Empire

Such a lovely day today.
After a lovely catch up brunch with one of my girlfriends at
Cantina on Beaufort St, Mt Lawley we headed to
Empire for some inspiration.

The items I would have snapped up in a heart beat if I could have were ...

So in love with this chair, perfect for the outside or inside. Colour is amaze!

Great setting for outside or on a balcony.

Perfect for a media room. So deep to put your feet up, I would just spend days relaxing on this.

Cute, industrial and colourful

Would love these in an office space

I have no words ... maybe one - love!

I found a good option for the stools for my kitchen bench, wooden top with yellow legs

Sigh for this lamp

Yummy bits and pieces for the kitchen

Loved these ceramic cannisters that look like tin cans

Icon - Wishbone

Also called the CH24 or Y chair, this piece is an icon in furniture design.

Designed by Hans Wegner in 1949, this piece is still today one of the most popular chairs produced.
It is classically beautiful, light and sculptural.
Craftsmanship is clearly the word to describe this piece with over 100 steps carried out by hand to produce.
And the seats are hand woven with paper cord that can last up to 50 years.

Beautiful DIY

I'm am so impressed with this DIY job done over at Aubrey + Lindsay's Blog. They have taken this simple Ikea Rast sidetable

And made it look like this

I absolutely love it. I want it.

So of course I jumped onto the Ikea website at first I thought we didn't have the Rast sidetable here in Australia :( But we do AND they only cost $50!!!

Check out the full story over at Aubrey + Lindsay's Blog, very inspiring!

Have a great weekend everyone xx

Coffee table thoughts

I've mentioned before that I want an ottoman as my coffee table. I thought I'd put a collection of rooms with ottomans as coffee tables to see if I'm still feeling it.

I currently have 2 Ikea Lack side tables as my coffee table, I only bought these ($20 each!) as a temporary fit until I found out exactly what it was I decide to put there.

Ottomans as coffee tables can add a softer feel to the space and I can put my feet up which I love to do. Plus it can act as extra seating if need be. It is also a great way to add some colour and texture to a space.

Miss OC

Recently I headed over to Perth to work for a couple of months. The experience was........great. Perth is a beautiful place and I felt I needed to post about it after speaking with one of my Perth friends today, let's just call her "Miss OC"!!! You see Miss OC thinks my blog is "funny" and if I didn't know Miss OC I would be offended! But it was actually Miss OC who drove me all around Perth showing me the beautiful houses in Perth, introduced me to one of my now favourite furniture and homewares stores Empire (see pic below) plus many more and asked me on a regular basis what she should do with her own First Little Place! Got the lights sorted out yet Miss OC?? You see I know Miss OC secretly LOVES my blog and can't wait for it to arrive in her inbox :)

Keep reading the blog Miss OC, you might get some ideas on all this random stuff xx
