Quote Of The Day

“After reading all the quotes, I thought [trainer] Graham Motion’s quote summed it up as he said, ‘She had ten reasons to lose and didn’t use any of them.’ I don’t think anything will ever do it justice unless you were there.”
Trainer Steve Asmussen on Rachel Alexandra’s history-making victory in the Woodward Stakes (G1) on September 5 at Saratoga Race Course. The three-year-old Medaglia d’Oro filly, who arrived back at her home base at Churchill Downs on Wednesday, became the first female ever to win the Woodward.

Quote Of The Day

"[Curlin] is spoiling me," Asmussen said. "People ask me what it's like to have Curlin, and I say it's like being a little kid and getting to meet Santa Claus. You know, 'I wanted to believe you're real, and you really are real.' “

Quote Of The Day

“[Mentally], he’s matured. I don’t see a big
change in him with the fact that he’s simply older.
He’s still physical, somewhat playful, but he understands
racing better than he did last year.”

Trainer Steve Asmussen on Kentucky Derby
Presented by Yum! Brands (G1) contender Pyro,
who is entered in the $750,000 Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (G1) on
Saturday at Keeneland Race Course
