Kirs - Halloween Windlight Candle

Halloween Windlight Candle
By: Kirs de ven-Smit

Materials :
Hambly Prints
My Minds Eye - Boo! To You
Cardstock White - Grey - Black
Prima Marketing Felt Stems, black
Prima Marketing Flowers Essentials 6 Rebellious
Felt grey
Fancy Pants, Chipboard Branch
Making Memories Slice,  Slice Design Card Just Chillin' Teen

How to :
Create a cylinder with Hambly Prints, stick him with a double-sided tape. For the beautiful edge finish,  paste a slip of paper out in the length of the duct. Paste a felt branch on it. Decorate it with a flower and an owl. Owl is made with the MM slice. All paper figures are made with MM Design Card Just Chillin’ Teen (flour, death cup, owl and letters).
The bottom edge is covered with a felt strip, which I first cut all in, it looks the grass

Paint the chipboard branch orange and edit them with black ink. Bend it slightly so it fits on the tube, stick them  with  3Dtape
For a bird cage: the designation is used on ... paper, cut them out. Glue slightly the bird with  and smooth it, then straw it with the glitters . Allow to dry. One tip, do this step first.

To every letter cut twice, one on gray cardstock and other on dessin paper.

The tombstone itself is signed by the first small sign on gray card stock, cut them out and take that pattern on the black card stock and draw him bigger, then cut again. Together with 3D stick tape. For letters see above. (take gray instead of black card stock)

In this paper, there are circles cut in 2 different sizes. Together with 3D stick tape. Fill they  in the blank spots, even with the flowers. The flower buds: cut small circles from orange velt.

For safety take a waxlight with battery.

Zarah- Mitt I Stan

Mitt I Stan
by Zarah Peterson

SUPPLIES
Cardstock:  White, and turquiose, scalloped Bazzill
Patterned Paper:  My Mind's Eye - Our Princess Fresh FlowersCousins Little Blossom / Blue Polka DotAll Star Starburst / Green Deco Paper, Basic Grey - 12x12 Paper: Ice Cream Parlor
Flowers: Prima Marketing
Alphas: American Crafts and Making Memories
Miscellaneous: A Hambly overlay, lace, no-name Prima-knock-off-leaves & ditto flowers (the pointy ones), bling, pearls, staples, brown ink.

HOW TO
This layout is made partly from the scraps after making the wine bottle container, partly from fresh, uncut papers.

The yellow piece and the darker spotted one, are both small scraps, there's nothing underneath the overlapping paper. ;)
(A great way to use that favourite paper more than once, by the way!)
I framed the photo with a Hambly overlay and stapled that down using black MM staples.
I've also used green staples (MM) to keep the lace in place.
I've layered the flowers (Prima and no-name Prima knockoffs) and created the blinged centers by simply gluing smaller gems around a big one.
Gives you a lot of say-to to how you want your center to look, when it comes to colour and shapes (for example - you can surround a clear bling or a pearl with red heart shaped blings on a Valentines LO or card for someone you love).
All the edges are toughed up with my edge scraper, and inked with brown ink.

Christiane- OMG!!

Anticipation for the first day of school grows as wardrobes are filled with new clothes, new backpacks are loaded with school supplies, and children get a haircut to complete their look. And in Christiane's son's case, a very SHORT haircut. She scrapped his photo of the cut before the first day of school.

Jessica- Altered Agenda Book **KI MEMORIES**

At the Scrap-A-Ganza a few months ago, I had the privilege of meeting some outstanding teachers. One day, I found myself in a conversation with Vicki Boutin regarding mini albums. Within a couple of minutes, she taught me an easy way to decorate chipboard (and in this project, wood). I used the beautifully bright KI Memories "Bloom" as the base papers for my agenda.

Altered Agenda
by Jessica Summers

SUPPLIES
Agenda Book: Kaiser Crafts
Patterned Paper: KI Memories- Bloom "Bloom, Raincoat, Grasshopper, and Veranda."
Lace Cardstock: KI Memories- Pop Culture "Disco Ball"
Fabric Paper: KI Memories Love, Elsie- Claire "Girl Time"
Cardstock: Bazzill Bling
Stickers: KI Memories- Bloom "Softies," Love, Elsie "Trinkets." and Index Tabs. Creative Imaginations- Love Struck, American Crafts,
Rubons: KI Memories Love, Elsie. Hambly Screenprints.
Felt: Fancy Pants
Stamps: Luxe Designs
Journaling Sheets: Prima Marketing
Overlays: Hambly Screenprints
Paint: Making Memories Acrylic Paint in Black and Clear Effects Glitter.
Miscellaneous: Tissue paper, modge podge, sand paper, Dymo labeler, fabric pocket, embroidery thread, photo corners, calendar printouts, 5 binder rings.

HOW TO
First, take 4 brightly colored pieces of tissue paper and wad it into a ball. Then take your modge podge and add a generous layer to your wooden pages. Lay your tissue down, but do not make it perfectly flat. Overlapping some areas will give it more dimension. Add another top coat, making sure any overlapping pieces have modge podge under the folds, so it lays flat. Let dry completely. Once dry, you can use a piece of sand paper to finish off the edges.

While you wait for your wooden pieces to dry, cut your papers. These are the measurements:
  1. Front page: 12 cm x 18 cm (1)
  2. Pages for addresses: 11.5 cm x 5.75 cm (3 colors of CS), overlay cut to 10 cm x 18 cm
  3. Page 2: 15.5 cm x 18 cm (1)
  4. Page 3: 19 cm x 18 cm (1)
  5. Calendar Pages (cardstock): 15.5 cm x 18 cm (12)
  6. Calendar Pages (printout): 12.5 cm x 14.5 cm (12)
  7. Last Page: 22.5 cm x 18 cm (1)
  8. Hambly Overlay pieces under the titles: 5 cm x 18 cm (3)

ADDRESS SECTION
The fabric pocket is reserved for business cards. The sheets for the addresses are made from bling cardstock, cut to flip independently from one another. Stamp each card with Luxe stamps. Use a piece of Hambly on the outer edge, rubons on the corners and use Thickers for your title (the same process will be done on all sections).

BIRTHDAY and ANNIVERSARY SECTION
For this section I used alternating pieces of Prima journaling sheets that are designated a month of the year. Use a color coordinated piece of KI Memories paper to match your tissue paper.

CALENDAR
I found an online .pdf for my calendar printouts. I made this section reusable simply by using black photocorners to hold the calendar down. At the end of the year, I can reprint my calendar and toss the old without wasting the Bazzill Bling. Each month is organized with a KI Memories index tab. I rearrange this section monthly too, placing the old month at the end so the current month is on top.

PEN HOLDER
The pen holder is quick and easy to make. Cut a thin strip from the fabric paper. Fold it around your pen, allowing about a 1 cm overhang. Then use glue dots on both ends (inside the fold) to adhere it to your book.

Lucy- Queen of the Words and My Tunes **LUXE**

Well our 2 week Luxe spotlight is over. I hope you enjoyed looking at our projects as much as we enjoyed making them! Tomorrow we will start with a super fun company, KI Memories!

As our grand Luxe finale, I bring you two hip and funky layouts from Lucy. The first layout is dedicated to her sister and the poetry she writes. The second layout is her current top 5 songs. A great way to remember what music you were listening to years down the road!

Queen of the Words
by Luciane Folch

SUPPLIES
Patterned Paper: Luxe Designs- Simple Lined Black, Polka Dot Black
Flowers: made from Luxe Designs Simple Ledger Pink
Luxe Designs Alpha stickers pink
Luxe Designs Journaling block stickers
Luxe Designs epoxy stickers
silk paper or tissue paper(pink)
Book page
Acrylics MM
Felt chandelier from a 1 euro store.

HOW TO
Start by painting the paper from the book.
Water the paint down so it reveals the writing from the page.
Cut a bracket shape from the polka dot paper to make a mat for your photo.
Crumple and wrinkle the silk paper as well with the book paper and place it on your background.
Now you just need to cut some flowers shapes. I used my Quick Kutz but you can just trace it with a pencil and handcut.
Add some stickers as your center for the flowers.
Get some journaling block and add your journaling. I used a black marker because it is the best thing to write with on slick surfaces.
You can glue the felt chandelier with contact glue or fabric glue.
Place your title as you wish.

My Tunes
by Luciane Folch

SUPPLIES
Patterned Paper: Luxe Designs- Simple Grid Black, Simple Ledger Pink
Luxe design journaling block stickers
Luxe designs alpha pink
Ki memories transparent shapes

MM glitter tiny alpha
Hambly rub ons
black pen

HOW TO
Let's concentrate on one corner of the page. Choose a side and start working with the paint.
I paint with my fingers here, because it's fun! LOL
Then the main secret is to add some small photos.
The you'll embellish all around the photos with rub ons, scraps of Luxe Designs papers, and some of the cute softies from KI Memories.
Punch some circles and make a half border for your photo using the pink ledger paper.
Then add some journaling blocks. Here I did my top five songs for this summer.
Now you have a bright and fun Lo to remember the songs from 2008!

Boys Will Be Boys

At the Mega Scrap-A-Ganza event, many of the designers from the blog met for the first time. I sat down with Natalie and we talked a bit about scrapbooking and through the conversation, she became dubbed, "Miss Card-Maker." Natalie loves to make cards for us, so it's a special treat to get a layout from this talented lady.

Don't forget, Natalie will be teaching at the Mini Scrap-A-Ganza event this weekend in Stratford Upon Avon!
