Technology is amazing. I am posting this from my Droid cause I'm away from the house and my computer is dead.

Anyway, I don't know much about Harvey Pekar but I do know that we all owe him something for what he's done for comics. I hope my tribute captures the spirit of this great man.

Oh, BTW, in case any of you were wondering: I drew all this, man. Not traced, drew! :)

I never knew or met Harvey Pekar, but I am definitely a fan of his work.

He was able to find the interesting truth in everyday occurrences.

I illustrated two American Splendor short stories for Harvey in 2006 & 2008. I had no contact with Harvey, everything came through my editor at Vertigo, but I will always remember seeing his crazy layouts for the first time, in lieu of an actual script. Harvey was a unique voice in comics and he is missed.

Here are also a few character studies I did of Harvey from 2006.

We decided to devote this week to the memory of Harvey Pekar, who left us recently.
I'll leave it to the fellow twartists who were lucky to work with him to share some memories.

So long, Harvey, you will be missed.
