St. Patrick's Day Layout

Yay!  This layout was picked in the Top 3 at Stick It Down! :)

Hello Everybody!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day-although a little late in the evening.  Here is a St. Patrick's Day layout that was inspired by the sketch at Stick It Down.

I knew I wanted shamrocks-and I found 3 glitter foam shamrocks that were so old the adhesive didn't work on the back LOL.  No worries!  So I cut out more shamrocks from my silhouette.  The true green ones are distress ink mowed lawn that I inked on there.  And I painted the lighter green ones with Sparks Fairy Wings acrylic paint by Finnabair.  Side note-I love sparks paint.  I just sort of discovered them and they are so glittery and shiny! :)

When I was going through the St. Patty's day cut files I saw the light bulb and had to use it.  I cut out glitter green paper for it.  The title with the arrows are also cut from the silhouette on white cardstock inked with distress oxide lucky clover.

Then I added some gems and used some washi tape to edge the middle paper.  Our pictures are from instagram.  So Fun! :)

Here is the sketch:

Here is the close up of the light bulb:

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends-yay green! :)

Lucky Card

Hello Everybody!

I made this card and forgot to post it yesterday!

Green is the background-I took the picture of the card on a white paper lol.  I cut Yupo paper on the Silhouette.  Then I used the old school Ranger inks to color the shamrock.  I cut glitter gold paper using Tim Holtz letter dies (I love these!).  The white panel is a shamrock embossing folder-this is the first time I have used it.  Woo Hoo! :)

I am submitting this card to the following challenges:

Green Inspiration

Hello Everybody!

It seems so strange that St. Patrick's Day is one week, and Easter is the next!

Over at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge the monthly challenge is to use green.  That's it?  Count me in!

So I created this:

I posted some pictures on Instagram of the background process.  I used a roller and garden green craft ink from stampin up on a yellow cardstock sheet.  Then I added Close to Cocoa with the roller.

Here you can see the brown stamp border-that's a Tim Holtz stamp and I used gathered twigs distress ink.  There are some yellow dots in the center bottom and that is a stencil and a distress marker-mustard seed.  That is done randomly throughout the page.  The gold mesh was from a garage sale.

I used the Silhouette to cut out the shamrocks.  I used green Smooch paint stuff around the edges to give it a gold glittery effect plus a rhinestone in the middle.

The hand is a Prima stamp which is stamped on grey vellum.  I thought it turned out really cool.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  Happy Spring! :)

Hat o' Shamrocks

Hello Everybody!

I made a card using this super cute image from Silhouette (cutting machine).  I love their images and spend lots of time just looking at them.  Finally, I cut something out!  ;)

I embossed the panel with Swiss dots on the cuttlebug.  I used scraps (yay!) for the hat.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Stuck On U Sketches: March Die Cut Challenge: Lucky Green (the hat and shamrocks are the die cut from the Silhouette Store)

Thank you for stopping by today!  Until next time my friends...Good Day!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Hello Everybody!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!  Usually I make cards for friends and family, but this year I was super busy.  So I made a few ATC cards to celebrate St. Patty's Day in a crafty way.

The Proud to be Green is on a card where I used Gelatos.  I'm trying use them more.  Roni at Ink Stains showed a cool way to use gelatos and that is what I was trying there.  The beer card is a card background using alcohol inks.  I love alcohol inks! :)

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...may the luck of the Irish be with you! :)

Irish Map ATC

Hello Everybody!

Ok I am back with one more ATC tonight.  I am entering it into the Digi Haven Challenge: Green.

The map is from Graphic Fairy and you can find it here.  I tore the edges around it and used walnut distress ink to age it.  Then I put it on a black ATC card.  I added a tag from DCWV with a clover rhinestone and a green ribbon.  I love this map!

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...it's time to wash my green shirt ;)

Technique Tuesday-Pop Up Style!

Hello Everybody!

Happy New Year!  Wow-2013!  A whole month of writing 2012 until when can get our brains retrained-LOL.

So we are starting the year off with an awesome technique!  You can find the instructions here for making the pedestal pop up piece.  The recipient will have a happy surprise when he or she opens your card!

Make sure you stop by Technique Tuesday to see all of the DT's beautiful cards!  They all did a fantastic job! :)

Here is the front of my card.  It's a leprechaun belly!  I inked the edges of his suit with gold.  The buttons were originally white but I colored them with Ranger's gold alcohol ink.  And I glued on this orange yarn I have had forever-the perfect color orange too!  I love it when a plan comes together!

And then you open it to see clover goodness!  I cut this out on my cricut using the Celebrate with a Flourish cartridge.

Thank you for stopping by!  I can't wait to visit Pedestal Pop Up Cards!  Until next time my friends...Have a wonderful Happy New Year!

Tidbit Tuesday--Gold

Hello Everybody!

I hope your Tuesday is going well!  I don't know if you have seen this Krylon pen before but it is awesome.  I got it at Christmas from my mom-in-law (who is awesome-love you!).  I hadn't really thought about it before I got it.  I have a role of gold leaf and glue and press.  But this-let me show you!

It's a pen and look how great!  I use it to outline shapes.  Baby steps ;)

Here's a card I did using the gold pen on the circle.

Here's a close up.  It was easy to even out and make the circle pop.  This is an easier way to use gold!

Until next time my friends...add that Midas Touch! ;)

Saint Patrick's Day Card

Hello Everybody!

I still have a few more St. Patty Day cards to make!  Thankfully, Laurel at Inspired By has a great inspiration picture to get my juices flowing....

I used the streamers as inspiration for my shamrocks.  I stamped each one and colored it with a green Copics marker.  I layered the strips of light green shamrocks paper on the bottom.  I used my slice to cut the scalloped oval and used a G Studio stamp (love this stamp!) for the sentiment.

Here's a close up of the bottom half of the card.  I used my gold leaf pen to outline the oval.  Love that gold!

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...there's still a little time to make some Saint Patrick's Day cards!

My Cards for the Blog Hop

Hello Everybody,

Sorry that I have been quiet the past couple of days.  Sometimes life gets really busy!  So while I've been driving, I have been trying to think of the best way to share my Blog Hop cards with you.  I thought about breaking them up or grouping them by theme.  But I also know that now that the Blog Hop is over, I am ready to move to other projects.

I loved the challenge of doing all 50 cards.  And I'm not going to lie, it was a challenge and one that was done towards the very end.  Whew!  But all that aside, I feel like all of the great designs helped further my cardmaking abilities.  So I am going to make the biggest post I have ever made (unless Blogger has other plans for me) ;)  So here it goes...

I am going to show you my cards and the Leap # they are.  You can go here to see the Blog Hop line-up.  I was going to show all of the sketches...but that's a lot of work at this point, and I really want to share my cards so I hope that is ok!

If you have a question about something leave a comment and I will answer you back.  You can also find me on Facebook here.
