Drummer Bear Card

Good day! A couple of months back my niece and her high school band competed in the state marching band competition and they won 1st in their division. My niece plays the drums, so I made her this Drummer Bear Card to congratulate her on their accomplishment. Hopefully, she will overlook the fact that it took me this long to get it made.😊

The image is from the Party On stamp set by Winnie & Walter and I bought it during their going out of business sale a few years back. To color the image I used Copic markers and then used a stitched circle die to cut it out. The patterned paper has been in my stash for quite some time and it's called Playlist by Hampton Arts (2013). Three die cut silver stars were added for some sparkle and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Butterfly and Music Card

Happy Earth Day! This afternoon I went to the grocery store and when I checked out the clerk offered me a free redbud tree in support of Earth Day. Now I need to find a place in my yard to plant the little tree. I usually try to plant something every year on Earth Day even if it's just flowers in my flowerbeds. Making the Earth a little prettier one plant at a time.

This Butterfly and Music Card was made for my niece to give the donor of a music scholarship she recently received. The scholarship is for a choir group she sings with throughout the year and it was an essay contest to select the scholarship recipients. I used this layout earlier this week and loved how simple it was and it really lets the butterfly stand out. The patterned music paper is from The Paper Studio and a strip of red houndstooth pattern paper by Authentique. The Very Vanilla cardstock was embossed using the decorative dots embossing folder from Stampin' Up! and I used my favorite butterfly stamp from the Watercolor Wings stamp set. Ink colors used on the butterfly include Crisp Cantaloupe, Cherry Cobbler and Basic Black. For a little sparkle some clear Wink of Stella was added to parts of the butterfly. The sentiment is from the same stamp set and was punched with the washi tape punch. Everything is adhered flat for easy shipping and no extra postage costs. That's it!

Music Good Job Card

Hello! This year I'm only making cards with a purpose. Yesterday I mailed off 16 Valentine's Day Cards for the Cards From the Heart Card Drive. Last night I made this Music Good Job Card for my niece who performed in a choir concert last Friday. It feels good to make cards you know someone will enjoy.

To create this Music Good Job Card I've used a sketch from The Paper Players Challenge. The sketch was perfect to fit the larger Good Job sentiment by Stampology into a circle. I used a stitched circle die by My Favorite Things along with my Big Shot. The You Rock sentiment was created using the Crazy About You stamp set by Stampin' Up! I used the color red for my niece's school colors. The red patterned papers are by Authentique and the music note paper is from The Paper Studio. For some sparkle and detail three gold sequins were added and that's it!

A lot of my time lately has been spent sewing! This Peanuts Blanket is my latest project and I've made baby burp cloths to match.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Your Heart Sing Card

"Every single day do something that makes your heart sing."
~Marcia Wieder

This card was part of a make-n-take at a local scrapbook store that I attended last weekend. The stamps are by Impression Obsession. It was nice to have everything already cut to size, stamps mounted and ink pads selected. All I had to do was stamp and assemble. I added the gold sequins when I got home to give it a little sparkle. I really like the selection of stamps, especially the sentiment. Thanks for stopping by. Wishing you a creative day!

You're the Music Valentine's Card

One of my favorite aspects in making handmade cards is the ability to customize your creation to fit the recipient. My task this weekend is to make Valentine's cards to fill a few orders from my coworkers. This You're the Music Valentine's Card was a custom creation for a wife of one of the guys I work with. He told me her favorite colors are red and green and she likes music. Taking that into consideration for the basis of my design I created this You're the Music Valentine's Card. The sentiment was created on my computer. I heat embossed the heart image with Cherry Cobbler emboss powder and dry embossed the green strip of paper using the Fancy Fan embossing folder by Stampin' Up!. The music patterned paper is from Recollections and the remaining papers are all by Stampin' Up!. Before I started I was a little worried about using green, but I must admit I really like how it turned out. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!
