Lovely Legs New Baby

It’s been a while since there was a new baby around here, in fact last year there were none and that hasn’t happened in forever. Hopefully this will be another bumper year for little ones.

I went a different way than I was intending as I had used the design for this little ones big brother. I do like these lovely leg designs but I know some people can’t cope with the cut off heads lol.

Big Birthday Number 4

It’s only February and we are on big birthday number 4, I wasn’t joking when I said it was going to be a busy big birthday year, I wonder how many I will have made at the end of the year. I’ve not counted as I find that makes me anxious and stops me just making them, I get stuck like a deer in the headlights lol.

Another eclipse but they are just so effective, I did remember to put glossy accents on the numbers this time as it makes them pop more

Meowy Christmas

Another unused stamp set another day closer to Christmas. This set was a stamptember Colorado craft set and I have no idea what year as I didn’t label the pocket.

I am hoping by the time this publishes I will have finished all my wrapping, it’s been a mammoth task this year and definitely making me rethink wrapping all the stocking stuffers lol.

More chocolate mice?

I made this at the same time as the other chocolate mouse card and again the letters don't stand out enough, maybe I should have gone with a plain colour rather than eclipse...

Chocolate mice anyone?

This idea was percolating in my head for ages and now its completed it is nothing like I expected lol. The letters don't stand out as much as I had hoped and I think I should have added glossy accents to them

Playday Jumpers

Every year I think I will go with a simple easy to produce design for the almost thirty playday cards I need to make and every year what is quick and easy on one certainly isn't on 30 lol.

I bought this set from Colorado Craft Company after seeing it in their "Christmas in July" release. I knew who I was going to use it for but not how until I saw a card made by the lady that owns "The Stamping Shed" and I thought I can adapt that lol.

I found a really old cable knit sweater embossing folder and it embossed the kraft card beautifully. Next of course it was the notched die and I wasn't going to have the white section too but the jumpers got lost in the background without it. The merry die is an old "papertrey Ink" one and didn't have the holes to poke the die out so they became a labour of love and took longer than all the other elements combined lol. And finally I was being tight and didn't buy the die as I thought its a simple image and easily fussy cut....after 30 I regretted that decision lol.

And finally I cheated with the christmas word, I couldn't face heat embossing 30 of them so I made them on my computer, printed them out and die cut them....cheating or what lol

Lovely Legs Santa Sleigh

I made this at the same time as the one from yesterday, They were a joy to colour but not something I will be rushing to do again.

Colorado craft company now have this image with the head of santa on it and I do think maybe I should get that one too.

Lovely Legs Fireplace

Unusually for me I am running out of christmas cards to show you, that of course is the curse of the batch making. I got so carried away with different colour schemes I didn't think to stop and try other stamps/dies in my stash.

This year I have bought very little christmas stamps and even if I buy no more I have enough to last a lifetime but of course I can't stop because every year there is a cuter set then last year lol. I did think of challenging myself to pick a set and make a card once a week but not sure how long that would last lol.

The obsession this year has of course been the notched die and embossing, wonder what next years will be lol.

Onto the card finally lol. I used a set from either last year or the year before and coloured it on kraft card, I really enjoyed this but will admit it took longer then all 4 snowflake cards did lol.

Runsational the sequel

Yet again I have used this stamp not in the way I intended lol. I was going to do the spotlight technique and only colour the one who is supposed to resemble the recipient in colour and colour the others in shades of grey. Of course I looked at the one I made last time and started colouring the lady before I remembered this card was for a guy lol.

I am a huge lovely legs fan and might have bought a few on my recent trip to Florida, hopefully you will get to see those soon.

Retail Therapy

I am not sure why I haven't tried colouring these stamps on kraft before but now I have tried it I don't think I can stop.

I bought a set of 160 oil based pencils from Amazon in 2020 with the intention of using them a lot and now almost 18 months later I have finally started using them. I do need to complete a colour chart though as it took longer to find colours that went than to colour the image lol.

Dripping Ice Cream

When my friend sent me the cupcake last year she also sent this ice cream and I couldn’t wait to colour it.

The drip across the top was made using a stencil and the new at the time kitsch flamingo oxide ink, I combined flamingo with spun sugar and picked raspberry and it makes a gorgeous ombré.

Sweet Chocolate

Todays is my friends birthday and I know the card has reached her so I can show it on here. I saw a similar card on instagram and I didn't have the die so I made the chocolate squares on my cricut and cut them out, each one is three layers thick to give the illusion of real chocolate. The card stock is not as dark as my camera has made it look and in real life its more milk than dark chocolate.

The funny story attached to this card was that after I made it and showed a friend during a call and she said, why hadn't I used my die and I said I didn't have one and she said yes you do so I went to look (to prove her wrong of course lol) and she was right lol.

Cat in the Tree

I bought this stamp set last year and I have only just tried it out, it was a lot of fun to colour and I made two to represent my friends beloved kitties.

I have so many cat stamps now I think it might be my new obsession lol.

Tonight I am celebrating with my girlie friends and I hope we all have a lovely time so I might be quiet tomorrow as I will probably have a hangover lol.

Apology and a Cupcake

Firstly I think I need to apologise for my continued absence, I would like to say that this won'y happen again but I can't make that promise at the moment.

The last two years have been difficult for everyone and in my family that has also been the case. It's not my story to tell so I can't write it on here but its been  very difficult, frustrating, humbling and sad. This has adversely affected my ability to feel joy and in turn my ability to create cards.

I am not making excuses and I am not looking for sympathy but I am hoping that you can understand.

Anyway enough waffling onto the card, I asked my friend to send me a stamped image of this cupcake because I desperately wanted to eat the one she had coloured and I wanted to have a go myself. I did make me want to buy the stamp and also lick the finished card. Maybe if there wasn't a global pandemic I might have licked it but I don't think the recipient wants my germs.

I don't have an ingredient list because I made this so long ago I have forgotten, maybe I need to write down what I use as I use it.....ok I'm laughing too.

Happy Anniversary

So this year I have a few anniversary cards to make, even thought I love making cards engagement, anniversary and wedding are ones I struggle with. As soon as I saw this set I knew it would be very useful and as I only make anniversary cards for the big ones I am sure it will get a lot of use.

I have tried with the 1st anniversary cards to imitate the invitations for the weddings and the colour schemes whereas the 25th was easier lol.

Runsational

A good friend of mine runs marathons....lots of them....in fact she is well on her way to running 100 and I am amazed and humbled by her determination. As soon as I saw this stamp I knew who it was going to be for, now my original idea was to make the lady the focal point and colour the rest of the image in greys but it just didn't have the impact I wanted so I went over the bits i had coloured with colour and it looked much, much better.

Once upon a time....again and again

And another of these style cards, this time for a lady rather than a gent. I am wanting to colour this image but sometimes you do what you have time for and this is all the time I had.

I have made about 9 in total of this style but you will have to wait a lot longer to see most of them as the birthdays are in 2020.

Now you might be forgiven for thinking this means I have finished this years birthday cards but alas that isn't the case lol. I still have about 30 to make before I can even think about christmas and some are big birthdays too.

Wedding Fever

I was persuaded to buy this stamp set (and a few more lol) by Kristina Werner, she featured it on her YouTube channel and she had simply stamped and embossed it and also she had watercolored it. These two examples showed me how versatile it is and so different from my cute style.

I have chosen colours to reflect the wedding invitation and I wanted to wish the happy couple a lifetime of love, laughter and happiness.
