Big Birthday Number 19 - the final one of 2024

What an absolute bumper year of big birthdays, I don’t think I’ve ever made this many before or will again for 10 years lol.

I had to finish on an old favourite although this is a new colour scheme for me, it’s the first time I’ve used navy and I really like it.

My cousin has two tone hair that’s why I’ve coloured it blond and dark in case you thought it was a hat lol.

Big Birthday Number 17

We are almost at the end of 2024 and the end of this years big birthdays, I definitely think the eclipse was my most used technique but I did try different images/ colour combos. This card is very elegant and although it is a style I’ve made a lot using a new colour makes it look and feel different at least to me.

Best Friends

I made these cards before I knew how to refill my copics properly so the colouring is a little splotchy, I was also in my simple card style phase, it’s always interesting when you look at something you made 6 months ago with fresh eyes.

A panda on a bike….of course it is

I very rarely use pre-printed sheets but sometimes you know you wouldn’t be able to achieve this yourself.

Big Birthday Number 2

This time I went with a tried and true design and even though I’ve been making this style since 2020 I still really like it.

The only change to the original is the scalloped mat layer, I attended a virtual crop and create in 2022 and this was part of the lawn fawn set and I can’t seem to put it down lol.

First of the big birthdays

This year you will be seeing a plethora of big birthday cards, I have a lot of friends and family celebrating big birthdays and the eclipse and shaped cards will be my go to. Unless of course I discover a totally new technique lol.

This isn’t the first big birthday card I needed but it is the first one I made lol. I used this image on a shaped birthday card last year so it seemed fitting that I try it with the eclipse technique.

The Year of 1st Birthdays

There are 4 baby boys all turning 1 amongst my family and friends so you can expect to see their cards on here.

Normally I have a tried and tested design for these cards however I needed to change it up a bit as two of the boys have older brothers that I’ve used my tried and tested design for so I changed it a little lol.

This card however was the first one I needed and I went with an animal theme as that was the theme of his party, of course the party couldn't go ahead like his parents envisaged but he doesn't know that and I am sure we will make up for it next year.

Ingredients

Image: Kai redux from Mo's digital pencil

Dies: XXL stitched squares from Crealies, simple stitched hillside from lawn fawn, number from hobby lobby and letters from spellbinders

Card: Aqua mist from papertrey ink

Bah Humbug

The only stamp sets I have bought this year have come from Clearly Besotted and I have loved them all and strangely enough used them all.....well that is certainly different to normal years.

You may or may not know but I am a Welsh lady living in England and I love anything with sheep on it.I bought this set to make cards for my fellow welsh people but instead made them to send to Florida lol. Oh well there is always next year lol. Maybe I could get a headstart on those cards.....don't worry I almost fell off my chair laughing at that one too.

Simple cards following a design I made last year, I do seem to have said that a lot this year but if it ain't broke don't fix it ( my self proclaimed motto lol)

Sentiment: creative stamping

Dies: Lawn fawn snow globe, bleuprints 20 and 29 from MFT stamps

Joy Version 2

Now I was about to make an identical card to the other joy one when I thought about using the paper pad I already had on my desk. I have had this paper pad for year and years and I absolutely love it and will be so sad when it is eventually all gone.

Card: red by recollections from Michaels

Paper: Doodlebug

Dies: blueprints 20 and 29 from MFT, stitched hillside from Lawn fawn, alphabet from Stampin Up

Merry and Bright

So this card is a little different to my normal way of doing things and a hark back to my first days of crafting. I saw the MFT lightbulb kit and thought OMG i need that and then I remembered I had bought the lawn fawn light bulbs when they first came out and never used them, ok but what about the sentiment.... I had bought some spellbinders christmas words from Hobby Lobby clearance but it didn't have the ampersand so I was making another card using a retired MFT set with bottle cap letters and I spotted the perfect sized ampersand and the rest is history. I loved making this card and I made 4 during this sitting but I think it is one I will make more off as it was so much fun.

Ingredients
Dies: merry bright from Sizzix, lightbulbs from lawn fawn, ampersand, blueprints 2 and 13 all from MFT

Joy

This card was inspired by one my friend Mary was making on a Zoom call, I thought I have an alphabet that I can use and images that would work and I even completed the card whilst on the call, ok the call lasted three hours but still lol.

I have an idea to make one that spells "snow" I wonder if I will get to make that one too.

Magic Picture Changer Super Boy

I made a very similar card to this when I first bought this die set from Lawn Fawn, I can't believe this is only the second card I have made using it and I used the same image too lol.

I did change up the colour scheme though lol. The boy I made this for loves orange so I went with a very orange colour scheme, I will admit I really like orange and grey together.

I wish I had more stamps that you could use like this, hopefully more companies will do something similar in the future.

Ingredients

Sentiment: Bam Pow from Darcie
Card: orange zest from Papertrey Ink and basic grey from Stampin Up
Paper: basics from paper studio at Hobby Lobby
STencil: city scape from Clearly Besotted

Snow Globe Shaker Version 4

The final shaker card for 2019, I went with the steps I learnt along the way and even though I forgot to add the glitter snow I’m pleased with the card. The addition of the scalloped background has been my signature this Christmas and it made making the designs quick and easy.

I want to say that this years cards weren’t as stressful but that isn’t true, I did however enjoy them more and finish them quicker.

Ingredients
Image: Sweet Treats from Clearly Besotted, "ready set snow" from Lawn Fawn, Creative Stamping Sentiment
Card: "red" recollections from Michaels
Dies: Blueprints 29 and 20 both from MFT , snow globe from Lawn Fawn

Snow Globe Shaker Card Version 3

After making the snow globe cards with the Elf and Santa I decided to use the other stamps and see what they looked like. I learned a lot from the last set of cards and decided to add the snow globe front to the acetate and it definitely looks different. I also didn't add the sentiment plaque, this however was an oversight lol.

In our house we refer to this day as "christmas Adam" as Adam came before Eve lol.

Hope you are all ready, I am almost sorted, got the food and all the presents are packed so why am i stressing lol.

Ingredients

Snow Globe Shaker Version 2

This is the second version of the shaker card, it is definitely an improvement as I remembered the acetate and I'm pleased with the snowy background. I do want to make more of these as they are so much fun but they have to be hand delivered as I am not paying to post them lol.

Ingredients

Card: "red" recollections from Michaels
Dies: Blueprints 29 and 20 both from MFT , snow globe from Lawn Fawn

Snow Globe Shaker card Version 1

Now this card isn't technically a shaker as I forgot to put the acetate window in before adding the card front to the base...doh!!!. This one I also tried inking the background and adding stamped and embossed snowflakes but it was so time consuming to mask it all I changed that on version 2.

In all I made four versions of this card and each one had a slight change each time, I do feel that by the time I had finished I could make them in my sleep lol

Ingredients
Image: Winter Plushies from Clearly Besotted (free with creative stamping magazine) and "ready set snow" from Lawn Fawn
Card: "red" recollections from Michaels
Dies: Blueprints 29 and 20 both from MFT , snow globe from Lawn Fawn

Reveal Wheel Twila Version 4

Final card for the 6 year old birthday for 2019, now to start working out what to make for their sevenths next year lol.

I am going to try batch making them again as waiting was definitely more difficult and stressful.

Enough waffling on to the card, another reveal wheel in fact identical to the last one except the superhero is purple lol.

Ingredients
Image: Superhero Twila from CC designs
Sentiment: reveal wheel sentiments from lawn fawn
Dies: skyline from mft and clearly besotted, reveal wheel and oval add on from Lawn Fawn
