Floral tag

Awful pics, sorry. The light was not playing nice yesterday at all.
I've another tag today but I thought I would brighten up the mood a little with more pastel colours this time.

Distress ink - shaded lilac, squeezed lemonade, worn lipstick
Basic Grey butterfly stamp
Flower stamps - Papertrey Ink
Inkylicious sentiment
DieNamics Blueprints # 3 dies for bow, ribbon and flower
Lasting Impressions background stencil
Embossing paste
Inka Gold - Platinum
Border stamp - Clarity
Tag base cut with Sizzix Tim Holtz die
Cream hammer card used on the smooth side but the inking really brings out the 'hammer' texture through the card. Love the effect!

I've coloured the embossing paste liberally with the Inka Gold paint and it really shimmers.
I have cut 2 large and 2 small layers for the flower and I've stitched them with little gathers to plump it up a bit
'Nuff said - my sewing does not bear close scrutiny. :)

Thank you for dropping in today.
The boys are back in town as their Mum is back to work today, so I see maths, spelling, mental arithmetic and comprehension in my future.

Take care and have a good day.

CAS and Hot Pink!

Awful weather, awful pics. Sorry they are so grey but looking out the window it's no wonder. Ugh! I'm so glad to be inside today.

Washi tape? Why? What is it and do I need it?

I've looked at this tape many times but couldn't really 'get' it to be truthful and I didn't want to spend nearly £3 a roll to find out if I liked it or not. So why have I got it on my card today?

It was cheap as chips is why. £2.50 for four 10m rolls of varying widths. I will admit the pink is 'hot' but just for an experiment, I could put up with the colour. :)

Card base is an old-fashioned 4 x 6" landscape card. I've applied the tape to some spare card stock and die cut it with my Die-Namics fish tail dies. I've used a piece of bakers twine for the texture and left it there. Scary or what?
Now that I've managed to break my duck with washi tape, I've lots more ideas floating around in my head - all of them very simple! :)

Now to answer the question you are asking - where did I get it? As luck would have it I was shopping in Ikea for a new desk for my craft room and spotted packs of this tape in the gift wrapping section. I found it in several colours but didn't buy them all in case I didn't like it.
I may be back sooner than usual to nab some more!

Right oh, I'm off to play. Catch you soon!
