Bad Mood Mixed Media Page

 Hello Friends!

Do you have a long list of things you should be making-birthday cards, halloween things, maybe some tags? Me too! But I couldn't focus on that. I just wanted to play-so I created this page in my little art journal book. It's 4x6 so it's enough "real estate" :)

When I chose this page the purple and and pink ink were already on there. I think I was using up something LOL.  The lady I printed off from my silhouette software and bought from the Silhouette design store-clickchic is the designer. She is just printed on regular copy paper. I used a paint brush and water to tear the paper around her. I adhered her with tim holtz collage medium and added more on top.

And then I played! I used mica hocus pocus and winterberry distress crayons for the feathers. For the edge of her hat I used hickory smoked crayon and antique linen crayon for her skin. I used a little left over hocus pocus for her dress.

Then I used distress ink villianous potion and my simon says stamp heart stencil and added hearts. I used a script tim holtz stamp and faded jeans distress ink and added some stamping. And the sentiment is where the bad mood comes from LOL.

Here's a close up. I think I can relate ;) LOL.

This week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is Mixed Media--I am submitting this art journal page.

Happy Birthday Cow Card

 Hello Friends!

I made a birthday card for my friend who loves cows.

I used silver cardstock for the base. On watercolor paper I sprayed the following Tim Holtz sprays: stain wilted violet, chipped sapphire, blueprint sketch, mica snowflurries, and Dylusions crushed grape mica spray.  Then I embossed it with a star embossing folder from cuttlebug (called star blanket).  I applied Finnabair old silver was with my finger on the stars to help them pop.

The cow is from Silhouette and I cut it out on my cameo.  So is the hat. I used stickles and a pom pom to make the hat a little jazzy.

The grass is a Lawn Fawn grass die. I used the following sprays for the grass from Tim: shabby shutters oxide, mowed lawn stain, rustic wilderness stain, and mica tree lot.

Here is a side view to hopefully pick up some of the shine of the mica and wax. This card was super fun to make :)

I am linking this to the Simon Says Monday Challenge: Happy Birthday.  Simon Says Stamp Challenge is 12 years old--Happy Birthday! :)

Unicorn Birthday Card

 Hello Everybody!

I made a birthday card for my niece. I cut out a unicorn from my Silhouette Cameo and painted it with Anthropology Art purple glittery paint.

I bought a paper pad of Holographic paper from DCWV from Joann's last month. It's one of those things that I could save forever because the paper is so cool. But I am trying to turn over a new leaf and use up my stuff.

No more FORO-fear of running out LOL.  So that cool paper is the background and then I used a cuttlebug heart embossing folder for the white panel. I took a silver marker and outlined the white panel before I glued it on. I am really liking that look whether it is gold or silver. I feel like the marker outline helps make it look finished. The sentiment is an old one from Tim Holtz and I used a purple marker to make it pop. This is my favorite birthday sentiment. It's just an easy sentiment to use I guess. :)

I am submitting this into the challenge at Seize the Birthday-#230 Anything goes Topping-embossing. (Heart embossing folder by Cuttlebug.)

Rainbow Christmas

 Hello Everybody!

Happy December! Christmas is on it's way and I know I am very excited about that!

This month for the Rainbow Card Challenge we are all about Festive Rainbow! And this is a grand finale if you will.  This is our last challenge at the Rainbow Card Challenge.  It makes my heart sad, too.  Hey friend-"Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened" -Dr. Seuss.  So true right!

We have had some good times and beautiful colors to be inspired by.  Some were challenging colors like Sage and Mauve (for me). Thank you to everyone who has joined our challenges over the years.  Big Hugs friends!

Now here's my card:

Rainbow Christmas is a challenge for me too-LOL. I am so programmed with red and green. But I love how this card came out. The background is funky and there is a lot of Time Holtz. Tim inks and villianous potion distress with his smaller snowflake stencil are in the background.  I used glitter white cardstock for the snowy ground. The buildings are from the silhouette design store. Santa is from Die-Versions.  The sentiment is a sequin.  And the little trees, deer, wreath, and snowman are Sizzix Tim Holtz.

The deer is from tiny snowglobes. The snowman and wreath are from Christmas minis. Now let me tell you about the wreath.  It is actually the inside piece to the wreath you cut out. And the bow is trimmed along the "strings" that hang down and the bow part itself.  And then I used a whole punch to make it into a wreath.

Make sure you stop by the Rainbow Card Challenge to see all of the beautiful inspiration there and to say good bye. :)

I am on instagram if you would like to follow me there :) just look for iliketocutandpaste

Until next time my friends have a wonderful holiday!

No Bull Birthday Card

 Hello Friends!

Here is a birthday card that I made for a dear friend of mine who likes cows :) I love making her cow cards to so it totally works!

I didn't know what I was going to make at first. I went through the silhouette design store, and then I came across a print and cut farm file from Lettering Delights called Stickies Farm-the print and cut version. So I printed the bull and my silhouette cut him out-which was perfect because he has skinny little legs.

The background is a combination of distress and distress oxide inks from Tim Holtz. This is on watercolor paper. The sentiment is from the upper case tiny typeTim Holtz letters by sizzix. I used Tim's metallic paper.

The sun is cut from my silhouette and I used stickles for sparkle. The grass is Lawn Fawn (die) and the flowers and leafy stems are from the Rubbernecker Stamps. Which I think this is the first maybe second time I have used these die cuts so this makes my heart very happy that I was able to incorporate them.

I usually leave the inside blank so I can write my message-but with the sentiment the way it was I had to stamp a birthday greeting! This is from sizzix.

This card turned out so cute! I am excited to link it to the following challenges:

Rainbows at the Rainbow Challenge

 Hello Everybody!

Happy June! New month new challenge!

This month at The Rainbow Card Challenge we are all about Rainbows!

I made a thank you card for a science teacher.

I used my silhouette machine for the beakers and liquid. I had a stencil and fine silver marker pen that I used for the circles above the red and green liquid beakers. The sentiment was a free stamp from Taylored Expressions. The background was a pattern paper I found in my stash. :)

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you will go check out what my teammates have created. And I hope you are inspired to join us this month!

Cute Little Dinosaur Card

 Hello Friends,

Before I show you my card, I wanted to tell you that Blogger is getting rid of the FeedBurner feature. This means that if you kindly subscribe to my blog by email-you will no longer receive those emails. Boo! This is set for a couple of months from now. But I looked at the emails and there seems to be only a handful of legit emails. So I am going to have this blog post be the last post emailed out. Thank you for subscribing! You can see all of my crafty makes either here, on my Iliketocutandpaste Facebook and Instagram accounts.

So here is this cute thank you card!

I used an echo park embossing folder.  The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions. And this cute dinosaur is a print and cut from my Silhouette machine and the Silhouette Design Store. Here lately I am loving the option of printing and cutting things out. Shhh don't let my stamps and stickers find out ;)

And who can resist googly eyes?

Thank you for subscribing to my blog. I hope to see you in other outlets. :) Hugs!

I am submitting this card into the follow challenges:

Orchid Vignette Box

 Hello Friends!

I am so excited to share a cool vignette box that I made for a friend of mine. :)  My friends loves and takes care of orchids-so I had to make sure I incorporated that into this box. It was a thank you from me to her. Sometimes cards just aren't enough ;)

So here is the vignette box:

I made these orchids using a silhouette design store file and wilted violet and wild honey distress oxide inks. The leaves are from a tim holtz funky floral die cut set and I trimmed the leaves to look like this. I did a little paper shaping, also.  I used a botanical rub on on from tim holtz in the background.

This is an adornment metal charm from tim holtz. I made it purple with alcohol ink.  And the dreamer of dreams is another rub on from a different set.

There's another picture of the orchids because I love how they turned out. They are in a little tim holtz jar (corked vials) and I glued the stem to the side of the jar to keep the orchids from moving around.

The background is a tim holtz wallpaper that I colored with vintage photo and broken china distress oxide. The bird is clay and made from a mod podge mold. I painted it with a finnabair sparks paint-butterfly spells.

Rust! I love to create rust! I used finnabairs 3 paint/paste rust effects. This is over a clip thing that has a whole in it. Originally, it was an orange clip from Making Memories. Then I painted black gesso over it and clipped it to the side. I made the rust happen and used extra jump rings for the time coin and antique gem- both are tim holtz.

Here's a side view.  I sprayed stormy sky distress oxide spray onto the box so it has a blue tint.

Look at that rust!

Another view.  The paper doll is from tim holtz.

This is the 2nd smallest vignette box that Tim sells. I also added antique glass glitter from Melissa Francis along the corner on the left and the bottom.  I feel that I need more glitter in my life and used it here. :)

I am submitting this cool vignette box into the following challenges:

Path of Positivity Challenge: #90 Smile/Laugh This is a thank  you for my friend for helping me. I know she will smile when she sees the orchids. :)

Happy Valentine's Day! 1 of 3

 Hello Friends!

Happy Valentine's Day! Welcome to the last day of my series--My 14 Days of Valentine's Craftiness.  I'm so excited. I have a few projects but I am going to cover them over a few posts. So this is the first one. :)

I saw this file in the Silhouette Design Store and knew it was a must have. This is a Lori Whitlock cut file and she also has a you tube video describing how to put one together (but not this exact one). These are called impossible cards.

Here he is in front of the enveloped that also comes with the cut file. For me there is a little learning curve. As of right now he does not fit nicely into his envelope-and I don't know if I should have resized something-but no matter- I love how this guy turned out! And this card is for my husband so if it doesn't fit nicely-it's ok. :)

Here is Mr. Viking without the envelope backdrop. LOL

Here is a side view-because you cut out two pink tickets. The first ticket goes behind the print and cut ticket. And the second goes in the back to look nice. And may write a small enough message. .

This is used using a Silhouette Cameo Machine so I am entering this into the challenge at:

Cut It Up: #219 All You Need is Love: Use a die cut-everything is cut out except 3 little glittery stickers on the front.

Thank you for stopping by! Lots of love :)

Gnome Card

 Hello Friends!

It's Day 11 of my 14 Day of Valentine's Craftiness.  I feel like I can't stop making Valentine's. It really has been so fun, and it's hard to believe Valentine's Day is almost here!

So for today-it is an easy card but super cute!

I embossed the background with a cricut cuttlebug embossing folder. The gnome and the sentiment are both print and cuts from the Silhouette Design Store but they are from different sets. The gnome is from a Valentine gnome set and the sentiment is from a Valentine elephant set.  I love print and cut. You can make them stickers or die cuts-which is what I like so I can move it around and make sure where I want it to go.

Thank you for stopping by!

Window of Hearts Card

 Hello Friends!

Today is the 9th day I have been posting Valentine cards and crafts. For me this is super exciting! I have been all about Valentine's, and I have been mailing stuff out hoping to bring a smile to a loved one. :)

Today is a card that I love how it turned out. My husband gave me this Tim Holtz window for Christmas. And as I started of thinking about Valentines I thought how cute if hearts were hanging in the window.

Well my friends-that window is smaller than the one in my head LOL So I used the inside of the hearts to stick on the window.

The background is candied apple distress oxide through a crafters workshop stencil. Since oxide is sort of like versamark I applied stampin up iridescent ice embossing powder and heated it. Beautiful! so it added glitter and shine to the bricks. My background was totally inspired by a video I saw on Instagram by erica_cacacraft.

The window and the little bitty flowers and leaves are Tim Holtz dies. I used some distress oxides for the flowers-wilted violet and worn lipstick. And then I used nuovo drops for the middles.

The hearts are from my silhouette machine.

Here is a close up of the bricks.  😍😍😍

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

the Library Challenge: 76 Jar of Hearts. I don't have a jar but a window which is made out of glass ;)

Try It on Tuesday: Falling in Love (I'm seriously in love with this window :) )

Llama Fun Valentine Card

 Hello Friends!

It's Day 6 of my 14 Days of Valentine's Craftiness. So this is a Valentine Day card but different than the last 3.  It's just a regular shaped one ;)

This cute little llama and saying are by Lettering Delights in the Silhouette Store. The heart embossing folder is Crafters Companion Sara Davies. And the little shiny hearts are from Sticko-EK Success.

I am entering this Valentine into the following challenges:

Heart Swing Card (2)

 Hello Friends!

Today I am showing you a second heart swing card that I made (there's 5 altogether). The story about the heart swing cards is here if you would like to know a little more. :)  Thank you stopping by today! This is Day 4 of my 14 Days of Valentine's Craftiness :)

For this card I used some old but very well loved Crate scrapbook paper for the background. I wrapped twine in the first part. The flower was in my stash-and is an acetate flower that I had made. I stamped it and then painted it with glue and glitter. Then I took a paper heart and put it for the center of the heart and added glitter glue.  The forever heart was a chipboard piece also in my stash. :)  Yay! Using up some pieces! LOL :)

Here is the card folded like it would be in the envelope. The elephant is from The Silhouette Design Store and is a print and cut. So cute!  And the butterfly was in a bag of sparkly kind of material butterflies that were given to me.

Here's a picture of starting to open this card.

Here is the other side of the heart. This is a Tim Holtz sentiment and some hearts from a die cut. And the flowers are from K & Company.

Here is the card extended out.

I am so excited to give these out. :)  Thank you for stopping by!

Heart Swing Valentine Card

 Hello Friends!

It's Day 3 of my Valentine 14 Days of Craftiness and today I am showing you a Valentine's Day card. However, this is a different type of Valentine Card for me.

I had this pack of Heart Swing Cards that you can buy from Paper Wishes. (I sort of inherited them but that's another story.) And I was watching YouTube and somehow ran across the video explaining how to make them. So it's not hard. On the back of the label is a pattern for the different shapes on the card. The best thing to do is make a couple of copies and then you can trace and cut out.

I made a couple of copies and got out some Paper Crate paper that I hoard and love LOL.  After I glued on the background pieces I just added things to the card that weren't too bulky because I know I was going to mail it.  Here is the card when you first get it. That is a Simon Says Stamp (swoon!) and a sticker and two sequin hearts on the middle heart.

Here is sort of an action picture of opening the card.

Ta Da! The other side! The little hearts in the middle I have had forever! I am so happy they got used on the spine of this card. Now- I made the mistake of not going all the way to the right edge. No worries! I cut an extra strip and used a fiskars punch and some washi tape. Shhh don't tell anyone-maybe the recipient will think I meant too ;)

This cute elephant is a print a cut from the Silhouette Design Store. They have so many cute images and you can make them stickers but I chose to print and cut on white card stock so I could move the elephant and those pink hearts around. Oh and the center heart has a Tim Holtz sentiment and some flowers which I have also had for a long time. Stash Bashing! ;)

Here is the card standing. I think this was pretty cool and different. And out of my comfort zone. I just wanted to have fun make Valentine's and that happened here. Over the next few days there will be a few more of these style cards so be sure to visit again! :)

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Festival of Trees Layout

 Hello Friends!

I was very inspired by the sketch at Stick It Down.  I love that wreath on the second page of the layout.  I also love Paige Evans-I am in her facebook group and she shares projects using her die cuts and paper lines.  So I saw the wreath on the sketch and my mine was like I can use a Paige Evans die cut.  So I did!

I am also submitting this layout to Challenge YOUrself-Anything Goes #84. I'm on the second page ;)

Here's my layout followed by the sketch:

I used an old Stampin Up kit called Christmas Jingle.  It was perfect because I was having problems matching all of the the other Christmas paper I had. LOL. The Merry Christmas Paper is from Hobby Lobby.  The border on the left is also from the kit. For the journal block I used decorative edge scissors. I have a lot of them, and I am trying to use them :) So yay! Then there are various brads and stickers and a tree button and a Making Memories square there to decorate.

Here is the die cut wreath before I filled in with little papers. I am just happy my silhouette cut it out LOL. I know that sounds silly but I don't always have luck with intricate cuts.  I took the speed down by one and maybe that helped.  I was very proud of it LOL.

So here are the insides of the images.  They are so cute! I wanted to save them but I do no possess the patience for such an undertaking. I started and realized this. LOL.  I watched a video on Paige's youtube where she offers a few different ways to back the die cut. I chose flipping it over and tracing the paper I wanted it to go on (traced on the backside of it). Then cut it out with a border so I could glue it onto the die cut outline.  It took a few days a couple of hours here and there.

Ta Da! I used glitter paper, pattern paper, scraps, and even a paper where I had sprayed a pretty color on (the bell).  It was fun.  My husband wanted me to make it into a real wreath. He's so sweet! :) It's a little small but maybe that is an idea for later down the road.

I have to show you one more die cut on this layout:

I got this as a little gift from Taylored Expressions for an order. I love it! And thought it fit perfect here.  They send the cutest little thank you gifts. I have others that I think are great. They didn't pay me for this advertisement but I think you should know!  :)

Thank you for stopping by! Until next time my friends!
