Edie goes Mexican!

Hi!
I couldn't resist sharing this picture of my darling Edie joining in the fun at Chiquito's Mexican restaurant at the Victoria Square complex in Belfast.
We were all out for a birthday treat to celebrate my daughter's 40th birthday. It was the first time I'd ever tried Mexican cooking apart from chilli con carne so I wasn't sure I would like it all that well.
I am so happy to be proven wrong in this instance. The food was delicious and we all had a wonderful time there.
The staff were really attentive and helpful and we were able to sit and enjoy our meal with no sense of hurry.
Edie loved it! She loves company and socialising and now it would appear Mexican food!
She certainly was the star of the show. I don't think her Aunty Karen minded being upstaged one wee bit. :)

Jude took this picture with his new phone and I think he did a great job.
We will certainly be back to sample more of the fabulous menu as soon as I can think of an excuse! :)

I hope you have had a great week end.

Take care!

Edie's first visit

Hi and welcome to the blog this afternoon.
We had a lovely visit from our little grand daughter yesterday on her 3rd week old 'birthday'. :)
I thought this pic was so funny - she conks out completely after her feed and nothing would disturb her!
Like most babies she's had a bit of tummy settling going on so she is propped up to make sure that everything stays put. LOL
She is the image of her Mum when she was born and I think this pic is so sweet of both of them.

I have made a couple more keepsake boxes - I'm not sure what I'm going to fill them with but at least I'll have plenty to play with.
This time I've embossed the whole box using the Martha folder from Tonic and added wee embellishments from my other Tonic dies. The flowers are Sue Wilson ones from her Classic Rose collection.

I've cut the sentiment out of the keepsake frame die. It's a lovely dainty size for those smaller projects.
The little cameo is from one of the earlier releases and works perfectly with the new dies.

I've used Sensational sprigs and a couple of corner dies with a centre from yet another set for the embellishments on this box. I love the way all Tonic dies work together.
The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

I'm probably not going to get a lot of posting done this week. It's back to grandmother duties tomorrow.
I'll check back in when I can!
Have a lovely day whatever your plans.

Edie's first official photo

Edie Elizabeth Rose

This is Edie's first official photo taken in the hospital. I couldn't resist posting it.
I love the way she has hold of Mum's finger and the way Dad has his protective hand on her head.
My daughter had several photos taken and there's one for each of the family as a keepsake.
It's certainly one that I will treasure always.

One week old today

Hi and welcome to the blog.
It's been a hectic week but a very lovely one too. Our little poppet is one week old today and still loving her sleep in the daytime. I think Mum and Dad wish she would discover that it's a good thing to sleep at night too! :) It's early days though and I've no doubt she will find her own rhythm soon enough.
After a busy week looking after grandsons, my DH finally got a chance to have a precious cuddle this afternoon.
Like most men, he's a little bit wary of such a tiny baby but Edie charmed him nonetheless. She's opening her eyes a little more and it's so funny to watch her wee facial expressions. I know DH managed to capture the wide awake Edie but I am not able to transfer his images to my PC - well not yet at any rate.

I hope you are having a good weekend. The weather hasn't been too bad here, just the odd shower and we've managed to avoid them so far.
I spent a wee while in the garden centre looking at table and chair sets. The one I had set my heart on has gone so it looks as though a bit more looking around is required. I'm going to need planters and hanging baskets so that should give me the excuse to visit Hillmount and Dobbies - never a chore at any time!

Thank you for popping in today.
Catch you soon!

Little Sleepyhead

Hi and welcome to the blog today.
I don't have a card etc to show as I'm off out and about doing the grandmothery thing at my daughter's home.
It's such a chore - NOT!!

Miss Edie slept most of the time so I snuck in a couple of pics when I had the chance. :)

Isnt' she a cutie? The midwives were there when I called in and she wasn't exactly happy about being prodded and poked but settled down as soon as she was dressed again and that was her for the duration.
I love her fluffy wee head - what a mop of hair!

I'm back again tomorrow - just try stopping me, so no doubt you will be regaled with  more pics if I get the chance.
Thank you for calling in.

Edie Elizabeth Rose

 Hi again.
I am thrilled and delighted to introduce you to my new little grand daughter,

Edie Elizabeth Rose

She was born this morning at 6.15 am weighing in at 7lbs 3ozs
We are just back from seeing her for the first time and she slept throughout the visit even though I counted 12 visitors at one point!
Janette, my daughter said she fed like it was going out of fashion after she was born, so I reckon she was well content!
Mum and baby are doing well and I can't wait to have another wee cuddle asap!

I'm still smiling from ear to ear. :)
