The Vintage Rose Fabric Covered Drawers For Pearls and Lace Thursday 144

Sometimes it just happens.  The PERFECT item pops up in front of my eyes from Etsy and I hit the button to place it in my shopping cart before I even read the item description.  And then my heart starts to pound a bit faster and I wonder if I dare.  You know that feeling.  Just go ahead and press the button to purchase without looking back!!
But I always look back.  Just in case I missed something about the item that would be a deal breaker.
And after looking at the description, and the other pictures, it just makes it so much better to KNOW that I'm getting an item that is wonderful!!
Thank you so much Sofia!!!

If you have seen my craft room or any of my posts for that matter, you know how much I love and adore faded and tattered fabric covered boxes.  So this little beauty is a perfect addition.

Oh look how much it has been loved over the years!!

And let me tell you something about the Etsy shop owner, Sofia...
She also makes these GORGEOUS paper flowers, and when I opened my box from her
it was filled with pink paper tissue flowers!!  How sweet is that??
But this one special flower with the printed pink paper was
tucked sweetly in the bottom drawer of my new purchase:

Next month is a special month for me.  I have a milestone birthday approaching and I have a huge area in my craft room set up with LOTS of pink and cream lovelies...not ALL of my collection of laces and pearls and pinks and creams, but a good bit of it!  I am in the process of taking LOTS of photos to share with you and I would like to give you just a taste of what is in store:

A recent find, and it's gorgeous!  In fact, just dripping with lace loveliness, don't you think?
If you have a chance to look at Etsy and you'd like to find my new friend Sofia and her lovely shop, you can find her HERE.  Not only did a find a lovely shop,
I found a sister in the Lord who shares my love for beautiful things.

I'd like to change the way I host this month's party and ask you to do something a bit different.  Instead of taking time to add your blog post to a party link here, would you take some time and open your Bible and read it?  I have drastically reduced the time that I spend blogging and have instead picked up my Bible more to read what God has to say.  He truly blesses me every day when I put HIM first.
May you each be blessed by Him.

I'm Thinking Pink

It's official.  I have a new favorite color.  It's Pink!
Who knew?  I didn't like it so much as a child, didn't really think about it as a good color for me growing up,
didn't even decorate with it (2 sons and 3 nephews!!).
So.  All because of y'all, I'm now a Pinkster!!!
Everywhere I look, I see something pink that I've just gotta have.
There are some awesome shutters somewhere that I'm so in love with, but alas, not for sale!!
So in the meantime, these will have to do.

The tatted pieces above are my try at an edging I saw in a picture.  I'm working on a longer length now that I've worked out the pattern.

Hope you enjoyed the Pinks in my world!  I'm always on the lookout for more though...just so I can join this party!  Not really.  They are gorgeous and I'm having so much fun using pink in my home.
I'm joining up with the Pink Party People for Pink Saturday!!
and join Beverly for a great weekend of beautiful PINK!!
As well as the Party Show Off Your Cottage Monday
Lots of lovelies!!

Pearls and Lace Thursday, Spring Giveaway Continues!!!

The Spring Giveaway Continues!! Don't forget to join me and enter for all of the chances to win!
I am still adding new items, and this week I will add a rope of pearls! (faux of course...)
Link up with this Party as one way of joining the Giveaway, and read HERE for the original post to see all the other ways to enter.  Giveaway ends May 10th.  Still lots of time!

OK...Pearls and Lace.  It's a Linky party, but it's become the time of the week for me when I really take the time to get the best pictures I can take of some of my favorite things.
When I begin, I usually have some idea what type of vignette I will be working on, at least a few items I want to share, and where I will be setting up.
But for this one: Well, let's just say, the sun was shining through the kitchen window and I was running around the house 'gathering' items that I wanted to share.
Here are the results!

My FAVORITE hand-painted bowl, full of pearls.  LOTS of pearls!

Some of my collection of hand-painted buttons, which I am so excited about.  I just wish my photography was better so that I could do them justice.

I grabbed my newest books, each of them covered with different flowers in a chintz like pattern, and with the beautiful gold embossing, they worked well with the bowl's gilding.

I don't know about you, but if I took pictures of my everyday home, you know, the couch with the walls of pictures above it, or the side tables next to the chairs with our various 'must have's' on them, it would be dull and not exciting in the least.  Some of you have beautiful homes and can walk into any room of your house and snap pictures of beauty, but not me.  My home is LIVED IN!  The carpeting is not new nor beautiful, the place is dark, and the preference of my husband is to NOT have lace curtains in the windows...
So I revert to the vignette.  And yes, I do decorate my home with these lovelies, but they look better like this!

Below is a picture of the items I started out with for the Giveaway, and more items have been added.  Be sure and check out the original Pearls and Lace Party here for the rules, and then join me with your lovelies for chances to win.

May you each know the love of God first, the love of family, and the love of friends...
Sometimes we seem to forget that it's all about LOVE!!
Blessings,
Doni

Three Blue Buttons Started it All...

My Giveaway Continues!!! Don't forget to sign up!! You can view it here...

I just saw the three Blue Buttons...and I just couldn't resist.
The Etsy description said she had more...ahhhh, MORE!!!
But, they were in different colors!  COLORS!!! Oh yea, I love color.
So I bought them all....except the yellows.  I'm not a yellow fan...

My Junior Classics would make a nice display with them....let's see, should I use the lavender book?
Or maybe the pink!

How about the light green?

It HAD to be the BLUE book, right??? Seeing as how it was the blue buttons that started it all!!!

But NO!  I was surprised when I just sat the dish of beauties on a piece of lace with the back of a quilt as the backdrop.  It was perfect.  I could see each individual color of the buttons, and each one was beautiful.
So ALL of the colors are my favorite!!  I've always wondered if I had a favorite color!!
I always lean toward the purples, blues, and more recently pinks, but now....
Maybe I should have got the yellow buttons too??

Here's my Giveaway!!  More items have been added!  Be sure and check out all the posts for Pearls and Lace Thursdays!  Lots of chances to win!

Pearls and Lace Thursday #40

Roses and Blues

Maybe I should just say 'Blue Plate Special'!  My wonderful hubby found this beautiful Currier and Ives Plate when we went to Canton at the first of the month.  We live just down the road, so sometimes instead of going to First Monday, we just hit the garage sales and fleas!
Well......I'm excited!  Didn't he do good???

I also found this Trio of blue beauties...

Ceramic Art Co. Ltd.

!!!
How funny is that??

I recently found these blue books by Myrtle Reed, the Master's Violin which I shared with you last week.
Well, I just got the other two, picked one up and started reading it, and wow....I've only just started and am totally excited about the content.  Another book with musicians included in the cast....what could be better?
Victorian era dress, furniture, houses, and LOVE....
I'm in heaven!

And I'd like to invite each of you to participate with me in Pearls and Lace Thursdays.
I share just about anything I think is pretty or lovely to me, and would love for you to do the same.
It doesn't have to have pearls or even lace, but it would be great if it did!
Please attach the url of your post to the link below and then join me getting to know the participants.
I will also be linking up with the following blog parties so be sure and check them out as well.
May you have a blessed week!

A Few Favorites

Are there things you have that you have and absolutely won't ever ever give up?
Here are a few of my fave's...
The volumes of Junior Classics that I'm trying to finish collecting.
I have all but volumes 1, 2, 3, and 9...I'm really hoping to find them all.

These tiny balls of tatting thread are new to me...a gift from the daughter-in-law of one of my favorite little ladies who passed away a few years ago.  Miss Eva Jo was a wonderful little lady.  My husband met her first, and when he and I married, she became a dear person in my life.
It was so sweet of her dil to think of me when she came across these last week, wasn't it??

This old volume contains some absolutly awesome chapters about growing up.  Written from a Christian perspective, each chapter deals with a single subjet and the words of wisdom from the ages is not only still relevant today, but much needed!  I wish books like this were must-reads for those in their teen years.

The Royal Path of Life
Isn't that a wonderful title?

Below is a picture of a giveaway over at Spunbyme!!
She's having a huge lace giveaway, so go by and check it out!

Wishing you each a lovely weekend!!
Blessings, Doni
