Congratulations To The Breeding Partnership Of Andrew Hall!

The good news is that Andrew Hall (RJ) won his first lifetime start in the last race at Calder yesterday.
The even better news is that it means a breeder's award to the partnership of me, Damon and Mel, and Gene.
Can you say Ka - ching?

Do You Remember R.J?

I went to see him at Calder this weekend, and according to his trainer he is doing well and fairly close to making his first start. He is still not officially named, but look at the name selections they chose... (see if any name stands out to you)

Big Horse Racing News of the Week

Any Given Saturday - Darley has finalized a deal to purchase AGS for stud duty after his scheduled Breeder's Cup start this fall. Darley now has three of the top Classic winners/starters from this year on their stud roster. They had purchased interest in Street Sense and Hard Spun back in May.

More Happy - becomes first stake winner for Freshman sire, Vindication after winning the Adirondack Stakes at Saratoga. More Happy is trained by Bob Baffert.

He breezed the 5F under regular rider Calvin Borel at Saratoga.

Calvin Borel - will be honored later this year with the Mr. Fitz award from the National Turf Writers Association. The Mr. Fitz is given to a grup or individual who typifies the spirit of horse racing.

Sharp Susan - will run in the Lake Placid Stakes tomorrow at Saratoga. The race is 1 1/8 on the turf. (this is the neice to Certain Circles)

Kodiak Kowboy - seeks his third straight stakes win in todays Saratoga Special for 2 year olds. He is trained by Steve Asmussen and by current leading Freshman sire, Posse.
Graeme Hall - had two 2 year old winners at Hippodromo Camarero in Puerto Rico. Charlestown Flash, a dk. bay colt, won a 5 F MSW, and Me Oh My, a bay filly, won a 5.5F MSW.

Graeme Hall

Graeme Hall has sired a horse named Harrow Land in Saturdays G3 Lone Star Derby. Two of my yearlings this year are by Graeme Hall so I will be rooting for this horse to win. I'm not sure if it will be televised on any of the networks but if you have TVG/HRTV or live close to a simulcast facility you will be able to watch it at 4:47 Eastern time. The race is 1 mile and 1/16th for three year olds and is valued at $300,000.
