Christmas Bear

Good morning! I hope you all had a WONDERFUL Christmas!! We had a really nice Christmas with the family. Michael had to work on Christmas day, so I took him down to see my sister and mother on Christmas Eve. He opened all his gifts and was able to spend time with them. Bailey is in California of course, with her father. On Christmas Day, we dropped Michael off at work and then headed down to my sisters. We spent a lot of the day down there. We had lobster tails and steak for dinner. It was beautiful! Then we headed home, thinking that we had to pick up Michael a little after 4 pm. He didn't get home until much later.

Then on Sunday night my oldest daughter came back. She had an eye appointment yesterday. She has some holes in her retina which can cause a retinal detachment if not treated. She will need to get laser surgery on her eyes. She also has to do some special testing on her eyes. She is going to Colorado right after the 1st of the year, so her test is set up for the 12th after she returns. Then the first eye will have surgery on the 26th and the 2nd eye will be done on February 9th. She has always had terrible eyes.

And after spending the day with Taylor I realized she has this terrible cough. When I asked her how long she has had it she says.. a while! So I told her I was going to try to get her in to see the doctor today. I'm just waiting until they are there to call in. I'm hoping they can get her in this morning. I know she wants to go back home. So that is it for us. I'm trying to enjoy my last week off. Getting the Open-Minded Crafting Fun challenge ready for the 10th of January and trying to get some crafting and coloring done.

Here is my share this morning:

For this card I've used Gift Stack Teddy which you can find in the From The Heart Shop. I've colored the image with my Copic Markers. I've done a small bit of layering. I've also used some clear Wink of Stella to give some of the gifts sparkle. I did a bit of distressing on the papers. All of these papers are scraps. I did a bit of hand stitching on the image. I used Snow Marker for the white parts of the hat to add some dimension there. I added a charm there as well. I've added some thread with beads and bells across the top of the card. I also added two light blue snowflake eyelets. I used the same papers, all distressed, on the inside as well.

Copic Markers Used:
  • Bear: B21, B23, B24

Christmas Birdbrain!.

Good morning everyone. It has been a great weekend. It was all rainy yesterday and getting colder. It was wonderful!! Bailey is feeling better, so she just hung out at home, cleaned up a bit, did her laundry. Michael worked all day. Kevin and I watched racing... V8's and MotoGP this weekend. We watched the short V8 races yesterday and the MotoGP practices and qualifying. This morning we are watching the final V8 race, then we will watch the MotoGP races. We have to watch the Moto3 to see if Kent gets the championship. I'm hoping he does it, but it seems like nerves have got him in a bind or something these last few weeks. And then of course the MotoGP race. I also did a bit of crafting yesterday. I was able to get a few cards finished. It was a good day! I'm hoping to get a bit of crafting done today too, because Monday just comes way too fast! And once Monday arrives it is so much harder to get any real crafting done. I wish I could spend my days crafting instead of working LOL!!  Oh well!!

Have a great rest of your weekend everyone!! Here is my card for today:

For this card I have used Deck The Halls which is the Digital Stamp of the Month from From The Heart. I just love these Birdbrains! I've colored it with Copic Markers. I used some charcoal to ground the image. I've added some Wink of Stella to the ornaments. The Merry Christmas is a Paper Smooches stamp that was stamped with Versamark Ink and then embossed with WOW Green Glitter Embossing Powder. I've added a few shiny dew drops. The bottom is a border die from My Favorite Things I believe. I've added some red gems to that. I've also inked the edges of the paper and the die cut. On the inside I've added the wonderful sentiment that was part of the Deck The Halls set. I've inked those papers as well. I've added some additional dew drops to bring it all in together.

Thanksgiving Cornucopia*

Hi Everyone!!  It has been a day today!! I worked from home, but this morning I had two appointments .. one with the Physiotherapist and one with the Dietitian. I went in.. they did my weighing. I'm down to 217 and I have not lost any muscle this month.. which is a great thing. But, then they started talking about my obsession with the scale.. with hubby too. I know I have a problem, so we talked about it. I fought the tears as long as I could LOL but then they came. I hate that I get all emotional!! So, they are going to send me to the Psychologist so we can see if we can come up with some things to help me work through this. I know I'm obsessed and I also know that if I were to gain anything that I would mortified. I'm hung up on the .. you have a year and a half to lose the weight that they tell you about. I know that I've done well... Down from 295 top weight, but I still feel like I'm not doing well enough. I see that I'm 6 months in and others have lost more. I tell myself that I'm doing well... I'm lifting so I'm not losing muscle... I'm just losing fat and they show me that every time I go in, but those numbers are killing me! So... we will see how that appointment goes. I certainly don't want something to hit me in the end and I get all down and go back to bad habits. So... better to jump on it now! I've worked too hard to get to where I am.. I feel better.. I look better.. I'm healthier. Why is that not enough for me? I have no idea. And why do I keep comparing myself to others! I can't seem to stop. Ughhh!!  A struggle every day... I can do this too!  And my hubby is the best!! He is the best support!! I love him dearly for being there.. being honest and helping through everything. And you know what... Jesus answering my prayers for help with this. Jesus loves me this I know!

Okay.. enough of my dribble :D  Here is my card for today:

This image and the sentiments are From The Heart. I had so much fun creating this with the sentiments and the image both!! I colored the image with my Copic Markers and did a bit of layering. I added some stitching to all of the folds. On the front with the "Happy Thanksgiving" sentiment I added some dew drops. I also inked all the edges.. of the sentiments, the card base and the patterned paper. On the middle sentiment I added some sequins. Then, on the back panel I have the image which was cut around by a My Favorite Stamps die. I did a bit of inking around the image by masking it with another printed image. I added some twine and the leaf charm and a few gems. The leaf gem was colored with some alcohol inks. The card base and top papers were all cut using the Silhouette Cameo. I hope you like it!!

Pumpkin Patch*

Hi again everyone! I wanted to share another card with you. Then I'm headed to bed :) I really enjoyed being on all my Design Teams, but I am really enjoying just crafting whatever I want to create :)  I have a bunch of challenges I'm trying to focus on. I'm not going to be able to complete all of them I want this month, but I'm having fun doing what I can!! And not stressing :)

Here is my second card I finished today:

This is using Pumpkin Patch Girl Set that is this month's Digi of the Month at From The Heart. I just love her images! This little one is ADORABLE! I colored her with Copic Markers and I popped up that pumpkin she is holding. I stamped the Happy Fall around her. The papers are all scraps. I inked all of the edges with black ink. I cut some leaves and the square around the image with my My Favorite Things dies, inked the edges of those leaves and added some glitter to each one all color coordinated. I added some ribbon and a bit of bling to finish it off. I added some bling to the inside as well!

Snowman Ice Christmas*

Oh Happy Wednesday everyone! Yesterday we had a strep test for Bailey.. it was negative. And get this!  The doctor says to me... I'm calling in some antibiotics for her. We will send this off to be tested and if it is negative in a couple of days I will call and let you know to stop the antibiotics. And all I can think is... WHAT??  That doesn't even make any sense! We are all becoming immune to these antibiotics, but you want her to take them for a couple of days just in case? How about we just wait and I'll start them if she has a positive test! I was so shocked!

Then it was Michael's turn to get his 2nd booster. So, we finished with that and I took him to school. Him and I had a discussion about his school work. His drama teacher has gone to the counselor to complain about him not getting his work done in that class... he is not getting his lines memorized. They have suggested that the counselor, his drama teacher, myself and HIS BOSS come in to meet. Michael has told her that he isn't getting the work for her class done because of his job.  What?!?  Bring his boss in!! You have GOT to be kidding me! Then they will just stop giving him hours. No.. I don't think that is going to work. And my first response to all of this was just that.. and that I believe he is getting more life experience out of holding a job then he is in acting class. He doesn't like his drama teacher at all.

After I spoke to Kevin though, he made a valid point. Michael doesn't work every day.. he was working about every other day. So honestly, there is no excuse for him not getting his work done other than he doesn't like his teacher and he is lazy. That is how it goes for him though. He hates school and he puts no effort in at all. It is frustrating. Michael called me and told me I needed to come pick him up from the bus right around the corner because it had broken down. When I got him, I tole him that I had been thinking about our discussion this morning and that I thought he needed to get his priorities straightened out and work on his homework on his days off. So he says to me.. so you are taking her side? LOL! I said no.. I'm not taking anyone's side. I just think that you need to be able to do both; School is important too! It has ALWAYS been a struggle with Michael in school. He has yet to pass the first math in High School. I get so frustrated with him! Alright.. enough of all of that!

Here is my Christmas creation for today:

This image is Candy Cane for Snowman which is from From The Heart Stamps. I colored this image with my Prismacolor pencils and used a Spellbinders die to cut around it. I did a bit of layering on the image. I added some snow around the image. I used White Wink of Stella for the snow and the white around the edge of the die. I added some dew drops around the image and a gem and white sequins in the bottom corner. All of the papers were distressed. The blue papers are all scraps and the patterned papers are from Bo Bunny - Altitude pad. I used two different stamps to create the sentiment. I added some green and white twine on the side with a snowflake charm. I also added a bit of glitter to the hat and the balls of the scarf.
