Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenge #6 - Seasons/Holidays

Good morning!! Happy 10th of the month!!  Today is a new challenge over at Open-Minded Crafting Fun. We are on Challenge #6, which has a theme of Seasons/Holidays. You can create anything for any holiday or any season. I can't wait to see what everyone creates! We will hopefully have a wide variety of items!

Our wonderful sponsors for June are:

We love our sponsors!! Please sure to show them the love!! They are so appreciated for all they do! Thank you!!

This challenge was a perfect excuse to create a Christmas card :)  So, that is exactly what I did:

For this one I started with my image from DigiStamps4Joy - Nativity Globe. The image was colored using Copic Markers. I did a bit of layering as well. I wanted to create a shaker with it, but then what to do with the shaker. I decided to put it on an easel card. The background of the globe image was created using Distress Ink. I created the snow flakes using Copic Opaque White. I've added some seed beads, star sequins and gold and white sequins on the inside of the shaker. I used some Wink of Stella on the star at the top. I've used all paper scraps. The metal tag says Merry Christmas and I've used some Alcohol inks to color it. I have also added some doodling on the bottom panel. I also doodled "a Savior is Born".  I also added a couple of rhinestone stars there as well. There are some stickers on the sides - the cross and the poinsettia. I added a bit of ribbon as well.

Copic Markers Used:
    • Manger: E31, E35, E37
    • Hay: Y00, Y21, Y32
    • Skin: E000, E00, E01, E02, E11
    • Blanket: E0000, E000, E02
    • Star: Y00, Y11, Y15, Y19
    • Base & Globe: Y00, Y11, Y15, Y19, YR23

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hi Everyone! And I hope you all have had a very Happy Valentine's Day!! I have spent the day with my wonderful husband. I got him a new Kindle, because he needed one! :)  And we went out and had lunch. Other than that we have just hung out at home together. And for us .. that is perfection!

What else has we been up to? The kids are out of school next week. Michael has been working. He also has another ingrown toenail. I have a feeling we will end up at the doctor again for that. He was soaking it this morning, but he couldn't get it cut. He is wanting to wait it out, because he knows it will hurt when they cut it. Bailey helped Kevin and I shovel some crush and run yesterday. We put that in the bike port and the walkway to the house. We also filled up the spots in the driveway that are broken. I think it will take some time to settle and dry out, but I think it will be well worth it. It is much better than the mud that we had. Today, she has gone to spend a couple of days with a friend.

Tomorrow it is back to work and Kevin has an Ultrasound. The weekend has just flown by so quickly! Now, I wanted to share a card with you. This was my first custom order on Etsy. I had someone purchase a card and then ask if I would make her daughter a custom card for her boyfriend for Valentine's Day. She calls him Peach Butt and wanted it to say Happy Valentine's Day Peach Butt. So, with that in mind, this is what I came up with:

For this custom card I created a Peach shape to cut with the Silhouette Cameo. I was able to use scraps for this card! I'm really digging into them. I inked it all up with my Distress Inks to give it that peach flavor :)  I cute the leaves with some die cuts on some embossed paper, stamped the Happy Valentine's Day. Peach Butt was cut with one of my Sizzlit letters and the hearts are a Memory Box die. The little peach is an emoticon that she wanted me to use. The red glitter circles are stickers. And that is it! I had a lot of fun making this unique card! I hope I can have some custom orders again :)

Good evening everyone! I have been busy trying to finish some Christmas gifts and wrap and finish shopping and taking my kiddos out shopping. It has been a crazy week. Not to mention I have been working like crazy to try to get as much done as I can. I got a lot done this week and today too. I wanted to color today, but the majority of my day was spent working. Oh well! There is always tomorrow!

I missed this post yesterday... I wasn't sure when the post was going live. I made this card for the Facebook Challenge at Art By Miran. I was their Guest Designer for this month:

I decided to create a Joy Fold Card. I love these folds! I have used Reindeer Friendship from Art By Miran. I colored the image with my Copic Markers and I've done a small amount of layering. I've done a bit of stitching. I've inked all of the white papers with several different colors of ink, blue, green, red. I've also added some snowflake stickers. All of the papers are from my scraps.I used a Merry Christmas stamp on the outside and then I stamped tis the season on the inside.

Last Halloween .. Took Me A Bit*

Good morning everyone! It has been a few days since I have posted. I've been working and I have been working on this card for days LOL  Nothing much is happening around here. I have a lot to do at work... that is nothing new. My youngest has gotten sick and has been home the last couple of days. I thought for sure she has Strep Throat, but the doctor says Strep was negative and she just has a cold. It sure is a heck of a cold! I'm wondering if the flu vaccine gave her a bit of a mild flew. She will have to stay home today and go back to school on Friday because of fever. I'm looking forward to the weekend. We have a couple of more days to go. There will be a lot of racing this weekend. We have the Australian V8's this weekend and the MotoGP as well. MotoGP is the last race of the season. Here is hoping Valentino doesn't win it!  What else??  That is it for now :D

Here is my card:

So, for this card I've used Fright Night by Charity Dauenhauer from Sweet Pea Stamps. I just love this image. I've colored this image with my Copic Markers and I've done quite a bit of layering on this image as well. This has taken me 3 to 4 days to finish. It's taken me a bit LOL  I've added some Wink of Stella to the moon and her wings. The easel was cut using the Silhouette Cameo. I've added some larger pearls and smaller pearls around the edge of the bottom. I've also added some orange gems around the edge. There is a sticker at the bottom that says "All Hallows Eve". There is also some black swirls at the bottom. I also added a sticker at the top that says "Prepare Yourself For One Spirited Evening If You Dare" in the shape of a bat. There are also a few green gems on the web at the top. I've used a bit of twine to add a skull charm. I think that is it!

Copic Markers Used:
  • Pumpkins: YR00, YR02, YR04, YR07, YR09; Y00, Y15, Y18; E35, E37, E39

Dragon Potion.

Good morning!!  It is Wednesday.. we are halfway through the week! Yippee!! I have so much to do this week. I'm working to get it all done. We will see how it goes today. If I can get the majority of it done today I will be in good shape! That is is this week.. work work work. I'm trying to craft at night. I'll be coloring tonight. Last night I was able to finish a card I'd been working on for the last couple of days. That is what I am sharing today. This weekend it is races... I can't wait until the weekend. Racing and Crafting... it can't get much better than that.

Here is my card for today:

This is Dragon's Tear from The East Wind. The image is colored with my Copic Markers and I also used Chalk Ola Chalk Markers. I've done a small amount of layering on this image to give it more of a 3D look that he is wrapping himself around the bottle. I've used this image for the Texture challenge at The East Wind Challenge Blog. For texture I've done a couple of things.. I've layered the bottle with Diamond Glaze, I've distressed the edges of the patterned paper, I've added stitching. Not your normal way of adding texture I guess, but I think it definitely added texture. I created the Sentiment and added black, white and purple Chalk Ola dots around the sentiment, in the potion and on the black paper on the outside and the inside. I also added clear Wink of Stella over the potion. Under the Diamond Glaze it adds a bit of sparkle. All of the papers are scraps. I think I've finished up some of my Halloween scraps that I love so much!! The Bump In The Night is a sticker.

Copic Markers Used:
  • Green: G12, G14, G16, G19, G29
  • Potion: W1, W3, W5, W7, W9
  • Red: R20, R22, R24, R29, R59
