I was so sad to hear of Michelle Adams leaving her post at Lonny magazine. 

I cannot imagine the magazine without her :(

I'm sure the new editor will be great but she's just not Michelle.

Over the years Michelle has been so kind to invite us into her various homes and

 shared her own personalised style so it is fitting as a farewell that she share her current

Home Tour - Ivanka Trump

I think we all fell in love with her old apartment but Ivanka's current New York apartment, 

shared in Elle Decor highlights design elements that work really well for a his and her apartment.

Located on Manhattan's Park Avenue, Ivanka took on this renovation for the 

apartment with Interior Designer Kelly Behun.

 

 

 

 

 

I have to say, I'm a bit of an Ivanka fan. And I'll tell you why :

• Overall she's a businesswoman, heiress, model, designer, wife, mother and some would call her a socialite
• She has her BA in Economics
• Is Executive Vice President of Development and Acquisitions at The Trump Organization
• She designs a line of jewellery with diamond traders, Dynamic Diamond Corp which is in their "Ivanka Trump" store on Madison Avenue
• In 2009 she married Jared Kushner and in 2011, she gave birth to their first child daughter Arabella Rose

 

So they're the facts but what I really like about her is that yes she was born into wealth, she was set for the rest of her life. However, unlike many other heiresses Ivanka went to college, got her BA and worked hard to acquire all she has now. She's not seen in the tabloids as being reckless or a wild child. In every interview or The Apprentice appearances she always speaks and holds herself very well. She's quite a private person in such a high profile family and quietly supports a number of charities.

I just thinks it's refreshing to have someone who has so much and so much access to the public that she has kept her head screwed on and has what appears to have a happy and fulfilled life, 

one for which she has been able to create for herself.

4 full bathrooms and 2 partial ones at 7,174 sq ft.

SoHo Loft Tour

I'm not sure if it's the fact I'm living in an actual "city" again after 8 years in regional Queensland but I am being drawn to the more city living, modern style ... maybe.

I found this SoHo loft on Remodelista, which you can check out in full here but these are some of my favourite spots in the loft...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

*** Update on my living situation here in Perth for friends and family wanting to know ***

I have found a place in this very difficult market in East Perth. 

But the viewing is on Wednesday ... whilst I am in Singapore !!! 

Fortunately I have someone who can go and look for me and put in my application. 

I am really hoping I get it as it is perfect!

My week with Instagram ...

1. My Sunday ritual, coffee in my favourite mug that a friend brought back from New York for me, while finally getting some time out for my bloggie catch up
2. Came across this pink (yes pink) Balenciaga iPad case and put it immediately on my wishlist
3. Went for a walk along the esplanade here in Cairns and it was beautiful, snapped a few shots while I was there
4. Received a shout out for my blog The Orange Book from Louise over @ Table Tonic, thanks lovely
5. My new addiction, Coconut Water. It has been sooooo hot here, this is a great way to keep hydrated as I struggle to drink flat water. Must drink with lots of ice though.
6. Saw this film and feel compelled to share the message of Make Kony Famous 2012.
7. Watched the new Louis Vuitton runway show for FW12. Such a contrast to the SS show. Great concept of a show that is deep with inspiration and heritage of travel and luggage. Can't wait to see these bags hit the store.
8. Had my favourite regular Saturday lunch of pancakes at Dolce cafe here in Cairns
9. Was told I was unpredictable, I kind of like that!!
 

Also three things I am really liking about instagram :

♥ It's making me live my life with more intention

♥ My mum has the chance to see what I've been up to through the week :)

♥ It's another great way to keep in touch with my friends who are also enjoying instagram

One thing I don't like about instagram :

> People asking, even begging others to follow them!
It's a freedom of choice isn't it, don't you follow who you like
and want to follow because you're interested in their pics .... 

but maybe that's just me!

Celebrity Home - Hilary Swank

What a dream to have a house in LA and an apartment in New York, Manhattan to be precise. 

Well that dream is true life for actress Hilary Swank. 

Not a large apartment but so beautifully designed. 

Great colour palette, sophisticated yet still warm.

Most of the furnishings for the apartment have come from Calvin Klein Home.
