. I did an ombre effect by making the watercolors  darker on one side, then fading them out as I went across the card. Added the sentiment, some Black Twinery Twine, and a PTI button. Once the watercolor dried, I added a little sparkle with some gold Smooch Glitz.

So...your next stop in the hop is Ally - but don't forget to leave a comment before you leave for a chance to win this new set that I used today:

Here is the entire blog hop line-up in case you get lost along the way:

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!!!

Runway Inspired Birthday Card

Good afternoon! I meant to post this earlier today - but somehow the time got away from me!

I made this for the current Runway Inspired Challenge:

I didn't notice until I was done that I missed the blue shades in the dress, but oh well! I made a watercolor background by just swiping my brush across the paper. Once that dried, I heat embossed Unity Stamp Co. Candles and Cake {wit and wisdom} stamp over the top.

I used some pattern paper from American Crafts for the background, and flicked some watercolor paints on it to pull together the colors on the front, as well as some black Heidi Swapp Color Shine. Matted everything in black, added some gold Smooch Glitz to the edges of everything, and added some jute twine topped with a cute little bow from Michael's that I picked up recently.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful afternoon!

Black, White, and Gold - Unity FWF

Good morning! Happy Friday - and Unity Friends with Flair time. I'm sharing a couple tags using the current January Kit of the Month - apparently I was on a gold, black, and white theme without knowing it! Here is the first one:

I used a tag I had cut a while back with my Silhouette Cameo, and stamped the butterflies on there with some new Memento Luxe ink I had picked up and was itching to try. I let that dry really well so it wouldn't smudge, then stamped the sentiment using Delicata Gold ink and hand trimmed it to a banner. I added some white stitching with a gel pen, some gold ribbon I picked up last fall at Michaels and hadn't used yet, and added some gold sequins. Finished off with just a touch of Smooch Glitz in gold on the centers of the butterflies.

The next one is definitely a more soft and rustic feel - I had a little something I wanted to mail to my sister, so I decided to decorate it up fun!

I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment, then heat embossed the stars with gold Zing embossing powder. I smeared some white pigment ink over it to give it a chalkboard look (*might* have overdone that a bit...oops!) - then added some Baker's twine before attaching it to my burlap bag.

I am also linking up this second tag to the Trendy Star Power Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you are having a wonderful Friday!
