A Sketch Challenge At Meljen's Designs.

Good Morning everyone!!! I'm just trying to get through the week so I can have a nice three day weekend LOL  Going through the motions! I hope everyone is having a great week so far! We are almost to the end!! I leave work at 3 pm usually, but today they have set up a meeting for me at 4:30 pm, so I will be here late and stuck in rush hour traffic on the way home. Yuck!  I hate that!! I just need to get through a couple more days LOL!!! Enjoy the rest of your week everyone!!!

Today we are starting Challenge #225: Sketch at Meljen's Designs. It's a fun sketch... I can't wait to see what everyone does with it!

For this one I used Little Possum which you can find at the Meljen's Designs Shop. I colored this little cutie with my Copic markers. I did a bit of decoupage.. I popped him up and I popped the butterfly. I added the gems onto the banners. The die cut is a Spellbinders die. The Hang and There are rubons from my stash and the IN are these cute little stickers that I had in my stash. Yes.. tried to stick with the theme of using some things from my stash. LOL All of the papers are from scraps. And then I added the strip of ribbon on the outside and inside.

Splat! @ Meljen's Designs.

Good morning everyone and happy Thursday!!  This is the second week of school for the kids. It is so good to have them back in school and having them getting back into a routine other than the teenage sleep routine! Bailey went out this past weekend and got gear for Lacrosse. She will start practicing on the 18th. She seems excited! She REALLY wants to be a part of a team sport and I think its great! I wish she would have made the Volleyball team, but she didn't... so we move on to the next thing. She can always try again next year. Michael seems to be settling in... I just have to watch him and see how it goes this year. And Kevin... I think he is enjoying the peace and quiet again LOL!!  Poor guy... he went all his life without kids until he met me. I know it has to be a hard adjustment! And the poor thing had to come into a household of teenagers!

Okay... enough about us LOL I spent last weekend getting cards done! I finished eight (8) in a weekend! That is a record for me LOL!!! I was so excited! I got a bit ahead again... I'm hoping I can keep it that way and get a little further ahead!  So, here is my creation for Challenge #223 at Meljen's Designs; Splat! (use paint, ink spray or mist).

The image is Little Elf's Cookie, which you can find at the Meljen's Designs Shop. I'm really trying hard to use some of my stash up! The papers are all scraps from last years Christmas papers. From my stash of old stuff LOL  I have used a rubon, the "dear Santa,", the Christmas lights sticker from Jolee's I think... That was one that was already open.  The little gingerbread boy on the inside..  I have no idea where or when I got that. It was in one of my baskets of supplies at the bottom LOL I spritzed this card with white and green paint. I added the red netting around the edge and added white glitter to the white parts of his outfit and the embossed snowflakes. I did decoupage him a bit of course.. I popped his one leg, his foot and his hands and the gingerbread cookie he is eating. And I think that is it! Oh! I did color him with Copic Markers. And one more Christmas card down :)  I think I've done alright this year with Christmas cards.. way better than I normally do LOL

COPIC MARKERS:
  • Dark Green on Stockings:YG05, YG09, G19
  • Light Green on Stockings: YG01, YG05, YG09
  • Red on Hat and Outfit: R14, R35, R46, R59

My July DT Day at Meljen's Designs!.

Good morning everyone :)  Me again.. three posts in one day! Sheesh!! LOL  So, for my last post today I am sharing Meljen's Designs. Today is my DT Day at Meljen's and for this one I created a card for this little boy:

He has an inoperable brain tumor and all he would like for his birthday coming up next week is a box of birthday cards. I hope his wish comes true! I hope he ends up with a bunch of amazing cards!!! You can read the store here at ABC News. I hope you all will join in as well!

Here is the card I created using Dirt Storm Monster Truck.

I colored this image with my Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. I used a banner die cut for the Birthday Boy at the top. The letters are old Doodlebug rubons. The mud splats are Sizzix die cuts. I used chalk around the edges of the splats to add a bit of detail and dimension. I decoupaged the image.. I popped the card and the tires and the flag on the back. I hope he likes it!

The East Wind Challenge #8.

Good morning everyone!! Happy Sunday :) Can you believe it is June 1st? Time has sure flown by! And since it is the 1st of the month we are starting Challenge #8 over at The East Wind. And the 1st of the month means its a Freebie Challenge at The East Wind and Kyra is always SO GENEROUS with her freebies!!  The theme for this challenge is Embossing - dry or wet. I can't wait to see what you come up with!!

When I first saw this beauty I thought she was a definite blonde :)  I thoroughly enjoyed coloring her!!! I love the hair that Kyra draws!!!  It is amazing!! And so fun to color!! I feel like I get a little bit better every time.I used a Spellbinders die around her and then I added glitter around the edge. I added a few 3d paint dots on the image! I stitched around the two dry embossed rectangles. Ughhh... I made a huge mistake with what I glued them down with and it was a NIGHTMARE! LOL  The thread kept breaking.. it was awful! I won't do that again. At least I know what I did wrong! The Cherish and the Friends are both rubons that I had. I added the sticker button on the cherish to finish it off. So be sure to join in!!! This is an amazing freebie and thank you Kyra for always being amazingly generous!!!!!

It's Monday!! How about a new challenge over at Tammy's Scrapin Corner?

Good morning! Yep... another Monday morning!  They come around too quickly!

Today we are on Challenge #71 over at Tammy's Scrapin Corner and the theme this week is Camping! So get your campers, your tents and your s'more's out! I can't wait to see your designs!! My little guy is fishing on his camping trip! :)  Here he is:

I thought I would try out a circle step card. I used a large Spellbinders circle for the card and then a smaller circle and a scalloped circle as well on the larger side. I also used a die to cut around the image and the flowers are dies. I colored the image with Copic. The Camp Out, the fish and the On The Lake tag are all rub-ons. I rubbed them onto cardstock and then fussy cut around the rub-ons. I added some cheesecloth on top of the circle dies and I added several different ribbons along the bottom of the circles. Three pearls to the center of the flowers and that is everything. Oh! and I inked around the image and the flowers. It was a fun card to make!

Bear: E33, E35, E37, E39

Meljen's Designs Plays Words With Friends

Good morning everyone. It has been a long week so far. I'm so happy it is finally Thursday. And I have so much to do at work. I'm hoping I can really bust it out today. Taylor got a job for a couple of days. The kids only have one more week of school after this week. Michael is in his extra math classes until Friday. Bailey is waiting to find out this week if she gets accepted into the Honor Society. Kevin is feeling much better.. its only a 24 hour type bug.. REALLY icky bug though!!! But I'm really glad he is feeling better. And that is about it. I haven't gotten any crafting done this week. I've been so tired and I've been going to bed early. Hopefully I can get something done tonight :)

I hope you all have a wonderful day!! And a great rest of your week!! It's almost the weekend!! On to our challenge!

Today is a fun challenge over at Meljen's Designs. Our challenge this week is Words With Friends! For this sketch I used a piece of a page of a book. Here is my card for our challenge this week!

On this card I used two different images from Meljens Designs - I Love My Teacher and Little Apple Worm. I used scrap papers that I had to complete this card except for the base. I used several Spellbinder die cuts, flowers, gems, eyelets (apple), a page from a book, ink, and red puff paint. I colored the image with Copic and I decoupage/popped a few pieces on the card. On the front I popped the worm and the apple and leaf and on the inside I popped several letters in Teacher and the apple.

Copic:
Red - R24, R46, R39, R59
Yellow - Y11, Y13, Y15, Y17
Green - YG03, YG63, YG67, YG99
