Yam Puff Lacrosse

Good morning everyone!! And a very happy Monday!!  Is that possible?  Happy Monday?? haha!! Monday really comes all too quickly!!  And now it is time to go back to the working grind for the week... Yuck! But that is what it is!! I hope you all had a nice weekend though.

A while back I was looking around and then asking around for who could create a digital image for Lacrosse. I have a Lacrosse player... my youngest daughter Bailey is a Goalie. I wanted a girl lacrosse player and a girl lacrosse goalie. I searched and searched and just couldn't find a digital image anywhere. Then I went to Kit and Clowder and started asking who would do images. And then Alyce mentioned Yam Puff!! Duh!! I knew that! So I reached out to her and asked her about a commission. I paid for the two images and I've been waiting while she gets her orders completed. Then one day .. she sends me the images she has been working on. I'm floored!! They are perfect. And now I have them completed!!  They are so wonderful!!  If you ever want a commissioned piece of work.. definitely go for Yam Puff!! She was so easy to work with and she gave me just what I wanted. Not to mention her art is ADORABLE!!  I knew I would make use of these.. for the girls, the coaches, etc for at least the next four years! And then there is college .. so I am super excited!! And I went to work on using them for the first time. I made an altered canvas which I framed in an altered frame. And then I also made a matching card, which I'll post in a couple of days. First comes the canvas:

I created this for the coach. I figured she could hang it in her room or something. The two images are from the most wonderful YamPuff!! And they were both commissioned. Thank you Thank you!! for these awesome images!! If you haven't guessed, her High School team is  the Allatoona Bucs or Buccaneers. The frame started out this awful wood. It was a dark brown wood and it wasn't very attractive. I purchased it from Goodwill. I painted it black and then I splattered white and red on it. Their colors are of course red, black and white HAHA!!  Just in case you didn't get that! ;)  I altered a bottle cap and added Coach Carmichael to that and put that on the corner. I wanted to personalize it for her. I took the canvas and painted it a lighter gray and then splattered it with black, white and red. I cut that A in the middle out with the Silhouette and then I colored it in. I also cut the "Allatoona Bucs Lacrosse" out with the Silhouette. The two girls are colored with my Copic markers. I fussy cut them with a little white border around them. I really love that look. And that's it! I had a lot of fun creating it and she really seemed to like it. I gave it to her at the dinner we had to celebrate the team. See you in a couple of days to share the card that went with it. I'm not going to post that tomorrow as I'll be posting the Open-Minded Crafting May Challenge that day ;)

Christmas Baubles*

Good morning everyone!! It has been a busy time. Lots of running around with my husband, picking up kids, taking kids, work and crafting and all that stuff. Nothing like being a mother/taxi LOL!!  And Christmas is coming up so quickly.  I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week! Wow!!  It just seems like this year has flown by. I'm off to work here in a minute. I have to try to beat the rain since I'm riding the bike. I have to get all rain geared up first :)  I have a feeling I will be soaked through on the way home LOL Rain gear or no rain gear! Maybe it will be gone by the time I leave this afternoon; we will see!

I hope you all have a wonderful day and rest of your week! My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who has been involved in any kind of terrorist act of any kind all over the world. I pray that no more will happen. I also pray for those poor souls that don't like that I'm a Christian and put mean, nasty, foul comments on my Facebook. I'm sorry you feel the need to curse me because you don't feel the same way I do. But... that is what we are ... not all the same and not all having the same views. It is just sad you have to strike out with hatred and foul language. But... I hope you have a wonderful day too! :)  *hugs* to you all!!

Here is my card for today:

For this card I've used Christmas Glitter Shoujo from Lemon Shortbread. I just think she is so adorable! I've colored her with my Copic Markers and Ive done a small amount of layering. I've added some 3D paint to the sparkles along with some gold and silver Wink of Stella to add some glittery spots. I've used clear Wink of Stella on the baubles to add some glitter to them. I've also added some glitter to the white part of the sleeves, the puffs in her hair and on her dress and on the white belt part of her dress. I've hammered down a bottle cap and placed the circle sentiment inside it. Then I covered it with Diamond Glaze. The background of the image I used colored pencils - Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. All of the papers are scraps and I added three types of ribbons behind the image and on the inside as well. I've also added a few gems at the top.

Challenge #26 @ The East Wind

Good morning everyone! Wow!! This is my first post since January! But... we bought a house, got all moved in and settled. Took a bit to get there and get to where I could start crafting again! On top of that I have been going to a boat load of doctor appointments in preparation of Gastric Bypass Surgery. We have been very busy here :) It is so good to be back!

For today, the first of March! Can you believe that!!!  My oldest daughter will be 21 years old on March 9th!! WOW!!!  I can't believe I have a kid 21!!! LOL  Yikes!!  And then my birthday follows closely after that. Getting old! HAHAHA!!  Okay.. let me get back on track LOL!!  Today is the new challenge at The East Wind!!  We are on Challenge #26 and this is a Freebie Challenge with the theme of Doodle Doodle Do (add some doodling)!! I love to doodle! And this freebie is UnkyToons Craft Time!!  AND I LOVE HER!!!  But then... I always love Kyra's images!! And her HUGE generosity to give us such wonderful freebies each month!! AMAZING!!!  So, be sure you are part of The East Wind group and have the monthly newsletter sent!  Sign up now if you haven't... you certainly don't want to miss anything!! Here is what I've done:

I was trying to figure out what I was going to do with this image and I saw this hat and thought... how perfect!!!  So, off I went... cutting my pieces with my Cameo. The image is colored with my Copic Markers. I layered her a bit. All of the papers were out of my scrap boxes. I had quite a bit of Halloween scraps LOL  And these were perfect I thought! I came up with the tag idea of 'Have Some Candy My Pretties' and cut it out with the Cameo. I added the bat sticker and the brad in the middle of that cut flower. I attached the tag to the top of the hat with a wrapping of twine. I also added a bottlecap to the side with the poison circle cutout in it and that is covered with Diamond Glaze. I also added two of those spider web stickers. Then I went to town doodling with my white pen.

Going Green at The East Wind.

Good morning everyone! And a very happy Saturday and a very happy 1st of November!  1st of November!!!!  Can you believe it!! I'm in shock!! This year seems to have flown by. And I should have had a bunch of Christmas shopping done already, but I don't have much of anything!

Alright... on to the new Challenge at The East Wind! We are on Challenge #18 and it is the first of the month. That means that we have our Freebie Challenge! If you haven't joined us at The East Wind, be sure you do!! And November's freebie is another AMAZING beauty from Kyra... Aurora Go Green! And what do we mean by Go Green?  Well... you can use green on your project.. or you can recycle something... Or Both! LOL

I went with a Tri-Shutter Card for Aurora. I love creating these cards. All of the papers are scraps. I added a bit of green on her and a bit of green paper. She is all colored with Copic Markers. The two snowflakes are actually wood accents and they are loaded up with some gold glitter. I added gold and maroon-ish dew drops. The swirls are from a Memory Box die. My two recycled items are the photo slide frame in the center and the bottle cap towards the back. I added a wrap of black wire and a gold bell onto the photo slide frame. I pounded the bottle cap to flatten it and it gives it such a great design I think. Then I painted it with some gold paint. I put a circle "Merry Christmas" sentiment into the bottlecap and filled it with Diamond Glaze. The poinsettia was cut with my Cameo and layered. I added two sizes of pearls to the center to finish that off. I did do a little bit of decoupage on Aurora. I popped part of her hat, the front of her scarf, the front of her dress and the basket. I also used my Prismacolor Premier Fine Line Black Marker to add some detailing and shading to Aurora and I used some Copic Opaque White to add some detailing as well! :)  Hope you like it!! I can't wait to see what you come up with!!

Copic Markers Used:
  • Cape, Green on Scarf: YG11, YG13, YG17

Another Anything Goes at Delicious Doodles.

Good morning everyone! It is finally Friday! I am off today so that I can take Bailey to her meet her teachers thing at school today. They make these things at 11 am. What the heck? People might need to work? But it does give me the perfect opportunity to take a day off LOL! And the kids begin school on Monday!  I'll take Bailey to exchange her belt that she got for her birthday too. That will be it for us. I will probably help Bailey work on her volleyball for a little bit too.

Today is another Anything Goes at Delicious Doodles and it will run for two weeks. This is just for the summer. Here is my creation:

For this card I used Skully Santa which you can find at the Delicious Doodles shop. I colored him up with my Copic Markers. I did a bit of decoupage on this; his one hand and his hat. I added the gem swirl, a doily in the back. I hammered down a bottle cap and added a Bottle Cap Image from Bottle Cap Inc. I love them. I have a bunch of sheets of these images. I loaded it with Diamond Glaze and that was it. Oh! and I added a bit of stickles to the white of the site. I decorated the inside with the same papers that I used on the outside.

Copic:
  • Red: R14, R35, R46, R59
  • White: E40, E41, E42
