How To
Photos are layered with two BG-papers. Some torned strips from different papers are added on every side of the photo. Black flowers are stamped on foil. Together with some Prima-flowers and buttons they are the frame for these funny pictures!! Everything is distressed and outlined with a black pen. Journaling is printed on a strip!! The seams are faked with black and white pens.

HOW TO
All papers, die-cuts and rubons are outlined with a black pens. Distressing and inking is naturally. ;) Cut a smaller rectangle than 12x12. Glue it on the paper with the scalloped edges and peel off the paper from the background. The photo is matted with white cardstock and some strips from every Crate paper. Arrange die-cuts and rubons around the pic and stich around the layout!! Some buttons here and there. The journaling is printed on foil. For a textured effect use some 3D-pads under some die-cuts. Easy, huh?? Have fun!!!

HOW TO
All edges and borders are distressed and inked. Some stitches are faked with black and white pens. Others are handstitched. Outline as much as you can with a black pen. The journaling is printed on cardstock strips.

Cut out a 12x12 circles as a background. Layer doily paper, an old book page and a half circle as a photo mat. Clouds are stitched onto the background. Arrange flowers, the bingo card and buttons on the layout. The journaling strips are added as an eyecatcher.

HOW TO
The photo is glued behind the heart. Letters are on foil and outlined in black. The felt is inked in black. Add some brads and a piece of lace wrapped into a bow - very easy!!

HOW TO
I've used a chipboard-bracket to create the shape under the picture. The background is again a circle with scalloped edges.The title is created with two different chipboard letters. A few brads and some handcut flower plus tons of handstitching and black outlining.

HOW TO
Cut a big circle with scalloped edges and punch holes inside. I made the holes with an eyelet-setter. Add four more circles from the different OFFBEAT-papers as the background for the photos. The stiches are faked with white and black pens. The branches are also cut-outs from patterned paper. I've used some BasicGrey mini-monograms as a template for the big title. Journaling is made on foil.

How to:

The photo is matted with some MME papers. Cut out some flowers from Fancy Pants. Arrange all on MME paper as the background. Cut some fancy edges around the basic paper. Build two clusters left and right with cut-out flowers, Heidi Swapp flowers and some brads. Wrap a ribbon around the photo. Title and under title is handcut from MME cut outs. For a special finish doodle around the layout.

HOW TO
Cut a half circle with scalloped edges and punch holes inside. Spray the doily paper with walnut ink. Cut out some leaves and the bird with his cage. Frame the photo with the Baby Boy frame and wrap the ribbon around. The paper strips are arranged at the bottom of the half circle and layerd with lace. Adhere the title in big letters of your choice!!

The background is sanded with a sanding block and cut via a template. Each photo is matted single and again together. The brackets provides as a photo-frame. The book page is snatched and placed as a border. The swirl is stamped on foil. Some die-cuts are the embellishments. The recess is highlighted with stripped paper. Everything is inked and outlined with a black pen.

Christiane- **SCENIC ROUTE**

We have 2 lovely (as always) projects from Christiane. Don't be fooled by the first one...it is not a regular sized layout! It's very little, which makes it a great art piece.

A Little Layout

How To
The backgrounds are cut twice from Bazzill Kraft Cardstock. One is painted with crackled paint. Cut out some flowers and leaves from Sonoma Melody Lane. Outline everything with a black pen. Flowers, ribbon, felt and lace are arranged around the photo. To have a 3D-effect glue some flowers on pads!! Punch out a circle from white cardstock and ink it with yellow ink. Write your name on it. The perfect finish for this little layout is a big staple as a rack!!

How To
A half circle with scalloped border is used as a big photo-mat. Everything on this layout is sanded, inked or outlined with a black pen. Strip work along some borders, little half circles right and left from the photos, some leaves and buttons - that's all. Cut your title from Sonoma paper too!! The finish is some handstitching!!

Christiane- OMG!!

Anticipation for the first day of school grows as wardrobes are filled with new clothes, new backpacks are loaded with school supplies, and children get a haircut to complete their look. And in Christiane's son's case, a very SHORT haircut. She scrapped his photo of the cut before the first day of school.

Christiane- Hugs **TECHNIQUE WEEK**

Sewing on a layout can give it an extra dose of "wow!" But not all of us have a sewing machine. Have no fear! Christiane made a card and handstitched along the edges. Be sure to read her how to to see some tips on this technique.

HOW TO
The card is made from a half circle with round edges. Add some punched circles from the Fancy Pants paper, paint the chipboard and add some bling. That's all!
The border is stitched with a fine pack-thread. Be sure to poke the holes before stitching. You will have a guideline and it's easier to stitch!

HOW TO
Cut a half circle from the Morning Song Paper and place it on the right side. A strip of BG Cupcake paper is placed in the middle and your layout is ready for the photo. The fancy borders are cut from BasicGrey Sublime paper. Butterflies and branches are made using Heidi Swapp Masks as a template. Journaling is done on cardstock strips.

Christiane- Winke Winke **KI MEMORIES**

Christiane seems to be stuck on scrapping circles these days, but there is nothing wrong with that...especially when they come out beautiful like this! Check out the middle of her layout. She used the lace cardstock, backed with clear wrap, to mimick the look of an acrylic page. Do you have an old alphabet die cut set that has been sitting in your scrap space for years? Don't let it go to waste! Christiane used an older KI set as a template on newer paper.

HOW TO
Cut the basic cardstock into a circle with scalloped edges. Afterwards cut a smaller circle in the basic cardstock. Layer the lace cardstock on a piece of clear wrap (syran wrap), then cut all into a smaller circle. Adhere the transparent circle from the back to the basic. Hand draw a *Comic FRAME* on the back of a patterned paper and cut out. I added some paper circles around the lace cardstock, black outlining, lots of handstitching, some felt flowers and a title utilizing an older KI alphabet set as a template.

Christiane- Take a Break **LUXE**

We're going to start something a little different on the Daily Inspiration blog. Starting today, we will be doing manufacturer spotlights with layouts and projects primarily based around their products. So without further ado, for the next couple of weeks we will be spotlighting Luxe Designs. Luxe is known for their simple, modern designs mixed in with cutting edge graphics. They offer products ranging from wonderfully matched paper lines to doodle inspired clear stamps.

Do you love Luxe too? Leave us a link in our comments to your project by the 15th of July and your work could be featured on this blog for everyone to see. Now on to the projects! Today, Christiane starts our spotlight with an altered clipboard featuring the new paper line from Luxe, "Flip Flop."

HOW TO
First, take 2 sheets of the Simply Luxe in cobalt blue (the opposite side is a reverse print in white) and cut into 6"x12". Cut the borders from the white side with a fancy edge and mat it on the blue side of the paper.
The two brackets, waves, and shells act as a frame for the photo and is all hand cut from Luxe papers.
Weave the cling film through the waves.
The letters are from cardstock and have masking tape on top. The tape is then colored with acrylic paint, pearl finish and glitter.
The cute little star is a present from the Weight Watchers program. ;)

Christiane- "Stars Von Gestern"

Christiane has perfected the outlining technique. On her layout today, she uses many different lines, from black to white to even sewing, to add dimension.

HOW TO
The background is made from cardstock and patterned papers cut using a template from Making Memories "Noteworthy" paper.
The frame is handstitched and all papers are distressed and inked.
Two strips from different Fancy Pants papers are placed to the left of the photo then edged with a handcut bracket.
The stars are also from cut from Fancy Pants papers and glued with 3D-pads.
Letters are handcut and lined with a black pen. The brown letters are inked with walnut ink spray. Add some bling and journaling strips and the page is finished.

My First Thought

The world of scrapbooking is not just set in real life. Technology allows us to make friends from all over the world via the internet. Christiane made a layout regarding her friend, Barbara. They both design for a challenge blog, Scrapping the Music and have formed a close on-line relationship despite the distance between them (Barbara lives in the United States).

Cut out two big circles from different papers and some flowers. Mat your picture with red cardstock. Some brads, clouds, a bit of felt and some hambly overlay are arranged around the circles. I've painted the letter stickers in black with a permanent marker. Print your journaling onto white cardstock and cut it in strips. Some handstitching in black and your layout is finished!!

HOW TO:
The photo is matted with a piece of 5th Avenue Elizabeth Floral. Letters are hand cut from the backside also like the branches from 5th Avenue Elizabeth Berry. Everything is again distressed with a Heidi Swapp Distressing Tool and inked with Ranger Distress Ink Black.

HOW TO:


Card 1
Cut out a strip from 5th Avenue Foiled Paper. Also some flowers from the 5th Avenue Diecut Paper in black and white. Adhere all together with strips of green MM Garden Party Trims framing your paper.

Card 2
Cut out two butterflies from the backside of 5th Avenue Elizabeth Floral and 5th Avenue Sophia Floral. Adhere both with a photo corner from the 5th Avenue Die Cuts Elizabeth. The MM Chipboard Alpha Stickers Garden Party letters are painted black.

Card 3
Cut out some flowers from the 5th Avenue Diecut Paper in black and white. Punch out a couple of circles in different sizes from the 5th Avenue Foiled Paper. Add two MM 5th Avenue Junbo Pebble Brads Sophia and your card is ready to go!!

Christiane Twofold

Today we are spoiled with 2 layouts from Germany's Christiane Müller. She shares with us some of her trademark styles...lots of cutting and black outlining!

HOW TO:
Cut out a circle from the blue backside of the Chatterbox paper. Cut a circle ring from the Chatterbox Scroll Woods, (it must be a bit smaller then the first.) Adhere both. The leaf tendrils were cut from different Chatterbox papers (I used a selfmade template.) The Picture is matted with Making Memories Ledger Paper. I used the Basic Grey Bracket Album as a template. The journaling is written on foil, the title made from Doodlebug Letter Stickers and the green backside of Chatterbox Paper. Arrange all supplies on a kraft colored cardstock. All leaves and flowers are cut out from the Chatterbox Chocolate Woods Paper. The Grungeboard Bookplate and the rest of the glitter accents are made with Ranger Stickles. And again: everything is distressed with Ranger Distress Ink and outlined with black and white pens!! Have fun!!!

HOW TO:
The black Narritive paper is punched with an eyelet-setter tool. The white paper is a cut-out from a Creative Imaginations Narrative journaling box and punched with a Stampin' Up border punch. Swirls are handcut from black Creative Imaginations Narrative paper. I've used chipboard letters as templates on white Creative Imaginations Narratives. Numbers are painted with red acrylic paint! The photo is layered with paper lace and a baby blue border from Creative Imaginations Narratives. And everything is bordered with a black pen!! ;)
