Challenge #18 - Quirky Home Sweet Home.

Hi everyone! Here's Kemly!

We have a new challenge in Quirky Crafts Challenges!

Our theme challenge is:
http://foreveramber.typepad.com/keepingitrealtor/page/26/

We want to see in your projects everything about your house or your dream house.
For example: a nice house, a window with flowers, in front of a beautiful house , a warm room, the warmth of home. Everything that reminds us of our home.

Our Sponsor for this challenge is:

http://www.thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/

Our sponsor has generously provided two file sets for the Design Team

and the Guest Designer to showcase, and three wonderful prizes too.

Files sets come in several formats and can be used in various creative options, you can use them on electronic cutting machines or print and cut by hand.

The prizes are:

1st Prize: 3 sets from The Cutting Café store.

2nd Prize: 2 sets from The Cutting Café store.

3rd Prize: 1 set from The Cutting Café store.

For some inspiration you share our projects:

GUEST DESIGNER

MARTHA

Martha made such a cute little house full of love using the 3d Houses file set, look at those roof tiles. We love it Martha!

DESIGN TEAM:

For me the perfect house is full of windows, light and air, so for my project I choose "Window Sill Shaped Card" cutting files, provided by our generous sponsor.

For my project I made a WINDOW SILL SHAPED with many colorful flowers, thanks to our sponsor THE CUTTING CAFE

To my project I used 3D House Set.
I made  a little house of dreams, full of flowers and some details with pink crystals representing small candies, such as sweet  should be a home .

For this week, I chose the 3D House file, from our amazing sponsor The Cutting Cafe. Come to my blog for more detail.

Cazzy will be along later - once she has mastered her new machine! Well that took a little longer than I hoped, but here I am!
Here it is at last, and probably could be better but not bad for a start. I made the smallest house from 3d Houses, and didn't make it open. I've added mosaic for the path, little flowers and dots of pink Liquid Pearls. I added lace round the box base and ric rac to the house.

Side view....

...back view with "gravel" path. the ric rac isn't quite right, looks worse now I see the photo!

Hello...Myriam here with our new challenge post for you,
so hope you can play along with us....

I am sad to tell you that this is my last challenge with the Quirky Crafts team, I am leaving due to other commitments. I have really enjoyed this whole experience with the design team and obviously I learned a lot. I want to say thank you to the team for giving me the opportunity to share my ideas and to have been able to improve with every challenge!!!

Gabriela will be taking my place on the Design Team from challenge 18, she has been a great 2 month Guest Designer, and we will need another 2 month guest designer so if you are interested please let Cazzy know.

Now this week our challenge theme is:
Quirky Embossing

Requirements: Any kind of project with Embossing folders or dry embossing - any type of embossing will do - even fake embossing using die cuts.

GUEST DESIGNER

Using Sweet Pea Stamps Cherry-Blossom by Helena Reiss Crafts-Too Dotd embossing folder and Frantage embossing powder.

I made an ecological setting for my card, I used the image MOLLY HARRISON LITLLE GIRL from our sponsor  SWEET PEA STAMPS and my tree stump is embossed with an embossing  folder.

DESIGN TEAM

For my project I made this tag with the digi Watermelon Margarita
from our sponsor Limited Runs Stamps. The image was coloured with colors pencils. I used an embossing folder to emboss dots on my background.

For this new challenge, I worked a card. I used a dots embossing design all around the card with not very homogeneous lines. The image that I used: BD Shark Cupcake from Limited Runs. I used the Paper Piecing technique; then I used a wide blue ribbon and a sentiment The sentiment is in Spanish, because I plan to give this card to a special friend.

For my card I used embossing folders with distress inks and  "Art Deco Flower", digi provided by our sponsor Limited Runs.

Hi everyone! For my card, I used "Vintage Cupid", of our sponsor Limited Runs. On my card I used embossing folders with different designs and effects.

I used Limited Runs Birds on a wire and Bird House, and gave them a background using embossing folders that were free with a magazine, there are three of them, and I enhanced the embossing with chalks.

This beauty is Helena Reis's Dia de los Muertos from Sweet Pea Stamps, I think she is gorgeous! I used a Sizzix Tim Holtz cracked glass embossing folder with Coordinations paper sanded to reveal black.

Winners for challenge #16 Quirky's gone fishing.

It's winner's time, and we had a lot of fun with this challenge. We only had 10 entries but they were all good ones, and it is Summer holiday (vacation) time in the UK and elsewhere which probably affected entries a little.

To remind you we were generously sponsored by:

Who provided some great images to the team to show you and have provided all three prizes to our top three.

So here are our top three as voted by the team:

In first place we chose Stampartpapel with a very fishy card, loving those cut outs.

Congratulations  Stampartpapel, you have won  3 digital images of your choice .

In second place we chose Twisted Witch with this brilliant fisherman card complete with hooks, lures and netting and it is stitched round the edges too. Great sentiment and detail.

Congratulations Twisted Witch, you have won 2 digital images of your choice.

In third place we chose Nanna Connie with this very amusing pelican card. Loving the fish peeping out of his crop!

Congratulations Nanna Connie, you have won 1 digital image of your choice.

I've decided to make a new badge and that is for the DT's personal favourite entry, because we all vote differently (well not all of the time) sometimes our favourite entry doesn't make top 3, sometimes it does.

I would like to say my personal favourite entry which didn't make the top 3 was from:

I can't give you a prize sadly, but I can send you a special badge and you are invited to be a guest designer too.

Well done everyone who entered and congratulations to our top three. Please all of you contact me (Cazzy) using the email link or the contact form in the sidebar. I will send your personalised winner's badge and if you tell me your choice of digital images I will pass them to our sponsor for you.
We would love all three of you to be our guest designers in the next challenge, please tell me you can!

Thank you to everyone who entered, and don't forget to check back later today to find out about our new challenge!
