Turtley Awesome Card

Good day crafty friends! It's been a few weeks since I've played in my craft room. At the end of June, I broke a lower wisdom tooth and had to have it removed. It went well, but I sure hope I don't have to do that again.

Today, I finally felt like crafting again, so I made this Turtley Awesome Card. The images and sentiment are by Gerda Steiner. To color the images Copic markers were used and a dab of glossy accents added to the turtles eyes. The floral paper is from the Lots of Love paper pad by Doodlebug Design. The background behind the turtles was made using Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass and Peeled Paint. Everything was adhered flat and that's it. So glad you stopped by and enjoy the rest of your day!🐢

Hippo Hello Card - TMS #612

Hello! Today I have a quick post to share my card for this weeks sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. As you can see, I was in a purple mood. The cute Hippo image is from Gerda Steiner and it was colored with Copic markers. A tiny floral background paper by Doodlebug Design was used along with a striped paper for the angled detail. The image was matted to a piece of yellow cardstock that was cut with Fiskars deckle scissors. Everything was adhered flat and the die cut hello finished this Hippo Hello Card. We would love for you to join us this week! Click HERE for all the challenge details and design team inspiration. Thanks for stopping by! 😊

Bunny Friends Easter Card

Happy Wednesday! Over the next few days I'll be sharing the rest of the Easter cards I made. They have all been mailed and I'm happy to say I reached my goal of 15 cards. 😊 I'm hoping they will bring a few smiles during this stay at home order we are under right now.

This Bunny Friends Easter Card features an image by Gerda Steiner. The design is simple and easy! Copic markers were used to color the image and then a stitched square die was used to cut it out. The sentiment is by Unity Stamps from the Bunny- Keep You Forever sentiment kit. A little yellow butterfly was added for detail and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Where is the Candy? Halloween Card

Only a few more days until Halloween! Our yard is decorated and I've bought the candy, because it's all about the candy. Unfortunately, the weather is going to be cooler than normal for Halloween night. I'm hoping we still get a good number of trick-or-treaters! If not my hubbies coworkers will get some candy. 🎃

All my cards have been mailed for this year but I'm still in the Halloween mood. So, I made this Where is the Candy? Halloween Card to get a head start on next years cards. The sentiment and images are from the Where is the Candy? stamp set by Gerda Steiner Designs. After the images were colored I fussy cut them (because I couldn't find the coordinating dies, they are somewhere in my mess). The patterned paper is from the Pumpkin Party paper pad by Doodlebug Designs. I love the colors in this paper collection! Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and three sequins added for sparkle. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Warm Fuzzies Christmas Card

Good day! The Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop started last Friday and I finally had time to make a card. This Warm Fuzzies Christmas Card features the Warm Fuzzies stamp by Gerda Steiner. The image was colored with Copic markers and then fussy-cut. A die cut circle was used for the focal area and then some Tumbled Glass distress ink applied for some color. The cup and stocking patterned paper is from the Recollections Fireside 6 x 6 paper pad , Merry Christmas text paper is by The Paper Studio, the Shaded Spruce polka dots are by Stampin' Up! and the papers were matted to a piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock. To add a little sparkle three white snowflake sequins were added and that's it. So glad you stopped by.

Watermelon Bear Card

Hello and happy Tuesday! This cute little Watermelon Bear image is a freebie from Gerda Steiner Designs and I've had him printed for awhile. Finally today the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches inspired me to color him and make this Watermelon Bear Card. Since watermelon is a sweet summer treat it also fits well with The Paper Girls challenge for Sweet Summer Treats. The image was colored with Copic markers and die cut with a cross stitched oval die by My Favorite Things. Most the patterned paper is from the Summer Lovin' paper pad by Carta Bella (2014) with the exception of the green stripe which came from the scrap bin. The sentiment is where I did a slight deviation from the sketch. Since it has a round design I just decided to skip adding the twine and added the sentiment.  That's it! Thanks for stopping by.

Shamrock Kitty Card

One more St. Patrick's Day card that I'll be hand delivering to our feline veterinarian tomorrow along with some chocolates. We had our rescue kitty, little Daisy, spayed last week and she is doing really well. I wish I bounced back from surgery as fast as she did. We kept her separated from the other cats for one day but she was ready to get back to her normal routine.

This Shamrock Kitty Card features a digital image by Gerda Steiner Designs. To color the image Copic markers were used in various shades of green: G29, G46, YG67, YG11, YG06 and YG25. The kitty is colored with: YR21, E53, E50, Y23 and E95. Plaid shamrock paper by Recollections and Garden Green polka dots by Stampin' Up! worked well together along with Garden Green and Wild Wasabi cardstock. The sentiment is by SKdigis and it was punched with a retired oval punch. Three gold sequins add some sparkly detail and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

St. Patrick's Day Card

Good day! I'm making a couple more St. Patrick's Day Cards and then I'll have to focus all my crafting time on Easter. It's sad how slow I am at making cards! If there were a speed card making competition, I would lose.

This St. Patrick's Day Card features a darling cat digital image by Gerda Steiner. It was colored with Copic markers and then die cut with a stitched circle die by My Favorite Things. The sentiment stamp is by SKdigis and was punched with a 1 1/2" circle punch. I love the green gingham by Recollections with the black polka dots for contrast. The green banner is actually glitter paper, although you can't tell from the photo. It adds a nice sparkle to the card. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that pretty much sums it up. Thanks for stopping by!

Bunny Thinking of You Card

The month of February has flown by and I almost forgot to make a card for the Gerda Steiner Progressive Challenge. The image provided this month is called Spring Bunny Friends and it's adorable. This image also works perfectly for the challenge at Allsorts to use something beginning with the letter 'B', Bunnies. I colored the image with Copic markers and then die cut it using a stitched oval die by My Favorite Things. All patterned papers are from the Hello Easter collection by Echo Park. The stamped flowers are from the retired Petite Petals stamp set by Stampin' Up! and the sentiment is from the Dottie Bunny stamp set by Unity Stamp Company. There's still a couple of days to join Gerda's progressive challenge, you can find all the details HERE. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Graduation Card with Flowers

Before making this Graduation Card with Flowers I did a quick image search to see other handmade graduation cards. I was surprised how few had flowers. The recipient is the daughter of one of my cousins, so I wanted the card to be youthful and pretty. Of course there had to be some element of graduation, so I used the cute graduation owl by Gerda Steiner Designs. The owl was colored with Copic markers, fussy cut and then adhered to the white stitched circle die cut. A little punched branch and stamped flower add some detail along with the congratulations die cut by Impression Obsession and three sequins for sparkle. The floral paper is retired by Stampin' Up! and the yellow is by Recollections. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Owl Graduation Card

Hello! Today is the start of a new challenge at Simply Create Too and this month we want you to use a Digi Stamp. That's a pretty easy challenge, so I hope you will play along and link-up your new creation. Click HERE for all the challenge details and design team inspiration.

While deciding which digi stamp to use on my card I received a graduation announcement for one of my younger cousins. He is graduating high school, so I decided to use this Graduation Owl image by Gerda Steiner Designs. The image was colored with Copic markers and then fussy cut to allow his foot to sit on top of the punched branch. The Congratulations paper and diploma paper are by The Paper Studio. I added a strip of woodgrain paper by Stampin' Up! and then matted the patterned paper to a piece of brick red cardstock by Bazzill. Then the focal circle was adhered flat to the paper. I'll be mailing this card so I didn't want to add any lumps or bumps. That's it!

Enjoy Your Summer Card

Hello! Summer is officially three weeks away but it's starting to feel like it here in Oklahoma. The last couple of days have been humid and warm. Having warm weather is fine, it's the humidity that I don't care for, it creates really bad hair days. Bad hair days with long hair = an updo!

I have a quick post to share the card I made using this months image for the progressive challenge from Gerda Steiner Designs. The image is called Mouse with Drink and my mouse is drinking lemonade. The card base was a freebie I got from the local scrapbook store last year. I did the yellow stamping and sentiment while at the store during a demonstration, but I never completed the intended project. So, I have rescued it and made this Enjoy Your Summer Card. The image was colored with Copic markers and cut into an oval shape to fit inside the scalloped die cut. To add a little more interest I used a pretty floral paper from my scrap bin on both edges. That's it!

Monkey Hello Card

There is nothing like waiting until the last few hours to play along in a monthly challenge. I had good intentions of getting my card for the April progressive challenge from Gerda Steiner done earlier. The image has been printed and on my desk for at least three weeks, but I'm pretty good an procraftinating!!!

All the patterned papers on this card have been in my stash for a number of years. The cardstock colors are Whisper White, Early Espresso and Mossy Meadow by Stampin' Up!. Using a stitched square die cut by Lil' Inkers the image was die cut and then colored with Copic markers. Then using Tumbled Glass distress ink I sponged the clouds. I added seven 4 mm aquamarine sequins by Pink Posh to add a little sparkle. The sentiment is from TPC Studios and was stamped using Early Espresso ink. That's it! Pretty simple and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping.

Sunshine Bunny Card

Good day! The sunshine is out, my daffodils have bloomed and the trees are getting their leaves. That must mean we are getting close to Spring.

This Sunshine Bunny Card I made today features a digital image called Carrot Bunny by Gerda Steiner Designs. The image is the freebie I received this month for playing along in her progressive challenge and it was colored using Copic markers. I used patterned paper from the Echo Park Easter collection. The sentiment is from Newton's Nook Day Dream stamp set and the sunshine stitched die and stitched square die are both from Lil' Inker Designs. To finish it off I added three pale yellow sequins and this card was done.

Bunny Smile Card

Hello! I hope you're having a lovely day. Yesterday the temperature here in Oklahoma reached 81 degrees! It was pretty warm for February and felt like Spring. So, last night I decided to make a Spring inspired card. It was nice to spend some time in my craft room to make this Bunny Smile Card. I used the image for this months progressive challenge at Gerda Steiner Designs. The cute little bunny is jumping rope and it just makes me smile.

To create this card I used patterned paper from the Welcome Spring paper pad by American Crafts. The image was printed and then die cut with an Avery Elle oval die which was matted to a coordinating scallop oval using Baja Breeze cardstock. Using Copic markers the bunny was colored with Warm Gray tones along with a little Flesh Pink. The flowers were stamped using the Sprinkles of Life stamp set by Stampin' Up!. Two Bitty Butterflies were punched using yellow glitter cardstock by DCWV and accented with small adhesive pearls. The sentiment is by Momenta and was stamped using black ink. That's it!
