Festival of Trees Layout

 Hello Friends!

I was very inspired by the sketch at Stick It Down.  I love that wreath on the second page of the layout.  I also love Paige Evans-I am in her facebook group and she shares projects using her die cuts and paper lines.  So I saw the wreath on the sketch and my mine was like I can use a Paige Evans die cut.  So I did!

I am also submitting this layout to Challenge YOUrself-Anything Goes #84. I'm on the second page ;)

Here's my layout followed by the sketch:

I used an old Stampin Up kit called Christmas Jingle.  It was perfect because I was having problems matching all of the the other Christmas paper I had. LOL. The Merry Christmas Paper is from Hobby Lobby.  The border on the left is also from the kit. For the journal block I used decorative edge scissors. I have a lot of them, and I am trying to use them :) So yay! Then there are various brads and stickers and a tree button and a Making Memories square there to decorate.

Here is the die cut wreath before I filled in with little papers. I am just happy my silhouette cut it out LOL. I know that sounds silly but I don't always have luck with intricate cuts.  I took the speed down by one and maybe that helped.  I was very proud of it LOL.

So here are the insides of the images.  They are so cute! I wanted to save them but I do no possess the patience for such an undertaking. I started and realized this. LOL.  I watched a video on Paige's youtube where she offers a few different ways to back the die cut. I chose flipping it over and tracing the paper I wanted it to go on (traced on the backside of it). Then cut it out with a border so I could glue it onto the die cut outline.  It took a few days a couple of hours here and there.

Ta Da! I used glitter paper, pattern paper, scraps, and even a paper where I had sprayed a pretty color on (the bell).  It was fun.  My husband wanted me to make it into a real wreath. He's so sweet! :) It's a little small but maybe that is an idea for later down the road.

I have to show you one more die cut on this layout:

I got this as a little gift from Taylored Expressions for an order. I love it! And thought it fit perfect here.  They send the cutest little thank you gifts. I have others that I think are great. They didn't pay me for this advertisement but I think you should know!  :)

Thank you for stopping by! Until next time my friends!

St. Patrick's Day Layout

Yay!  This layout was picked in the Top 3 at Stick It Down! :)

Hello Everybody!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day-although a little late in the evening.  Here is a St. Patrick's Day layout that was inspired by the sketch at Stick It Down.

I knew I wanted shamrocks-and I found 3 glitter foam shamrocks that were so old the adhesive didn't work on the back LOL.  No worries!  So I cut out more shamrocks from my silhouette.  The true green ones are distress ink mowed lawn that I inked on there.  And I painted the lighter green ones with Sparks Fairy Wings acrylic paint by Finnabair.  Side note-I love sparks paint.  I just sort of discovered them and they are so glittery and shiny! :)

When I was going through the St. Patty's day cut files I saw the light bulb and had to use it.  I cut out glitter green paper for it.  The title with the arrows are also cut from the silhouette on white cardstock inked with distress oxide lucky clover.

Then I added some gems and used some washi tape to edge the middle paper.  Our pictures are from instagram.  So Fun! :)

Here is the sketch:

Here is the close up of the light bulb:

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends-yay green! :)

Haunted House (Mansion) Layout

Hello Everybody!

Stick It Down has great inspirational sketches this month (and every month!). This month I loved the 2 page layout and was able to put photos together quickly.

The paper and bat and ghost stickers are from Carta Bella: Haunted.  I added the black drips using black soot distress spray.  The title Haunted House is from Paper Wizard.  I assembled it and it makes a cool 3-D die cut.  I added a little cluster with Tim Holtz things on the title page (page 2).

Here is the original sketch from Stick It Down:

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...there is always room for one more ;)

Red and Yellow Layout

Hello Everybody!

Tonight I was inspired by a sketch and washi tape.  I will be honest-I looked all through my washi tape and found two red designs.  I put the washi on the cardstock and then I went and looked for a picture.  Usually I have the picture first and build the page around it.  There was something very fun doing it a bit backwards-but I don't know if I can do that all the time!

I am working on using my stash-I have set a goal of making 30 pages before I buy anything new.  (I know!  But I am trying to stay strong!) lol!  This make page 7.

I would like to submit this to the following challenges:

Some Product Details:  I used Golden's Diarylide Yellow paint to make the background dots.  Washi tape from Recollections (Michaels).  I made the gears from some of the left over mat paper.  Chipboard bits from Pebbles and the red stars are from ScrapYard 329.  The red letters and & are Hot off the Press and Yellow is Thickers.  And then there are some things I just found in my stash that worked.

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...stay in color! :)

Soccer Layout

Hello Everybody!

I'm using the double page sketch over at Stick It Down to create this fun layout.  Here's the sketch:

And here's my take on the sketch.

I used Doodlebug pattern paper, green cardstock from Craftsmith and some letter stickers.  I used my Silhouette to make the soccer ball.  And I used a few little soccer stickers from Paper Studio that are a bit sparkly and squishy-so fun!

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...Goal! :)

Hello Santa Layout

Hello Everybody!

Today I finished a layout page using the single sketch at Stick It Down.  I love the triangles!  And thankfully one of the team members-Melissa Kay-told how to make these triangles.  You make a 4 inch square and cut it in half.  What??  Yeah that easy--and thank goodness because until I visited her blog I had no idea.  LOL  Geometry and I have never gotten along--especially since high school.  But that's a story for a different day.

I used a glitter paper from Recollections.  Most of the papers, letters, and stickers are from Doodlebug.  I don't know what the collection is called but it was one of my favorites from a few years ago.  Also, there are some Tim Holtz stars at the top, clear rhinestones, a bling candy cane from Hobby Lobby and some Thickers (the red metallic corners).

Here's the sketch.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...keep that Christmas spirit coming even if it's January! :)

2018 Layout

Hello Everybody!

I love when inspiration hits all at once.  I have been looking at all of the wonderful sketches over at Stick It Down and thinking this is the month that I make one of these sketches come to life.

And then that month passes and I create a few things-but not according to one of the sketches.  Well-for the month of July that changes!  Yay!  I was looking through my animal paper and came across this cute paw background paper.  And with the 2018 on the sketch-I knew I had to make a cute page about our dog.

So here it is!

I made the little charms at the top using a file from the Silhouette Design store along with the 2018.  The papers are old stampin up cardstock-chocolate chip and regal rose.  And then the trim is a golden color from a pack of on sale trims from Hobby Lobby!

Our sweet puppy isn't this little anymore-LOL!

Here is the sketch that inspired:

There is still time to play at Stick It Down.

Thank you for stopping by today!  It was great to see you!  Until next time my friends...keep being crafty! :)

That was Awesome Layout

Hello Everybody!

It feels like forever since I have made a 2 page scrapbook layout.  Probably because it has been forever.  LOL!  So I am very happy I was able to make this layout using the sketch from Stick It Down and the theme from Use Your Stuff.

This is from a trip I took last year with my sister to San Juan.  It was a business trip but they had fun built in.  We were able to take a tour of the Bacardi factory.  It was awesome! :)  On the bottom right is my bracelet "ticket."  We learned how to make three drinks-mojito being my favorite.

Here is a closeup of the cluster on the top.  I used some washi tape and chipboard pieces my friend Amber gave me.  (thanks! the paper too!)  The pom pom flowers are Queen and Company, and I just love them!

For the background I used Wendy Vecchi's translucent embossing paste and a diamond stencil.  I wanted to add something so there wouldn't be quite so much white (or in this case pink) space.  I love the clear embossing paste because it seems to add just a little something without it being too much.  :)

Thank you for stopping by today!

Here are the challenges that I am submitting this layout too:

Until next time my friends...let the adventures begin!  Edit-I was highlighted!  Thank you Use Your Stuff! :)

Playing in the Dirt Layout

Hello Everybody!

Long time no see!  I'm still here.  I have been busy working on other things.  Plus, I can't have caffeine right now-so I'm very sleepy at night and have to go to bed.  LOL.

One of the things I have been working on are ATC's.  If you have Instagram-you can check them out over there.  :)  I will share them here too-but it will be a little while.

But for right now I want to share this layout I created using the 2 page sketch over at Stick It Down.

The title was done using the Zippy font on the Silhouette.  I added a sticker from Hobby Lobby.  The cardstock is all from Stampin Up.  The pattern paper is from Creating Keepsakes.  And the ribbon is from Jilli Bean Soup.

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends-go play outside! :)

Steampunk Valentine

Hello Everybody!

I am so excited to show you the card I made using the Queen and Company Heart Throb kit with a Steampunk Flair!

First here is my card:

Here is another picture of it.

Here are the products that I used to create it:

Plus I used Q and C's heart die and a heart foam.

For the background I used the foil cardstock.  But it was too shiny-so I inked it up with black distress paint.

I also inked up the heart foam for the shaker part.  I used the black distress paint for that as well.

I realized I had to do the inside too! :)

For the heart shaker I used the foil cardstock.  I embossed the inside with gears and used the preserves and black distress inks.  I used the black distress ink for the heart outline as well.

Then I filled it with all of those wonderful things-microbeads and diamonds and a few sequins.  But there are 3 silver little gears in there also.  They came from this earring that I bought at a Steampunk show back in January.

I'm saving the other 2 gears. :)

Here is another picture of the heart.

For the sentiment I used black and white cardstock.  I cut it out on the Silhouette and then made the background from there also.  I used the Ken Olivers liquid metals silver to make the sentiment sparkly.

Thank you for stopping by today!

I would like to link this up to the following:

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends-may love fill your heart! :)

Life is Good Layout

Hello Everybody!

With just a couple of days left in January, I decided I had to participate in Stick It Down's single page challenge.  All of the sketches are awesome-but I was really inspired by the single page sketch and all of the DT's examples.

So here is my layout:

Here is what I used: black and white cardstock, Heidi Swapp word stickers, decorative from Paper Studio (hobby lobby), and star stickers with gold foil.

Let me tell you about those stars.  A million years ago they came out with a foil pen.  And foils that you just put over where ever the pen had written.  For me the pen didn't work great.  My sweet parents bought me a kit of some sort.  I remember I had to have it!  So it came with metallic frames and the pen and foils.  But it also came with stickers-which I didn't realize until I was looking through my metallic stuff.  And thankfully right next to the stickers was the foils.  Press onto the stickers and then you're done.  That's it! :)

Here is the sketch from Stick It Down:

Chemistry Card

Hello Everybody!

I made a card for a sketch at Stick It Down.  And I love how it turned out.  This stamp set is called Positive Chemistry and it's from Close to My Heart.  And I just love it!

The inks are from Stampin Up-Green Galore and Summer Sun.  On the green galore base I used clear embossing powder so it would be easier to see those molecules.  (I guess molecules-it's been awhile since I was in a chemistry class.)

I would like to submit this card into the following challenges:

Baby Layout

Hello Everybody!

Today I finished up a layout using my baby picture.  At Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge the first challenge is to use a baby picture.  I have them and have only thought about scrapping my own baby picture.  Now it's time to scan one and make it happen!

I am also using a sketch from Stick It Down.  They are having a DT Call-so more details at the end of this post! :)  This is my entry for the DT Call.

Here is my page and cute little baby picture.  I am pretty sure my dad took the picture as my mom is in the background.  My dad likes taking pictures and back in the day he would develop them.

I used a piece of Making Memories eyelet lace for the background and sprayed it with Sweet Cherry from Heidi Swapp.  Then I used light modeling paste and my harlequin stencil behind the photo cluster and in the right hand corner.

Here are some closeups.  Those hearts are rub-ons from a company long ago called Luxe.  I still have a few more of their things floating around.  :)  And the film strip is a Tim Holtz die that I put a little walnut ink on.

I light bulb says ME and is from Prima.  I used a piece of Tim Holtz tissue tape and a scrap with hearts on it.  The felt heart is from Fancy Pants.  (Trying to use a little stash!)

The banners and flowers are from a Sizzix banner and stamp set that I just love.  And the bigger flower is from Prima (2010!).

These are Thickers letters that I edged with a little red ink.  I ran out of T's so I put two exclamation points together-woo hoo!  And if you see that brown embossed banner under the picture-that is a piece of kraft paper embossed and I applied walnut ink to the embossing folder.  It's a fun technique! :)

Here is the sketch that I used.

The Stick It Down DT call is still open-they have card sketches as well as layouts.  So come on!  Join the fun! :)

Until next time my friends...Happy Monday!

Playing Dressup

Hello Everybody!

I barely made this post in time for the challenge at Stick It Down.  But I think I made it!  ;)

I used feathers, papers, and some stickers from Bella BLVD.  The disguise stickers are from Jolee's.  Other papers are Theresa Collins, Recollections, and Wasau Papers.

I have had these feathers for a little while, and I always wanted to use them.  I have to give Julie Tucker-Wolek major props because she makes using them look so easy!  Thank you!  I finally found a place for my feathers :)

Here are a few close-ups:

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...where's my hat? ;)
