Followup to Letters.

Working really hard in my craft room on these letters.  Even on Halloween in my costume.

Here are the completed letter boxes.  It was so cute how they filled them with mints and put one box on each place setting alternating L and J for the bride and groom.  I am so happy to have helped make someones wedding a bit more special.

Greeting Card Gift Box - Tutorial

Box Tutorial - This box is from the Bus Tour Make & Take.  Everyone that came to the store for the Bus Tour at Craft Fancy last  month made this and a couple of cards to slip into it!  We had a lot of requests for the instructions so here goes.

Start with one piece of Cardstock 8 3/4" x 7 1/2"  Score all four sides at 1 1/2".

Next cut a piece of Patterned Paper at 7 7/8" x 6 5/8"  Score all four sides at 1".

Fold on all the score lines on each piece.  Then on each corner of both pieces snip one side up to the score line.  Remember only one side of each corner square.

Add double stick tape to each corner square on both the base and lid of the box.

These squares will be adhered to the inside side panels.

Both Pieces are now complete.

Embellish and decorate as desired.    This box holds A2 Cards and Envelopes and would make a perfect gift!

Box Full Of Goodies

So for a holiday gift exchange for a club I belong to we needed to create something to exchange.  I love handmade gift exchanges.  This was my contribution to the exchange.  The box was Paper Mache that I painted and embellished with the Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante line of paper and some vintage jewelry and embellishments I had lying around.  The candy inside the box unfortunately was not handmade but very yummy anyway.  I had fun making this I hope the person that got it enjoys it as much!

Get your gear ready!

Off to school they go!  I tried really hard not to cry this morning when I took them to school.   I don't know why I get so choked up on the first day of school?  They were so excited they didn't even know I was there.  I have to go to work now and then it's off to pick up my Mom she'll be getting to her hotel around the time I get off work!  The girls can't wait to see her!   I can't wait to see her!  Ok so I'll probably be away from the blog with all the partying that will be going on around here this weekend.

I wish I had been more proactive about making gifties for the teachers for the first day this year?  I didn't have time so I've resurrected this photo from last year!  Gotta find time to do something nice for the teachers.

Getting Ready For School

From my Back To School Fun class coming up this Saturday!  We'll be making this and filling it with cute coordinating goodies!

Power came back up last night around 7:30ish!  Phew!  Thank goodness!

More getting ready for school got some new clothes for the girlies today.  We really only need a couple more things!  The girls are getting excited!

Perfect for some Jewelry(hint hint hint)

Or even a little chocolate!  Love how this little paper mache box turned out with the metal embossing!

Let it Snow Let it Snow Let it Snow

Cocoa Holder - Stampin Impression Obsession, Colored with Copics, Cardstock Bazzill, Ribbon Wired Craft Ribbon, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Fiskars hole punch.

It's time to break out the Hot Cocoa. There were snow flurries while I was out dropping off the kiddos this morning. Brrrrrrrr. The kids are dancing this weekend at the Celebration of Lights so that will be exciting. I plan on finishing my holiday decorating just a little more to do and I'm hopefully going to start wrapping presents as well we need to get some things under the tree.

Lots of things happening at work. Besides Techniques I also have a 2010 Calendar class and a Layout class I'm really excited about.

Dave started physical therapy about a week ago. It's already been over a year since the accident and surgery to correct the nerve damage to the left side of his face. The physical therapy really seems to be working. Or maybe it's just in my head?

Mom is hosting the Holidays this year. The girls are so very very excited! Can't wait for Christmas break!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

I'm ALLLL ALONE!

I'm in the house all alone. It's weird. I mean I have been over the summer for an hour here or there while the kids were at friends, but I was trying to get everything done in that hour I didn't even notice. It's just strange! Today I have a ton of errands after my hair appt.(which I could make at a real salon on a weekday very exciting). I've just never been alone for this length of time in the last 9 years. It's sooooooo quiet!

So they got off to school great well except for the rain. No cool outdoor first day of school photos, bummer. Emily was a trooper offering to help get her sister to her locker and show her what to do. She's really good at being the mom when I'm not around. Abbi seemed a little nervous but a little excited. My future son-in-law is in her class though so that's exciting they were separated last year. I was helping his mom with the Spirit Wear Table yesterday and when he and his mom went to meet the teacher he yelled back to Abbi "I Love You Abbi". It was the cutest thing ever. I laughed, I'm bad, I couldn't help it. She finally covered my mouth up and told me to STOP IT!!!! Emily's teacher seems amazing I met with her after all of the chaos and it seems like the 4th grade team is really excited about this year. Abbi's teacher, I didn't really get a chance to talk to it was crazy in the 1st/2nd grade rooms due to the change but I'm sure we will get to know her. And I might add it took me awhile to figure out where she was in the classroom. She's very tiny and when surrounded by parents you can't see her! I have heard wonderful things about both teachers so I'm looking forward to a great year this year for both girls! So this was the little start of school giftie I made for the teachers. They are filled with Kisses because I'm sure after this week they will all need some chocolate to get by! I found the pattern and instructions for this over at Splitcoast Stampers. The stamp is A Muse and The paper is BoBunny(doubledots) and Stampin Up. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day. I'm off to get my hair cut!

Nice Weekend

We had a nice Holiday weekend. Great weather for the first couple of days so the girls were outside with the new slip n' slide and then Dave put up the pool and they filled it with water. Ice cream cones and BBQ chicken it was all good. Friday Dianne and I headed over to Paulas to crop. We giggled all night and even got lots of work done. Of course Paula made slushy cosmo drinks so that didn't damper the giggling any. Luckily Seth was the only one home and found us quite amusing I think. The girls Sleepover and Sleep under were huge success'. Although on Sunday they were both quite exhausted and we had a couple of moments.
Monday Dave headed to Manteno and did his Memorial Day thing ending with a Parade and lunch given at the American Legion. He had a great time. And he was home by 1:30 so we still had family time! So we did a movie and dinner out. We watched Bolt. It was so cute. I think everyone enjoyed it, even Dave who said he wasn't interested.
There was a phone call to Uncle Cris to sing him Happy Birthday which made them giddy right before bed last night! Happy Birthday Cris!!!!
Oh I almost forgot about the project pictured here. This was Emily's teachers, Staff Appreciation gift. She loves Cows so I paper pieced these cows from one I found at SCS using SU punches. I then found a pattern for the mini shirt box and stamped red and kraft paper with a wood grain stamp and cut out my barn like pieces to cover the box. The cards use a wheel which wheeled and colored with Copics. I just added the paper pieced cows to scallops to cover the candy, the teachers favorite kind of course. Then tied everything up with twine and added a little thank you note. This was a fun project I had a good time making it and I think she really liked it.
Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday. I have to keep reminding myself it is not Wednesday!

My sad sad neglected blog!

Hi Bloggy I'm back. I missed you. We're almost officially done with well everything for summer. I can hardly believe. Dance recital 1 is over recital 2 is mid June. School is winding down we have Field Days and maybe a little ice cream party for the Kindergartners since we have leftover party money. Field days of course and the end of year bashes that will ensue I'm sure and our annual movie on the last day! Beyond that the kids and I are heading to Nashville

with Dianne later in June. That's the big excitement! Well that and Pool passes in hand and a full summer to hang out and do what we want each day! Woo Hoo! Hopefully we'll get to Michigan and downtown a couple of times and the girls will do Dance Camp this summer. Then that's it their both in school all day every day! I think Abbi is ready she is finding it harder and harder to be entertained at home by herself, well I'm here but you all know how boring I am! HA

Ok so this little project here today is the gift we gave Abbi's teacher for Staff Appreciation at school. It was a stationary set in the little bag and some pretty matching chocolate since everyone needs candy of course. I didn't realize I never took a picture of the entire thing together tied up with a bow. OOOPS! But there were six cards 2 of each style.

Abbi picked out the colors I should use and then I found this lovely Anna Griffin paper and some 7 Gypsies that went with my floral stamps!

It was a fun project I need to perfect the bag I would love to make a larger one to hold more. This one only holds about 6 cards and envelopes if your using embellishments like ribbon on them.

What's next this weekend? The girls have plans various days for the holiday weekend. They are running constantly or at the very least having friends over every chance they get. We're hoping to get to the racetrack this weekend it's been open a couple of weeks now so we're itching to go. Paula is having us over to scrap tomorrow so that will be fun. I can't figure out what snacky to make and bring. And Dave is doing a Parade and American Legion visit on Monday.

So that's it for now. Have a safe and Happy Holiday Weekend!
