Moss Garden finished!

Yesterday I attached the last crystals on the Moss Garden and now another beautiful Chatelaine mandala is finished.
I did substitute the bugle beads around the sandy center for little delica's because I was not content about the way the bugles did fit in their space. And I used another color of delica's for the flowers on the yellow plants on the bottom side. I didn't want to repeat the blue ones from the left side.
Thank you very much for your support and lovely comments.

May IHSWeekend

This weekend I did some gardening and enjoyed the lovely weather we have over here. Amazing how weeds grow when they are neglected for some time because of a painful back! They seem to take advantage of the situation, as soon as possible.
And I finished the third corner of the Moss Garden. Fortunately stitching is no problem anymore.

Thank you very much for your lovely comments on previous posts.

Moss Garden and 'Randjes'

I am feeling much better now and I am stitching again!
During the rainy days we had last weekend I stitched another bunch of azalea's of the Moss Garden. When this corner is finished I only have the right top corner left to do and some of the crystals. And after that I am going to start the Nymphs Garden. When I'd start that one now I am afraid Moss Garden will be neglected. But Nymphs really can shout ...

And I caught up with all the borders of 'Randje per Week'.

Pilou and Cato in their own baskets on the table while DD is studying.

Moss Garden halfway

The bottom half of Chatelaine's Moss Garden is finished now. I'll continue stitching the azalea bushes and trees on the other half and neglect the noise the Nymph Garden is making.

I also attached all the broderie perse flowers on the Quiltmania Di Ford mystery quilt Mountmellick.

The results of the CT-scan and the echography didn't show anything alarming at all. So we'll continue treating her with a lot of visits and Indonesian food she likes. And hope she'll feel better soon.

Belated IHSWeekend update

At first I'd like to thank you all for the good thoughts and well wishes you sent for mom. She is feeling a bit better now and enjoys the spring and all the visits she gets. Yesterday we went to the hospital for an echography of the abdomen. Because not everything was as clear as should be she has to go for an additional scan next week. I'm a bit worried, but hope for the best.

I stitched another bunch of azalea's and a part of a tree of the Moss Garden.

I also caught up with the 'Randje per Week' project. But on Saturday two new borders are released, so now I am behind again.

Food brings cats together.... When I re-filled the jar with diet food for Casper he and the girls grabbed their chances for an extra meal as soon as they could!

And at last I made a start with the Di Ford Quiltmania mystery Mountmellick. I still have to add a lot of flowers and leafs on the stems. It is the first time I do broderie perse and I am quite content with the result. It is a lovely way to applique flowers.

Thank you very much for all your kind comments. They are much appreciated!

Moss Garden corner

It has been quiet on my blog for some time. One of the reasons is we (my younger sister and I) are worried about mom, who isn't feeling well for some weeks now. Yesterday I went to visit mom and organized some arrangements in the old people's house she lives in. I also asked the GP for a consultation to talk about what we can do to make mom feel better soon. He suggested some blood tests and reduce one of the medications. Now we hope this will help and give a clue.

In between I managed to finish a corner of the Moss Garden. On the photograph I discovered I've forgotten the grasses on the left side. But these can be added later.

And I knitted a pair of socks for DD.

Cato is feeling very at home now and snatches Pilou's favorite sleeping place. Of course Pilou is not very happy with this. The girls still play together, but Pilou is keeping more distance and trying to find a new balance. It'll need some more time to settle down again.

February IHSWeekend

This IHSWeekend I finished the bottom part of Chatelaine's Moss Garden. The stones around the pond are back stitched with Gloriana 'Cobblestone'. Now I've gathered the threads for the azalea bushes on the left side of this part. They are more purple-pink compared to the ones I've stitched already.

Pilou and Cato started chasing each other through the bedrooms today. They still keep some distance and seldom touch each other, but they are getting along very well already. Pilou thought she had a hiding place on top of DD's wardrobe, outside of reach of Cato. But after a while Cato managed to get on top as well!

We are very glad the little ladies like each other so much after such a short time. Tomorrow it is two weeks ago we got Cato from the shelter.

Cato and Pilou

The introductions are going well as you can see. Cato is a bit over-enthusiastic sometimes and then gets a correctional growl from Pilou. She is shy and needs some more time to get used to her new friend. But this afternoon both took a nap in my attic room. Caper isn't interested in Cato at all after some observations. And Cato thinks he is some kind of alien and keeps aloof.

I managed to stitch another part of the Moss Garden. And also stitched some 'Randje per Week' borders. And made some progress on Chateau Hexagon. I'll post pictures of these projects next week.

Welcome to my new followers. Thank you for your interest in my blog. And also thank you for your lovely comments. They are much appreciated.

Azalea bushes and trees

This is the first of the eight azalea bushes in different colours. I am really looking forward to see how the others will be. So if it is quiet over here for some time you know I'm stitching.

And this is my furry assistant Pilou. She is a bit over enthusiastic catching the threads and gets stuck in the fabric with her hairy paws. So she had to be banished to the other side of the table.

Last Friday we went to an animal shelter in Almelo to see if they had a friend for Pilou. We found a very friendly three colored (calico) young female cat we named Cato. She is sterilized, vaccinated an chipped yesterday. We can fetch her in a couple of days, when she is recovering well.

January IHSW

During this IHSWeekend I stitched a part of the right side of Chatelaine's Moss Garden mandala. On the picture I found my lost needle again. Here is a photo of my Moss Garden as far as I've stitched till now.

And I joined the 'Randje per Week and stitched Saturday's 'randjes'. This project is hosted by Annelies and Simone on the 'Randje per Week' blog. All the borders are original on old school samplers Annelies has in her collection. I am stitching my borders on linen band with Gentle Art threads of different colors.

Thank you for your visits and lovely comments.

The entire flock of sheep

During the vacation I completed the entire flock of Little House Needleworks sheep.
And I stitched a lot of the left side gate part of Chatelaine's Moss Garden. I still have to back stitch the lanterns. But the lines are not clear on the chart, so I'll wait for a better one to be uploaded after some time. In the meantime I continue stitching the gate parts on the right side and the bottom.

And I printed the first part of the new Mystery 17, the Nymph's Garden. I ordered the kit at ECC, so another project is going to start when the materials arrive. IF I have an empty set of scroll bars large enough for this piece.

Happy New Year to all of you!

Moss Garden center

Finally I finished the center part of Chatelaine's Moss Garden mandala. I decided to stitch all the bonsai trees instead of the Buddha's or a mix of both. And I changed the beads from the flowers on the lower yellow plants from blue as charted to purple. All beads on the other sides have the same color as the accompanying lilies, except the ones at the bottom.
I still have to attach the bugle beads around the sand in the middle and the cubes.

A torii gate and two lanterns

Yesterday I finished the top part of Chatelaine's Moss Garden mandala.
But I think I am going to back-stitch some of the pinkish stones around the pond, as is suggested in the instructions.

Goldfish

As you can see I stitched the goldfish over one. And I think they are big Koi carps instead of goldfish. They have different colors on each side of the Moss Garden.
I've started stitching the lanterns on both sides of this part already.

Thank you for your lovely comments!

A bonsai tree and a beaded corner

During the last couple of days I added some parts to Chatelaine's Moss Garden. I decided to leave all the Buddha's out and replace them by the lovely bonsai trees.

All the beads are attached to the left top corner. I still have to add the gold thread and the beads to the right top corner. And after that I will continue with the goldfish over one in the pond, the tori gate and the garden on top.

But part 6 of Chateau Hexagon has arrived yesterday, so perhaps I'll take a short sidetrack to this project.

More Moss Garden

This is the first mossy well corner of Chatelaine's Moss Garden. I really like this part. Imagine how it would be to sit on the mossy stones and listen to the murmuring of the water....

September IHSWeekend

During the September International Hermit and Stitch Weekend I stitched another part of Chatelaine's Moss Garden.
Thanks for your lovely comments on my previous post and the Autumn at  HRH finish. They are much appreciated.

A finish and a new start

It's done! Autumn at Hawk Run Hollow is finished!

And I started stitching Chatelaine's Moss Garden. It really is fun to use all these lovely different and variegated threads again. Compared with this the Needle Point Silks of HRH were a bit boring.
