Card from the Rescued Cats

Hello and Happy Father's Day! My hubby and I never had kids, but we have rescued cats. So, I made my hubby a Card from the Rescued Cats. He does a lot for them and I could never do it all alone. He will tell anyone that he wasn't really a cat person before he met me, I made him love cats. Right now, he is in the recliner taking a nap with our youngest who was rescued a block from our house last October. The poor little guy had been dumped and was crying for help. He would have never made it outside. Thankfully, he ended up with us. He is one of my hubby's best buddies.🐈

This Card from the Rescued Cats features a stamped image and sentiment from the Adopt Don't Shop Cats stamp set by Whimsy Stamps. The image was colored to look like our cats using Copic markers. Black cats are hard to color, but I think it turned out okay. The sentiment was popped up using foam tape and some sequins added for sparkle. So glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Papa Bear Card

Good day! I've had a severe case of the tireds lately and it's been a struggle to make anything. I'd rather lay down for a nap. Anyway, I finally made my dad a Father's Day Card using the retired Papa Bear stamp set by Newton's Nook. It's a simple card, but I adore the image. When I was little my dad would hold me up in the air propped up on his feet. It's a wonderful memory to recreate with a card. I hope he likes it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Masculine 40th Birthday Card

Hello! Today I'm sharing a card I made to help me through a difficult day. This past Saturday would have been my brother's 40th birthday, but he passed away over 3 years ago. Our birthdays were really close together and growing up we usually had a combined birthday party, so my birthday isn't the same without him. I felt like I needed to do something to recognize his special day, so I made this card.

Almost all the supplies used on this Masculine 40th Birthday Card are from Stampin' Up!. However, most of them are also very retired. The stamp set is called Number of Years and the patterned paper is from the Cupcakes & Carousels paper stack. The Stitched with Whimsy Die is current and used around the edge of the paper. A few silver glitter punched stars for sparkle and everything was adhered flat. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.✨

Paw-some Birthday Card

Good day! It's been awhile since I've made a masculine birthday card, so I made this Paw-some Birthday Card today. The image and sentiment are from the Paw-some Birthday stamp set by Newton's Nook. Copic markers were used to color the image and the coordinating dies used to cut it out. Some striped and polka dot papers from the Happy Birthday paper pad by Echo Park (2017) was selected. Everything was adhered flat and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Snarky Cat Card

Happy International Cat Day! These days always sneak up on me, I wish they were printed on my calendar. After reading a few posts this morning, I decided to make this Snarky Cat Card to mark the day. We share our home with cats and I do adore each of them. There have been times that if they could roll their eyes at me, they would have. 😸

The hardest part making this card was deciding which papers to use. I finally settled on neutral tones and then added an embossed blue strip for a pop of color. The cat image and sentiment are from the Snarky Cat stamp set by Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz Collection. A few blue sequins were added and that's it. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. So glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Old Buzzard 70th Birthday Card

Hello! It's been busy at my house and crafting has taken a backseat to other priorities. However, my dad turns 70 in a few days and I needed to make his birthday card. The Old Buzzard stamp set from Whimsy Stamps was perfect for this occasion. Copic markers were used to color the images and then they were die cut with the coordinating dies. The Connected Tile die from Whimsy Stamps was used to give the buzzards a place to perch. The background paper is from the It's a Party paper pad by Pink & Main (it's been in my stash for awhile). To finish off the card the number 70 was stamped using an Echo Park classic numbers stamp set. Then it was punched with a 1" circle and layered with a green scalloped circle. That pretty much sums it up. I appreciate you stopping by and I hope you have a lovely day!

Cute Dragons Valentine Card

Happy Valentine's Day! Today I'm sharing the card I made for my six year old nephew. He loves dinosaurs and dragons look like dinosaurs, so I used the cute Heart Kisses image by Dustin Pike. A mix of Copic markers and Stampin' Blends were used to color the image. The patterned paper is from the Dino Friends paper pad by Echo Park. A sentiment was added and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. That's it, a simple Cute Dragons Valentine Card. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day.💗

Too Legit Card

Good day! It's been awhile since I made my hubby a card. So, I used the fun Hip Hop Bunny stamp set by Taylored Expressions and made him this Too Legit Card. When I met my hubby back in college he had a yellow boom box and we still have it on a shelf in our garage. 😃 It only made sense that I colored the boom box yellow. The background was created using Salty Ocean distress ink and a triangle toss stencil by Taylored Expressions. A polka dot banner anchors the images and a silver die cut star was added next to the sentiment. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Sympathy Card with Trees

Good day! Today I'm sharing a Sympathy Card with Trees that I made using the No Better Words sentiment kit by Unity Stamps. The card is for a friend who lost her father, so I wanted to make a more masculine sympathy card. First I inked up a piece of white cardstock using Peeled Paint, Tumbled Glass and Broken China distress inks. Then I stamped the sentiment, trees and birds with Memento black ink. For the clouds I used Smokey Slate ink by Stampin' Up!. The inked panel was adhered to a retired piece of patterned paper by Stampin' Up! and then adhered to the plaid paper from the retired Plaid Tidings dsp by Stampin' Up!. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. So glad you dropped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Strong Card - TMS #592

Hello! It's time to start another revisited sketch from 2020 this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches we are playing with Patti's favorite sketch. It was originally posted on August 11, 2020 and it's one I designed. The first time around my card was girly, so this time I went masculine. This Strong Card features a piece of woodgrain paper to signify something strong along with the sentiment from Unity Stamps called Strong is your only choice. Some blue polka dot paper from my scrap bin was added along with the three circle elements and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. That's it! We would love for you to join us this week! Mountain Air Sympathy Card

Hello! My sympathy card stash has been depleted and I found myself needing one for a friend who lost his mother. One of the pictures they used for her obituary was her standing in front of a mountain from one of their vacations. So, I decided to use the Mountain Air stamp set to create this Sympathy Card.

All supplies on this card are by Stampin' Up! and the colors include: Misty Moonlight, Seaside Spray, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Soft Sky and Early Espresso. The patterned paper in the background is from the In Color 2020-2022 Designer Series Paper (6 x 6) and the sentiment is retired from the Simply Sketched stamp set. That's it! Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Wooden Father's Day Card

Hello! It's almost Father's Day and to make sure my dad's card arrived on time it needed to be mailed today. So, this afternoon I made this Wooden Father's Day Card and it went straight to the post office when finished. My dad has always worked with wood. He had a cabinet and door making business while I was growing up and he still does a few jobs when persuaded. I used to play around in his shop while he was working. There was always sawdust that need sweeping and when you're a kid it's fun to play in sawdust. This past week he worked on wooden centerpiece accents for my niece's wedding that turned out really nice. Hopefully he will like his Wooden Father's Day Card!

The patterned paper is from the retired Wood Texture paper by Stampin' Up! and the saw stamp is from the retired Stampin' Up! set called Nailed It. The Happy Father's Day sentiment is by Hero Arts and the polka dot paper is by Bo Bunny. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Snarky Cat Card

Hello! A few weeks ago one of my crafty friends, Lisa Lynn, posted a card using the Snarky Cat stamp set and until then I hadn't seen this stamp set by Tim Holtz. Since I have a sarcastic sense of humor and love cats this was the perfect stamp set to add to my collection.

To make this Snarky Cat Card I decided to use a layout by Freshly Made Sketches. The cat was colored with Copic markers and then fussy cut. I decided to make it a masculine card to play along at Simon Says Stamp and C.R.A.F.T.. All the papers have been in my stash for a long time, the stripes are by My Mind's Eye from the Adventure paper pad and the polka dots are by Bo Bunny. I'm also linking this card to the anything goes challenge at Cute Card Thursday. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Cheeky Monkey Smile Card

Hooray for Friday! It's another sunshine filled day here in Oklahoma and the weekend forecast looks wonderful. I've been trying to participate in the 30 Day Coloring Challenge and yesterday I colored this Cheeky Monkey image from Your Next Stamp. So, this morning I made it into a card. All patterned papers are from the It's A Party paper pad by Pink & Main and the image was colored with Copic markers. A few star stickers by Sticko were added for detail and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. That's it, simple and easy.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by!

You're the Best Card

Good day! It's really beautiful outside today and I probably should be doing some yard work, but I decided to make my hubby a card. He does a lot for me and I could do a better job at giving recognition. Although I may say thank you it's been said that actions speak louder than words and I do believe that's true. So I'm trying to be more aware of my actions of gratitude and hopefully he will notice. 😊

This You're the Best Card features a bear from the Patience & Hugs stamp set by Unity Stamps. He was colored with Copic markers and die cut with a cross stitched die by My Favorite Things. The sentiment is from the Butterflies and Sunbeams sentiment kit by Unity Stamps and all patterned paper is from the Take Flight collection by Pink & Main. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Otterly Amazing Card

Hello! I hope all is well in your world today. This afternoon I read the challenge at Simon Says Stamp was to make your own background, so I decided to play along. After finding a couple of masculine challenges at Watercooler Wednesday and Use Your Stuff this Otterly Amazing Card was in the works. The stamp set used is called Otter Friends by Hello Bluebird and I totally feel in love with it the minute I saw it. After coloring the images with Copic markers they were die cut with the coordinating dies. To make the background I used distress inks in Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire. The outer paper started with Sahara Sand cardstock by Stampin' Up! and it was inked with Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap distress inks. Water was spritzed onto the inked papers and some color dabbed away. The heat gun was used to help speed the drying process. A Memory Box die called Underwater Collage was used and the images positioned onto the card. The final addition was the heat embossed sentiment and that's it. I'm also entering this card in the anything goes challenge at Word Art Wednesday. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Here is a closer look at these adorable otters:

Cool Cat Father's Day Card

Hello! Today I'm sharing the card I made for my dad for Father's Day. He is one cool cat, so I used a fun image by Newton's Nook along with papers from the Beach Day paper pad by Carta Bella (2016) to make this card. The image was stamped with Memento black ink and colored with Copic markers. Then it was die cut with the coordinating die. A cross stitched oval was die cut and Tumbled Glass distress ink sponged on to add some color. Finally the sentiment was stamped and adhered. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Encouragement Card - TMS #502

Well, it's another happy Tuesday!!! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will join the challenge this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches. It features one of my favorites shapes... the circle. Circles just make me happy! It's been a while since I've made a masculine card, so that's the direction I took with this Encouragement Card. To allow for the sentiment I turned the sketch horizontal and placed the circles where I thought they looked best. I'm looking forward to how you will use the sketch. For all the challenge details and design team inspiration click HERE. You have until 8 pm EST to link your creation to the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!
