April 2019 Favorites and Giveaway

Good morning! The past couple years I have had so much fun looking back over the past year and sharing a recap of my favorites from each month - and it's time of year again! It's so fun to see how my style has changed or sometimes stayed the same throughout the year and to be reminded of techniques I haven't tried in a while either. It is also nice to have a little time to catch my breath and spend time with family, and spend a bit less time in the craft room - or at least spend time working ahead for a busy new year! :)

February 2019 Favorites and Giveaway

Bots of Love - Heffy Doodle Release 6 Blog Hop

Good morning! I'm super excited this morning to be hopping along with Heffy Doodle Stamps to celebrate the newest release - tons of inspiration, and of course a giveaway as well! Read all the way to the bottom for more info on that!



I have a super bright and fun card to share with you today featuring the new Bots of Love Stamp Set!

I colored up those adorable robots - because I wanted to use them all! I also colored one of the little hearts in the set, then die cut them all out with the coordinating Bots of Love Dies. I also heat embossed several of the sentiments on black cardstock and die cut them out using Strips of Ease Heffy Cuts.

The background was some fun ink blending with Distress Oxides - this used a combination of Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, and Blueprint Sketch. I also added some water splatters, then white splatters with thinned down white paint, some black splatters with Pinkfresh Studio's Licorice Liquid Watercolor, and some gold splatters with my Starry Colors Palette! Yep - when in doubt, add ALL the splatters! LOVE all the texture this adds!

Once it dried well, I die cut it with Imperial Stitched Rectangles. I also die cut some small-ish circles with Stitched Circles Dies, and then layered everything on my card, adding the robots with foam adhesive. As a final finishing touch - I added Glossy Accents to coat each entire robot! LOVE the gloss and shine - you can see it best in this photo!

Crafty Friends Stick Together - Heffy Doodle 2018 Creativation Special Stamp Set GIVEAWAY

Good morning! So - this is a SUPER old project that I made LAST year for Creativation, and even though I posted it on my Instagram, I never posted it on my blog here. And since I'm down here in Phoenix for this years show - AND, it just so happens I have a couple spares of these stamp sets still stashed at home, I thought it would be fun to do a giveaway!!!

For the base of this tag, I used Simon Says Stamp Stitched Dress Up Tags Dies - I love the size of this die, and the piece to die cut for the top is super fun as well.

I stamped my images from the stamp set, and colored it up with Copics - which was nice and easy since it was such a cute little image! Finished off with some twine at the top of my tag!

Heffy Doodle and Marvy/Uchida INSTAGRAM Hop

Good morning! Popping in this morning with a couple cards I made for a special hop over on INSTAGRAM as a collaboration between Heffy Doodle Stamps and Marvy Uchida! All the giveaway info and such is posted on Instagram - but I'm adding a post here with some extra details and info on my cards here as well!

I got two different sets from Marvy to combine with my Heffy Doodle stamps - first up, the set of 30 Le Plume Alcohol Markers. I used them to color my fun veggies using Veggie Patch Stamp Set for these! I thought they were super fun colors!

I liked that the colors were shown on the top of the markers, and the tips were a nice soft brush tip that was fun for coloring.

Not a bad assortment of colors either - I quickly swatched them here so I could see them organized by the color names:

Next up - I created this card with the Color In Watercolor Twist Pencils and the Color In Water Brush. These are kind of fun too! They go on like a colored pencil, and blend out nice and creamy and fun with a waterbrush! I used Dino Time from Heffy Doodle for this card:

These also have the colors on the end caps which makes them easy to grab as you are coloring.

These are the colors for these quickly swatched out on watercolor paper. I scribbled with each color, then blended some water on half of each one so I could see how they would look wet:

I put all my colored images onto these simple cards - fun and easy!
