Alphas: Basic Grey and Making Memories
Embellishments: Prima flower and swirl
Miscellaneous: Glossy Accents by Ranger, Pens, Making Memories staplers, lace, a no-name pearl heart, no-name leaves, Fluid Chalk

3. Cut a piece of ledger or striped paper (or something like that. I used a piece of Jennie Bowlin's Country store) into an interesting shape. For this one, I re-used the backing of a JB-button packaging as the template but you can also find templates online. Add the shaped paper on top of the other papers, and staple the lace to it all.

4. Glue your photos down. Either make them all evenly spaced and straight. or tilt them up - it's a matter of taste.

5. Add the title, the flower (plus its center) and the bling.

6. Put names and date in the empty corner to the low right.

7. Voilà! You're done!

Zarah- October Afternoon

This layout is about how the apple sometimes is VERY happy to be falling pretty close to the tree...

My mother was a very special person, and the journaling says:

"If all I ever succeed in, in life, is to be a bit like you... Then I've reached my goal!"

SUPPLIES
White and black (and a TINY bit of brown) Bazzill

October Afternoon papers, from the gorgeous Cherry Hill collection
Alphas from Musterd Moon and Making Memories
Grungeboard by Tim Holtz/Ranger
Flowers & leaves from Prima The black blower that I stamped on the cream Prima, is by American Crafts, the Thanks-set
Apple chipboard from American Crafts. I've altered it slightly, adding a small rose leaf that I cut up and a stem of brown Bazzill
Wing ghostshapes made with white ink on regular overlays, and the stamps are from Heidi Swapp
Other, random stuff from my drawers:
Scrappy Floss by Karen Foster, no name buttons and pins, black brads, red staplers, lace, black raindrop and one KaiserCraft pearl.

HOW TO
The layout is basically just made with layers of the wonderful 8x8-papers from October Afternoon. With the squared one, I've cut it off beneath the apple-patterned paper and used the strip to make it seem longer than it really is.

All the edges are scraped with a pair of scissors, and then inked.

The dictionary print paper is torn on one edge, and scalloped on another. I've used a piece od scallop edges Bazzill to get that shape. I just traced, and then cut it out.

The tag is just a piece of white Bazzill that I've rounded the corners of, and stamped with a stamp from the Thanks-collection by American Crafts.

The arrow is simply a piece of a spinner from Cosmo Cricket. You can easily make your own by cutting one from Bazzill and mounting it on 3d-dots for height, adding a push-button to the center. (Or layer Bazzill to get faux chipboard.)

For the frame, I stamped a 3x3 Wedding Frame by American Crafts on a piece of overlay plastic, and cut it out.

I marked the text below with a green Memory Marker, that's also made by American Crafts.

The silver heart is just a raw piece of grungeboard with two layers of glue and "white" glitter by Making Memories.

Jess- BasicGrey

Small Treat Box
by Jessica Summers

SUPPLIES
Patterned Paper: BasicGrey Bittersweet- "Ganache," "Crushed Berry," "Blushing Pink," "Meltaway."
Cardstock: Bazzill
Stamps: Making Memories
Ink: Ranger
Paper Punch: Fiskars
Misc: Ribbon, foam pop dots, adhesive, bone folder, scorer.

HOW TO

1. Cut patterned paper down to 8.5"x11". Position your paper lengthwise. Using scoring blade on paper trimmer, score your patterned paper at 2", 5", 7", and 10".

2. Rotate your paper vertically and score at 2" and 7".

3. Use your bonefolder and crease your score lines.

4.
Rotate paper back to the horizontal position with the 2" score line at the top position. Looking at your paper, your scorelines (from left to right) will be at 1.5", 2", 5", 7", and 10". Along the top of your paper, trim off all of the sections except the one located at the 2" score line (the second tab from the left). This will be the flap closure for your box.

5. Trim off the section located at the 1.5" score line on the bottom left.

6. Along the bottom section, use your scissors to cut the vertical score lines only to the 7" horizontal line. These flaps will now become the bottom of the box.

7. Make a scalloped border on the closure flap of your box.

8. Finish making creases using your bone folder.

9. Adhere the sides of your box and bottom of your box using a strong adhesive. Do not glue your top flap!

10. Once the box has been put together, carefully line up the front and back top corners and pinch together. Punch two holes in the middle of your flap for your ribbon closure. Match up the holes onto the body of the box, mark the position, then punch again.

11. Thread a ribbon through the holes on the box first, then through the holes on the flap. Tie into a bow.

12. Layers of patterned paper, cardstock, and stamped images make a quick decoration for the front of the box.

13. Distress all edges with ink.

Jess- My Mind's Eye

I made this cute little countdown calendar for my pregnancy. At the time, I did not know if I was having a boy or a girl, so I tried to mix pinks and blues for an ambiguous effect. I do know now (it's a boy!), but the colors are still fitting.

Jessica- Claudine Hellmuth Sticky Back Canvas and Studio Paints

There's alot of cute shaped albums out there, but sometimes the cover art just isn't what you need. I have had this cute bracket shaped mini from the Love, Elsie "Daisy" line, however I do not have a dog! Luckily the sticky back canvas solved that problem.

Altering a Mini Album Using Claudine Hellmuth's Sticky-Back Canvas
Designed and Taught by Jessica Summers

SUPPLIES
Claudine Hellmuth Sticky-Back Canvas
Claudine Hellmuth Studio Paints- Classic Teal, Dash of Red, Charcoal Black
Claudine Hellmuth Studio Paints- Multi-Medium Gloss
Ranger Archival Ink- Black
Foam Stamp
Sizzix Die Cutting Machine
Sizzix Die- Charms, Flowers #2
Brads for floral centers
Thin strip of cardstock
Background Stamp
Stickles

TOOLS
Craft Knife, Scissors, Crop-A-Dile, Foam Brush, Paint Brush, Ranger Non-Stick Craft Sheet, Black Pen, Strong Glue Dots, Heat Gun, Paper Towels, Water for Washing Brushes, Water for Blending.

HOW TO
1.Trace around the outer edge of your mini onto the backside of your canvas sheet; cut out and attach to the mini album cover.
2.Scoop out a portion of the multi-medium onto your craft sheet. Using your foam stamp, dab into the multi-medium until you have an even layer. Stamp directly onto your canvas. Allow to dry.
3.While the medium is drying, cut out 3 circles, each measuring: 3.5” (8,9 cm), 3” (7,6 cm), and 2.5” (6,4 cm).
4.Paint the larger circle and one small die-cut flower black and the smallest circle red. Set aside to dry.
5.The medium sized circle will have a blending technique.
1.Paint the medium flower teal, but leave about ¾ of a centimeter around the edge plain.
2.Blend a dab of red and a dab or teal onto your craft mat to make a purple shade. Water down the new color.
3.Using a small amount of the purple at a time, paint onto the edge of the flower and blend into the teal color.
4.Set aside to dry.
6.Paint a die-cut flower with any remaining purple, and the last flower teal.
7.By now the multi-medium should be dry. Add a scoop of teal pain onto your craft mat and water down with a paint brush. Paint over your canvas to expose the medium (this technique is called a “faux batik”). With a paper towel, quickly wipe away the paint from atop the medium. Continue to paint until you achieve your desired color. Set aside to dry.
8.Stamp a background image onto your red circle.
9.Cut your circles according to the diagram provided. Once the flower petals are cut, score and fold each one in half. Leaving the paper lining on the back of the canvas will help flowers keep their shape. However, this can also be achieved by applying a coat of the multi-medium and allowing it to dry.

10.Layer your flowers, attaching a brad to the middle. Adhere to your mini.
11.As a final touch, you can add little droplets of the multi-medium to your flowers for a handmade “raindrop.”

ADDITIONAL TIPS, IDEAS, AND USES
- For a complete color mixing guide, visit: http://www.collageartist.com/chstudio_colormixing.pdf.
- How To Make a Glaze: Mix together a bit of paint with the multi-medium. The more multi-medium used, the more transparent the paint glaze will be.
-Print on Canvas with computer printer (not recommended for laser printers)
-Resist Technique using Ranger Watermark Resist Pad
-Sew onto t-shirts or make purses.
-Faux Batik
-Glue with the Gel Medium
-Water down colors for translucent coloring.
-Mix with Ranger Perfect Pearls: Run canvas through an embossing folder. Outline the embossed area with a Ranger Perfect Pen in clear. Dust lightly with Perfect Pearls. Mixing the paint with Perfect Pearls also gives a beautiful look.
-Works well with die cutting machines and a Bind-It-All.

Add twigs to form the branches and trunks. I then made some roses made by cutting circles from the reverse Teachers pet, cutting into a spiral and then folding the spiral inwards to form the flower. This technique I learnt from my talented friend Lucy Folch. These were added to the trees.

Easter Egg Idea using Ranger Alcohol Inks

Here's an idea for your alcohol inks you may have stashed. First stamp your egg using an unmounted clear stamp. We used Ranger Archival Ink in jet black because it is waterproof and non smearing. Add a drop or two of your preferred Alcohol Ink with a small amount of the Alcohol Blending Solution into a mixing well. Using a paint brush, color in your design with your alcohol inks. Another way to get a mixed color effect is to place your egg upright into your mixing well. Start with a dark color and place a drop or two directly onto the pointed end of your egg. Let it trickle down, then add a drop of the Alcohol Blending Solution. Add another drop of a different color. Keep builiding your colors and adding drops of the blending solution.
