Lovely - Sketch Challenge

Today I have for you a layout I created for a the Sketch Challenge on the Schnockered Scrappers Blog
The photo is of My Mom as a child(in front) with her Mom, Dad, Brother and Sister.  It's a sweet family photo that I love.    For the paper I used a kit from the Scraproom March 2021 Flavors of the Month.   They are  Echo Park Welcome Spring.  The chipboard is Heidi Swapp.  I love how all of the cut circles frame the single photo.

Hope everyone is having a great April Fools Day.  No pranks from me but surely someone will pull one on me....

Pinata Time - The Scrap Room FB

Had fun creating this layout using the Scrap Room Facebook Group Sketch Challenge this month.  I used the kit Echo Park Hello Spring for this one.  I'm in love with the yellow stripes.  I fussy cut the butterflies and added some butterfly buttons from my stash, as well as rub ons(American Crafts), sequins, and a Stamp Set for the title.  I did stamp each letter and cut it out.

Below is the sketch I was working from.  I did flip it on it's side to help with the orientation of my photos this time.

Thank you for stopping by hope your weekend was great!  Happy Monday!

Play Ball Scrap Our Stash Challenge

I know this is not a great picture but I'm so rarely in photos and I cherish this one with Abbigayle.   This was my companies Summer work outing to Picnic and see the Chicago Dogs play(THEY WON!).  The kids really didn't want to go but I made them and we all ended up having a great time together.  Abbi and I made funny face pictures and the lighting is terrible because of the lights on the baseball field.

The layout itself uses a "new" paper pack I added to my stash from Tuesday Morning from Echo Park - Good Day Sunshine.  The baseballs I made with a circle punch and a red pen.  From my stash I used Heidi Swap rub ons, glitter dots from Archivers(blast from the past), the puffy arrow is Basic Grey(another blast from the past) and a wood veneer @ from my veneer box and some older MME Christmas washi tape. OOOH and my journaling block is a stamp from KI Memories.  I just found it recently in my stash. That is probably the oldest thing on my layout.  It's fun to use things that are older, some of them are even coming back around in style!

The sketch comes from the Scrap Our Stash challenge blog March 2020 Sketch Challenge.

I had a great time working on this and remembering our evening as a family.  This is the reason I scrapbook to keep the memories alive.  Happy and not so happy that turns in to happy as the case may be.

Hope your keeping busy in this crazy time and  staying safe with your family.  Thank you for stopping by to take a look.

Scrapbook Layout - Sad Baby

Awwww this very Sad Baby.  Abbi had a couple of days like this and with a Baby you just don't know teething, colic, gas??? It could be anything.  I put her in the bouncy seat to try to get her to calm down but nothing seemed to work.  I still just wanted to snuggle her and make whatever it was all better.  Like a good scrapbooking Mom I took pictures because well that's what we do we document everything even the Sad times.  These are our memories and now they have photos to go with them.

I used a ton of different product on this page.  The papers are Echo Park and really old American Crafts paper.  The embellishments are Echo Park, Simple Stories, among others.  Nothing really goes but it all goes it's so colorful.  And I had a moment where I had an urge to use ORANGE so this made me Happy!  It's a simple layout but effective for the photos!

Hope you enjoyed your weekend!  Thanks so much for joining me today!

Tropical Card Series - Tiki Guys and a Bonus Box

I fell in love with these Tiki Guys from the Tim Holtz Tropical die set.  As I was making this all I could think about was the Tiki Curse from the Brady Bunch episode that totally sucked me in as a kid(did I just date myself like that?).   I do love how these dies cut watercolor paper.  I washed the paper with browns and then inked up the dies after I cut them for more texture.
The tropical leaves are cut out of Echo Park Paper from the 6x6 pad A Perfect Summer.  The blue background is from the same pad.

So to give these cards as a gift I created a Gift Box for them.  I have a tutorial on this box from 2013 which you can find HERE.  I used one of my new 12 x 12 paper pads from Michael's for the patterned paper for the lid and cardstock for the base.  The flamingo is cut with my silhouette and the stamp is from MFT stamps.
This made a lovely Hostess Gift for a Dear Dear Friend from High School that hosted all of our friends for a BBQ this Summer.  It was a wonderful evening with Friends supporting Friends.

So this is the end of this Series.  I feel like cards are getting a bit boring to me I've made some others for my Etsy shop I will share later but I have an itch to Scrapbook so I think layouts are in my near future!  Not that cards are gone for good but I have to go back and forth to keep the mojo alive!

Thank you for joining me for this Series and I hope you return for everything coming up in the future!  Have a Great Weekend!

Tropical Card Series - Pineapples and more Pineapples

Had so much fun using my Distress Oxide and Distress Ink to make the pretty background for this card.  The stamped greeting is from MFT Clear Stamps Written in Watercolor it is stamped in Versamark and embossed in black.  The Pineapple comes from Silhouette and is cut out of Mirracard Gold.  I've added some mini sequins in various pinks as well.

I love how the watercolor turned out I just need to work on the warping.
Here we have the same Pineapple as above and a greeting from Hero Arts.  The patterned paper is Echo Park A Perfect Summer.  I've used one of my Daniel Smith watercolors in  yellow for the drops on the white.
Those pink stripes are from some scraps sitting out on my desk.  It definitely needed more color!  Especially with the Kraft card base.

I hope everyone is enjoying their Summer now that we are right in the middle.  My kids are busy with their summer activities but starting to look forward to school again!  Have a wonderful day!  Thank you for stopping by.

Last Christmas Card For Awhile

I promise for now.  I'm done now for a bit.  But think of it this way I will have a few when I start getting ready for next Christmas.  This one is for the Fusion - Season Greetings Challenge.  There is a sketch and an inspiration piece, you can see these below or on their blog.

I chose to use both items.  The focal image is a Unity Stamp.  The holly and berries are from Silhouette and the paper is from Echo Park.

Thanks so much for stopping by and putting up with my residual Holiday Card issue.  Have a Happy Monday!
