Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenge #6 - Seasons/Holidays

Good morning!! Happy 10th of the month!!  Today is a new challenge over at Open-Minded Crafting Fun. We are on Challenge #6, which has a theme of Seasons/Holidays. You can create anything for any holiday or any season. I can't wait to see what everyone creates! We will hopefully have a wide variety of items!

Our wonderful sponsors for June are:

We love our sponsors!! Please sure to show them the love!! They are so appreciated for all they do! Thank you!!

This challenge was a perfect excuse to create a Christmas card :)  So, that is exactly what I did:

For this one I started with my image from DigiStamps4Joy - Nativity Globe. The image was colored using Copic Markers. I did a bit of layering as well. I wanted to create a shaker with it, but then what to do with the shaker. I decided to put it on an easel card. The background of the globe image was created using Distress Ink. I created the snow flakes using Copic Opaque White. I've added some seed beads, star sequins and gold and white sequins on the inside of the shaker. I used some Wink of Stella on the star at the top. I've used all paper scraps. The metal tag says Merry Christmas and I've used some Alcohol inks to color it. I have also added some doodling on the bottom panel. I also doodled "a Savior is Born".  I also added a couple of rhinestone stars there as well. There are some stickers on the sides - the cross and the poinsettia. I added a bit of ribbon as well.

Copic Markers Used:
    • Manger: E31, E35, E37
    • Hay: Y00, Y21, Y32

Back To School Fairy*

Happy Wednesday! Two more days and I'm off for the weekend! Yippee! I decided to take Friday and Monday for the holiday and to spend a nice long last weekend with my Father-In-Law before he heads back to Australia. He heads back on Monday. So, I'm off to work soon. I hope everyone has a great day!

Here is my school card for today:

For this card I used a Sweet Pea Image -- Helen Reis's The Book Fairy. I thought she would be a great image for a school card. Also, I have been trying to figure out what image I was going to use to do the August Create and Learn Monthly Colouring Class Challenge at Kit and Clowder. Me... I had to be a bit different LOL I wanted to do a brick wall.. instead of the stone type bricks. And... I wanted to use my markers instead of pencils. So, I used Copic Markers to color the brick wall and the image. I did a bit of layering as well. I also tried really hard to make her wings look transparent. I also added a bit of clear Wink of Stella to add sparkle to her wings as well. All of the papers are from my scrap box. Next year I will have to find some new school papers. I think I'm about through all my scraps from last year LOL  I doodled the sentiment of 'Back To School' as well as the 'ABC123, the chemistry tube and geometry/algebra formulas. Then I added the charm and the twine and buttons. I tried to do all of that in the three primary colors of blue, red and yellow.  I also added some buttons and to the inside as well.

Copic Markers Used:
  • Bricks: E53, E55, E13, E09, E19; under wings: E13, E55, E08
  • Cement Between Bricks: W3, W5, W7
  • Wings: B0000, B01, B02
  • Red Book Binding & Red On Outfit: R22, R24, R29
  • Blue Book Binding, Glasses & Blue On Outfit: B04, B06, B26
  • Yellow Book Binding & Yellow On Outfit: Y11, Y13, Y15, Y19
  • Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11, E13, E35

Pirate Ship Matey!*

Good morning and a very Happy Wednesday. We are half way through the week. It has been a busy week too. I'll be glad when it is finished! I think I have decided to work from home on Friday. So I'll put that in tomorrow. Other than that, it will be a busy week. I have two more cards finished that I need to take photos of and I need to get busy on some coloring. I will make some time to do that tonight.  Have a wonderful day everyone!

Ahoy Matey! Take a look at this card:

This was another card using the Silhouette Cameo. The layered skull was also cut with the Cameo. I did a lot of hand drawing on this card. I added the slats across the boat using a Prismacolor brown marker. I also added the black on the poles and the nest. I colored the skull on the flag with a white marker. I also added some chalk along the edge of card and a light shade on the sails to add a bit of dimension and detail. I had that colored map in my stash of images and decided to add it to the inside of the card. It was colored using my Copic markers probably over a year ago. The base of the card is make from Kraft.

Faery Ink March Inspiration

Good morning everyone! It has been a busy week... between doctor appointments, Kevin taking his driver's test, Lacrosse with Bailey and more! LOL  It has been super busy!  Still have a busy Friday and Saturday too .. and Sunday I think! Well.. Hopefully today I can relax a bit! And I can't think of anything more fun to do on my birthday than to share a Faery Ink creation!

Today I am sharing my Faery Ink inspiration post with you for March. Since I was not around in February, I wanted to use one of the new images from February, Autumn Rose Tea Witch. Here is what I have done with her:

I really wanted to do something unique with her, so I went with a shaped card. I love this cute from The Cutting Cafe. Everything was cut using my Cameo. I added a lot of details to this as well. I started off with the image and colored her up with my Prismacolor Pencils. I am having a lot of fun learning more layering with my pencils and experimenting with the different colors blending together. I love how her hair turned out! I did a bit of layering with the image. The I started cutting my pieces for the card. I have used a bunch of scraps on this card! All scraps as a matter of fact. I also used some glitter. I used some purple glitter on the spider and the legs. I used some black glitter for the belt, the show belt and the show heels. The buckles were all cut with gold paper. I added some pen detailing on the brook and around the legs and boots with both a white marker and a black marker. And I decided to make this a Birthday card, so I added the sentiment with some white ink. I love her! and I love how she came out with the pencils. I hope you like her!!

Challenge #26 @ The East Wind

Good morning everyone! Wow!! This is my first post since January! But... we bought a house, got all moved in and settled. Took a bit to get there and get to where I could start crafting again! On top of that I have been going to a boat load of doctor appointments in preparation of Gastric Bypass Surgery. We have been very busy here :) It is so good to be back!

For today, the first of March! Can you believe that!!!  My oldest daughter will be 21 years old on March 9th!! WOW!!!  I can't believe I have a kid 21!!! LOL  Yikes!!  And then my birthday follows closely after that. Getting old! HAHAHA!!  Okay.. let me get back on track LOL!!  Today is the new challenge at The East Wind!!  We are on Challenge #26 and this is a Freebie Challenge with the theme of Doodle Doodle Do (add some doodling)!! I love to doodle! And this freebie is UnkyToons Craft Time!!  AND I LOVE HER!!!  But then... I always love Kyra's images!! And her HUGE generosity to give us such wonderful freebies each month!! AMAZING!!!  So, be sure you are part of The East Wind group and have the monthly newsletter sent!  Sign up now if you haven't... you certainly don't want to miss anything!! Here is what I've done:

I was trying to figure out what I was going to do with this image and I saw this hat and thought... how perfect!!!  So, off I went... cutting my pieces with my Cameo. The image is colored with my Copic Markers. I layered her a bit. All of the papers were out of my scrap boxes. I had quite a bit of Halloween scraps LOL  And these were perfect I thought! I came up with the tag idea of 'Have Some Candy My Pretties' and cut it out with the Cameo. I added the bat sticker and the brad in the middle of that cut flower. I attached the tag to the top of the hat with a wrapping of twine. I also added a bottlecap to the side with the poison circle cutout in it and that is covered with Diamond Glaze. I also added two of those spider web stickers. Then I went to town doodling with my white pen.

On The Darker Side at Delicious Doodles.

Good morning! Happy Friday!! So glad it is almost the weekend!! Woot!!!  I'm really looking forward to crafting this weekend!! Bailey has her 2nd Lacrosse game tomorrow morning... I think it starts at 8 am; she has to be there at 7:15 am. I laughed at her.. she doesn't get up early... for me.. thats late!! LOL I'm an early bird! That is because I'm at work at 6 am! I like to miss the traffic.. its fantastic coming in early and going home at 3 pm! I miss the traffic both ways!!

Today we are beginning Challenge #107 which is On The Darker Side over at Delicious Doodles. Since I am trying to work on Christmas cards every chance I get :)  I did another Creepy Christmas Card! LOL  Merry Creepmas.. here it is:

For this card I used Creepmas Centerpiece which you can find at the Delicious Doodles Shop. I did a bit of decoupage on this image. the candle, the fingers and one of the berry skulls on the holly LOL I colored the image with my Copic Markers. I added two holly swirls from Cheery Lynn. The image was cut with a Spellbinders die. The frame was cut with the Cameo and the negative from that cut was used on the inside. I did one line of stitching down the image and around the edge of the frame. Last but not least I did some doodling around the image as well. I did add a bit of distressing on the black patterned paper inside and out.

Colorful Colorstock Creations at Meljen's Designs.

Happy Thursday everyone! It has been a busy week at work, a busy week at home and a busy crafting week. I'm so behind on everything it just seems like I barely get everything finished and I can't get caught up. Hopefully I can have some down time this weekend to get ahead or at least on track.

Monday is the first day of school! I can't believe it, although I think three months out of school is a bit long. A bit long for the kids to be sitting in their rooms at home. I'm glad they are heading back. Bailey tries out for the Junior Volleyball team on Sunday late afternoon. Michael is going tubing with the church youth group on Sunday and they both went bowling last night with the church youth group. It has been busy the last month or so!

And work... well... work is not a happy place. Everyone is on edge and unhappy and stressed. We have a VP that holds the managers jobs over there heads all the time. He runs them down in front of their colleagues. It is just a bad atmosphere right now. You can see the managers are just worn down and miserable. You can see it on their face and in their attitudes. It really makes for a bad atmosphere at work. Morale is way down in this office. It is sad.

Okay.. enough of my stuff LOL On to the fun stuff!  Today is a new challenge at Meljen's Designs. We are on Challenge #221 and the challenge is Colorful Cardstock.

I decided I wanted to make a cute little 4 set of Twinchies. So, they are 2 inches square, all summer timed themed, all made with scrap cardstock. I used several different images to create this cute little set. I used: Yummy Popsicle, Shaken Not Stirred, Summer Time Sandals and Summer Sun. I colored these all with my Copic markers and decoupaged just a bit of each. On the Yummy Popsicle I layered the orange and green cardstock and added hand drawn stitching with my white pen. I also did the same on the inside. I popped the orange Popsicle above the stick as well. For Shaken Not Stirred, I used light blue and green cardstock. I layered the glass the umbrella, the straw and the charm and I added Diamond Glaze to the glass to give it that shine of glass.  I added the threaded twine on the side and then on the opposite side I added the row of green gems.  For the inside I layered the cardstock and added a strip of twine to match the front. For the third card, Summer Time Sandals, I layered the top sandal and then the strap and flowers. I added a little bit of stickles to center of the flowers. I doodled around the edge of the card, added two additional flowers and a little bit of puff paint in the corners. I also added the red puff paint to the inside. The blue layer on the outside and the red layer on the inside also have a bit of distressing to their edges. For the final card using Summer Sun, I popped the center of the sun and then the glasses. I added a little bit of Diamond Glaze to the glass of the sunglasses and then I added the twine bow at the bottom. I distressed the outside yellow layer and the inside pink layer on this card. I also added a strip of matching twine to the inside of this card. There are no sentiments on these. I thought it would be a cute summer set that you could write anything on. So there you have it :)  That is what I came up with for my contribution to the Colorful Cardstock creations! I can't wait to see what you come up with!!
