Moniek- Creative Imaginations Car Book

The following is a project taught by Moniek at our Retailer's Weekend at the ScrapbookMate warehouse last month. There are kits still available for 15 EUR plus shipping. If interested, please email us at sbmblog@hotmail.com.

Creative Imaginations Car book
by Moniek Jannink

Cut 2 strips of paper of 30 x 3 cm from the KI stripe paper.
Lay the car album on the paper you would like to use for the front of the album and trace the front and the back of the album with a pencil. Cut both pieces out with an extra centimeter at the back. This is to cover the back of the album.
cut out the window template and draw 2 windows on your paper. Make sure you stay about 2 cm from the roof of the car. Cut the windows out.
adhere the paper for the back of the album.
Place 2 photo´s behind the windows and glue the paper on the front of the album. Make sure you overlap the paper at the spine of the album.
adhere the 2 stripes of paper to the bottom of the car. Make sure to overlap them at the spine.
use sandpaper to sand off any excess paper.
trace the wheels 6 times on brown cardstock and cut them out.
Use 4 pieces to glue to the 4 wheels.
cut the other 2 wheels in the middle and glue to the back of the wheels.
punch 4 circles from blue paper, 4 smaller circles from green paper and 4 small circles from orange paper.
use a circle stamp to stamp them and adhere to the wheels. Sand off any excess paper.
Attach the wheels to the album using the 4 big brads
cover the innerpages of the album and embellish them with stamps and stickers. Use the white cardstock for stamping the jounaling labels and cut them out.

I thought the pictures of this evening fitted perfectly with the Piggy Tales - the ballad of Mulan Collection.

Moniek- Piggy Tales

When I first saw the Piggy Tales Mulan collection with the black and red patterns I immediately thought about the soccer outfit of my son. The colors of his club are black and red!
Most of the papers have an asian print, but I used the Valiant Soldier paper with the strips..... perfect for a soccer layout of my son!

I use a Heidi Swapp 9x9 album for all soccer layouts, so this layout is 9x9.

Moniek- 2009 Agenda

2009 Agenda
by Moniek Jannink

SUPPLIES
Paper: Basic Grey – Recess "Principal," "Classmates,"
Cardstock: Bazzill Kraft
Alphabet stickers: Mustard Moon – cardstock stickers brown
Embroidery floss
Several stamps
QK Silhouette
QK tab die
Circle punch
Crop-a-dile
Chipboard
6 binder rings

HOW TO
I bought a 2009 filling for an agenda planner with 1 week on 2 pages and made the cover of 2 pieces of chipboard. The cover and pages measure 20 x 15 cm.

I embroidered a frame on the front cover and used the Mustard Moon letter stickers to make a title. I cut the large M with my silhouette.

I have made several sections in my diary for keeping notes, recipes, scrapbooking inspiration etc. I folded a piece of basic grey paper (20 x 30cm) in half, fold to the rights side, holes in the left side and glued the bottom together in order to make a pocket in which I can keep several memorabilia. I included some writing paper and embellished the papers with stamps.

Moniek- Christmas Frame

Today's project from Moniek is a great way to use up all those scraps of Christmas Paper. It's a quick and inexpensive handmade gift that any recipient would love.

Moniek used an inexpensive frame and cut out 35 5x5 cm squares from her leftover BasicGrey Wassail. Then she inked all the edges in brown and adhered them to an off-white paper. She embroidered a red frame around the squares and then handcut the word Noel.

Where has the day gone?! Well, to make up for the late afternoon post, we have a few projects to share with you from a couple of our Dutch designers. First we have 3 cards from Moniek using the BasicGrey Wassail line. Then Mireille shows us 3 layouts using the Wassail line also.

I used glimmer missed on the large Heidi Swapp flower for some extra glitter. Stamp journaling on patterned paper and cut.

Paint the hinges in a color that fits your paper (they were blue before).
Add your title.

Journaling reads:
At this beautiful day at the beginning of autumn I enjoyed a day with you in the park. surrounded by a beautiful light.Made me think of a song. Had this Neil Young song -Harvest Moon-in my head all afternoon.

Filled the circle in with wassail line again.
Put the photo's on a large red photo mat.

Stamped the journaling block and wrote journaling with a black American Craft marker. Use the same marker to outline the photos, to make them pop more.
