Hi Quirky peoples! It's
Lyn here this week, trying to think of a challenge we haven't had for ages, so how about...
Fold It!
Yes, I want to see
more than one fold on your creation, in fact the
more folds the merrier! So that's easel cards, gate cards, those sliding swinging cards, Z
cars, I mean, Z cards, or one of those
W thingamejig cards or even if you're feeling clever how about a
carousel card! Pop back to Challenge 11 and see
Monica's fabulous carousel card. Or if you feel you can't manage that, try using double sided paper, and folding down a corner or two! And if you don't want to make a card? Well that's okay, just make sure whatever you make, has...
More Than One Fold!
Easy!
This fortnight we are sponsored by....
Some of us have been given
Pirate things to play with!! Yo ho ho!! (and a bottle of rum!) and some of us have had
other things to play with, like...bikes! (there's a link somewhere...oh yes, they are all made by
The Cutting Cafe'. This is what we've done with them.... First we have our Guest Designer...
Helen used Ahoy Matey for her great box card, Helen said she doesn't normally do cute! Didn't she do well!
(I love those skulls in the background!)
Well done Helen! That's fantastic!! And now on to the rest of the Design Team....
I used these adorable bikes rather than the pirates, to create this quirky mandala in my art journal. I used folded paper and dimensional paint to make it (quite literally) stand out from the page. There's only one problem... now I can't close my sketchbook without damaging my petals!
This time what I did was a Pirate invitation birthday party, using the file
AHOY MATEY PRINTABLE SET.... courtesy of
The Cutting Cafe'. I trace and cut the hats, enlarge the cross bones, I gave shade and dimension. Additional, I used a sweet sailor on the inside of the card
Monica
I made a box with a pull out photo strand with multiple folds. I called it My Pirate`s Treasure.
For the front I used the cross bones digi from The Cutting Cafe Collection, Ahoy Matey.
Inside,
you will first find a warning: Beware, another digi from The Cutting
Cafe collection. And then you will find My Pirate`s Treasure: my kids
Sofi and Jota, wearing pirate´s costumes.
I used an effect on the pictures to give an older look.
It's a handbag invitation which consists of just 2 folds! On the inside I stuck a green backing paper that has smallish butterflies on it & then added the image from The Cutting Café called "Take a ride" then I added a tree with "rest stop" on the sign to the image. Lots more details and pictures on my blog.
I made a side step card which turned out better than these have before. I used Lets Go for a Ride images and sentiments.
To down view showing the star papers inside. I just need to add a panel to the back to write on now.
I made a box! (No you didn't you fibber!)Yes I did! I just didn't cut it out, it was a RAC gift. I inked all the folds with Vintage brown, then once I'd printed out all the bits and pieces, sentiments, digi's and backing papers I wanted to use, I inked them too. Added Key hole brad and key and other bits. Here's the back...
Now, if you take off the band/sleeve that keeps it closed, it looks like this inside...
Filled with Golden Toffees!
Then I had another idea and ate the toffees and made a litte book instead...
and filled the book with little tags and more sentiments. There's room for small photo's later!
One of the tags is a fridge magnet. (which doesn't count in the challenge on it's own as it only has one fold, the ribbon loop, but make a loopy ribbon flower, and yay that would count!
Well, that's what we've done! So now it's your turn! Can't wait to see what you all come up with!!
