Nuvo Watercolour Pencils

Good morning and welcome to the blog today.

I've been having a play with my new Tonic watercolour pencils on kraft card, Neenah Desert Storm to be precise.

I've used Tonic Studios Tag layering dies for the card base and layers

The gorgeous Evelyn lace border

The parquet pattern from the Framed Screens collection

Rolled flowers from the Kaleidoscope insert collection

Foliage from the Shadow box main die collection

Gathered Twigs distress ink

Tag from the Easel Card creator die set

Nuvo Crystal drops - Berry Red, Dandelion and Ripened Pumpkin

Papers from CC Shabby Chic collection

Sentiment from stash

😃 I just noticed my Dandelion drop had done a runner after I took the pic. LOL  You will have to imagine it there. 

Nuvo pencils - 

Skin tones - Barely Bisque, Soft Apricot, Iced Tea

Hair - Caramel Popcorn, Pale Blonde, Roast Chestnut

Dress and bow - Toffee Apple, Tangerine Tango

Shoes - Raven Black

I stamped the image in Versafine Black Onyx and embossed it with Nuvo Detail Clear Embossing powder.

I applied a colour wash using the red and orange colours on a spare piece of kraft card and die cut the flowers from that. 

The framed screen section was cut into and inked through to give the pattern on the papers and then used as a backdrop for the main image.

I finished with a fibre and jute ribbon topped with a spare flower.

Nuvo Watercolour Pencils

Good afternoon and welcome to the blog today.

I've been having a play with my new Nuvo Watercolour Pencils from Tonic Studios and one of the large floral images from Sheena Douglass's 'In Full Bloom' collection called Precious Poppy.

The pencils are available in two tins of twelve pencils each. There is a Hair and Skin Tones set and a Brilliantly Vibrant set.

I found the colours laid down very easily and blended without any bother.

I used Crafter's Companion water colour card to stamp onto.

Tonic's Detail Classic Silver embossing powder and Nuvo Clear Mark ink pad. 

The texture of the card stock gave an interesting look to the sentiment and edges of the card which were also embossed. 

I used Spring Daffodil and Tangerine Tango for the flower centre.

Spring Daffodil, Cotton Candy and Toffee Apple for the petals.

The leaves were coloured with Lemon Grass,True Blue and Spring Daffodil.

These are really lovely pencils to work with and I'm definitely going to be using them for a lot more projects in the future. 😊
