Rating this one true.................
Freshly exposed to the human mind, Morey couldn't help but notice how strangely it operated.

the beautiful madness..............................
The simplest truth about man is that he is a very strange being; almost in the sense of being a stranger on the earth. In all sobriety, he has much more of the external appearance of one bringing alien habits from another land than of a mere growth of this one. He has an unfair advantage and an unfair disadvantage. He cannot sleep in his own skin; he cannot trust his own instincts. He is at once a creator moving miraculous hands and fingers and a kind of a cripple. He is wrapped in artificial bandages called clothes; he is propped on artificial crutches called furniture. His mind has the same doubtful liberties and the same wild limitations. Alone among the animal, he is shaken with the beautiful madness called laughter; as if he had caught sight of some secret in the very shape of the universe hidden from the universe itself.

Too loud.............................................?
Jarod and Leslie Anderson have published a new book, 100 Prompts for Science Fiction Writers. Prompt # 16 goes like this:
"Psychically sensitive aliens show up and complain that Earth is being too loud. The are obviously more technologically advanced than us and more than a little intimidating.
What is the discussion on Earth? Do we meet their demands and try to be more neighborly? What major changes would have to happen in society? Are Zen Buddhists recruited to help quiet noisy minds? Do people fight back to retain their freedom of thought? What are the consequences if Earth doesn't quiet down?
If you struggle to "think outside the box," you might take a peek at this dandy little book. It will get you thinking.
