Love Canvas

 Hello Friends!

This is day 2 of my 14 days of Valentine Craftiness. And today I have a 3 inch canvas to show you :)

I have had these little chipboard things forever! I still have some from the pack. They are from Maya Road. For mailing cards the little chipboard pieces can be a little bulky but for a canvas they are perfect.

Here's a close up. I used sprays and silver paint. I also used a puff paint for the middle of the heart.

Here is the canvas before it was painted. I used modeling paste through a stencil and then glued on these two chipboard pieces.

Then I gessoed the whole thing. And then I sprayed and painted it.

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope to see you tomorrow! :)

Festival of the Arts Layout

Hello Everybody!

I am sharing a layout I made for a Facebook Challenge group.  It's called Confessions of a Paper Addict and a super talented lady named Virginia Walker.  You can also see her on Instagram and YouTube and she has an awesome store on Etsy with cut files!

So I used her messy circles cut file for this layout out.

I have been wanting to do a rainbow effect for awhile so this seemed to all come together.  I sponged Distress Paint on the main cardstock.  And when I cut those letters (silhouette store font Fun) I painted those also.

The little bits are chipboard pieces from EK Success-a disney set of them, and then Pebbles from a loonnngggg time ago.  LOL  And some Queen and Company gems.

I'm trying to do my own challenge which is to make 30 scrapbook pages before I buy anything new.  This is my 10th one.  I haven't bought anything new (woohoo!) I don't always post the layouts but I'm definitely trying to stick with it.  :)

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...stay colorful! :)

Black, White, and Bright Pink Layout

Hello Everybody!

Happy April 1st!  I can't believe we are in the 4th month of 2015 already!  But what is fun about a new month?  New challenges!  Woo!  Hoo!  And the challenge at Scrap It Girl is to do a project using black, white, and one other color.

My 3rd color was hot pink or bright pink.  I had a lot of fun making this layout using a picture of my favorite little niece. :)

I used picked raspberry distress paint for the Tim Holtz tissue paper.  I had put in on my mat and spritzed water.  I pulled the black cardstock background paper through what little was left and those are the faint spots here and there.  They are still pink.  I was pleasantly surprised!

I used Viva's Ferro graphite for the black paste areas.  I used light modeling paste for the white hearts (heidi swapp stencil).  I found this white tulle in my stash and how lucky it was white!  The corners and pink hearts are from Thickers (and the true color inspiration for this layout).  Then I had to use pink rhinestones.  :)

Be sure and stop by Scrap It Girl and see what my teammates create.  So much beauty and inspiration!

Until next time my friends...Live in Color! :)

My Favorite Technique-I just can't stop!

Hello Everybody!

I have one more card to share with you tonight.  I made this card for a friend of ours who's birthday was this week.  I thought it would be great to submit it to the Simon Says Stamp and Show: Anything Goes-No Rules!

I bought some new tissue paper the other day and used it on this card.  This technique is from Tim Holtz's A Compendium of Curiosities Volume 2 on page 38.  It really is my favorite!  I almost have all of the steps memorized!

I embossed Happy Birthday (TPC Studio stamp) with gold embossing powder.

The world is a Jenni Bowlin stamp and the crown is a Tim Holtz grunge board piece.

I hope you like this card as much as I do!  Until next time my friends...happy crafting!  See you again real soon! :)

Maps and Flowers Card

Hello Everybody!

Tonight I am sharing with you a card I am putting in 2 challenges.  Both were inspirations that help put this card together!

Moxie Fab WorldMap to Your Heart Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.  This challenge is to use maps in an innovative way.  And there is still time to play so come on!

CAS-ual FridaysCFC34: Using chipboard.  This challenge is to use chipboard.  Go check it out!

Here is my card.  I took chipboard and covered it with maps from a map book.  I used My Mind's Eye Twine for the background-just wrapped it around the card.  The letters are from Kaiser Scrapbook/Kaiser Craft.  The center of my flower is a crystal sticker from Michael's.  Scroll on down, and I'll show you what I did!

Here is my map book or atlas :)  Yup 1996 and only $4.27.  Wow how things have changed! It looks like a cut a piece out for a previous project!  LOL!

My chosen maps.

My chipboard flowers which I don't know what brand they are, but I have had them for a long time.  :)

I put glue on the front of the flowers and spread it out.  I used a makeup sponge applicator because I want to make sure the glue gets all the way to the ends of the flower.  I used Glossy Accents, but a craft glue can do the same thing.  I did use a brayer to make sure there were no bubbles.

I used an exacto knife and scissors to make cut these out.  I did not punch out the centers.  There isn't any need to.

I inked the edges with a black Copic marker.  It's so nice to get into the small spaces!  The flowers needed something to stand out.  I like the maps and the miss you.  I think it's a sweet way to let someone know that you do miss 'em! :)  Until next time my friends...send a card to a far away pal!

Kraft and Twine Card

Hello Everybody!

I am playing with all of my new fun things that I got at Christmas!  Plus I went to the scrapbook store and couldn't help myself!  But I did exercise some caution so I didn't come back home with way way more stuff--just a litte bit more stuff ;)

The card I have here I am entering into 3 challenges:

CAS-ual Fridays: CFC33 Create a clean and simple project using Kraft and Twine

Simon Says Stamp:  Anything goes!

Wee Memories:  WMC80 Anything Goes!

So here's my card...Scroll on down and I'll show you what I did!

Here is my blank Kraft canvas.

Here's my blank chipboard canvas. ;)  I painted them white (which I don't have a picture of but trust me, I painted them.)

Here is a little treat I got from my local scrapbook store.  Lime green twine by My Mind's Eye.  Fun!

So after my chipboard letters dried, I wrapped the twine around them.  I used a little glue on the front and taped the back with the winding piece.  Here is the dot of the eye.  I used a clothes pin to help the glue dry.

Here is the back of the h.

Here's the front.

I adhered the letter with Glossy Accents to the Kraft card.  Then using a fine black pen I doodled a frame around the edges.

I have Martha Stewart twine-which I like-but I found the twine from My Mind's Eye to be a little thicker.  So I thought that was cool and I would tell you in case you are shopping around for twine.  :)

Until next time my friends...enjoy the last days of December...and 2011!
