Zistle Trade #42

A trade I have been meaning to post for a while, featuring what might by one of my favorite non-Rockies cards, a Tim Wakefield rookie. I still remember the 1992 postseason when he was a rookie coming off an 8-1 regular season (ok, I didn't remember his exact record), watching that knuckleball dance around. Sid Bream was out by the way.

Zistle Trade #29

Catching up on some Zistle.com trading. richardsonpilot put a dent in my 2013 Update 1971 mini wantlist. I really need to get some pages for these instead of keeping them in penny sleeves in the keeper box.

Zistle Trade #25

Another smallish Zistle trade to post, this time highlighted by a minor league card of Brad Ausmus. Ausmus was selected by the Rockies in the expansion draft from the Yankees, but was traded to the Padres before making his MLB debut. The small Rockies logo on his shin guard are enough to add this to the Rockies catchers collection.

Zistle Trade with Shoebox Legends

Another Zistle trade, this time with fellow blogger Shoebox Legends. The other side of trade can be found here. The card to the right completes my 2013 Heritage wantlist, actually the card to the right IS my 2013 Heritage wantlist. I will never get excited for a set comprised of posed headshots and close-ups of players in the dugout, and even worse the dead tree that was in all the 2012 Heritage Rockies cards is back for 2013, at least this card is dead tree free. So far this the only Wilton Lopez Rockies card so it's nice to have for the PC.

Also coming along was another Heritage card, this time for the Chris Iannetta collection, Darren Holmes, Darryl Hamilton and a red Jordan Pacheco. Two more 2011 Gypsy Queens to widdle down the list and some catchers with an Expos Ron Hassey and sweet Masked Marauders of Brad Ausmus from 1998 Collector's Choice. I really need to start looking for the rest of this catcher based subset.

Trade with Kyle D

A new trade with Kyle D bringing some high priority wants my way.
Edwin Bellorin was need for the "One of Every Rockie" collection and the last catcher I needed. One of the few players with only one card with the Rockies, no other sets, no parallels, no inserts, just this one card. I remember Bellorin for having big numbers in the hitting paradise that is AAA Colorado Springs, then in his first major league at bat in his first major league start, pulled a hamstring running out a grounder and was sent to the disabled list. He did return to the Rockies playing in 8 games, starting 2, from 2007-2009.

A Heroic 2 x 3 Trade

A trade with 2 x 3 heros with some really nice stuff coming by way. First off a 1994 O-Pee-Chee Walt Weiss, I have never seen a '94 OPC before and this one of the new Rockies manager is a pretty nice addition. The floating heads card is the only Rockies card of Giovanni Carrara and was one of my most needed cards. The Rafael Betancourt is my first and checks off another Rockies from the list along with some always appreciated Rockies catchers and an old favorite in Darren Holmes. Finished off by some Rockies mini's, some catchers from 2012 Topps and a couple of the 1971 style Archives from this year. Thanks for the great trade!

Zistle Trade #1

I don't think I really profess my love for www.zistle.com enough on this blog, but I do love the site for organizing collections and want-lists. I recently completed my first trade on Zistle, and really love how easy it is to start a trade with the want-list/trade-list capabilities on the site. Coming my way was the usual trade package, some 1992 Pinnacle needs including the Dibble to the right and some random catchers for the "Tools of Ignorance" collection. What could me more awesome than an Expo catcher with a goalie style mask. The 2009 John Baker is a personal favorite card of mine and some additions to the Ron Hassey collection.

Trade with Bob

Another completed trade, this time with Bob. Going his way were some 1995 Collector's Choice SE singles, coming back were some random needs from my Zistle wantlist. Some Rockies from when I starting following the team in Jason Bates, David Nied and Darren Holmes, some 1992 Pinnacle and a couple 1987 O-Pee-Chee, a set I am going to try a little harder to complete at some point. Also a couple catchers including some awesome Conlon cards I needed and a Chris Kelley Score with the Stanley Cup Champs logo.
