Friday Flashback: All About Everything

Hey y'all!  I just finished my morning workout and I need a minute to cool down :)  So I thought I'd share another Throwback Thursday/Friday Flashback post!  Today's stamp set, All About Everything, was a freebie set in a past Paper Pumpkin kit.  Can't find a Splitcoast gallery for it, but it's a cute little set and I had fun playing with it and some fun, bright colors for today's pair of cards:

Uh, I think I'm in love with Magenta Madness.  I put that together with Pineapple Punch, Old Olive, and Gorgeous Grape, and just stamped a random floral pattern for the main image panels.  I rooted through my collection of punches and found two old label punches (I forget what they were actually named) that worked with the sentiments I chose, which I embossed with white EP on Magenta Madness cardstock.  I've been embossing a lot lately, even though I have to have my heat gun on a transformer which means I have to cart everything downstairs to the kitchen when I want to emboss.

I have tomorrow off so I'm hoping to spend lots of time in my craft room :)  Have a great Thursday, y'all!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  All About Everything
Ink:  Magenta Madness, Old Olive, Pineapple Punch, Gorgeous Grape, Versamark
Paper:  Pineapple Punch, Old Olive, Magenta Madness, Thick Basic White

Ohio Amish Country #1

Well, I thought I'd have time yesterday to make a card to share today, but then I spent an hour and a half in line at the honeybaked ham store and made two batches of cookies.  And I didn't sleep much last night so here it is noon and I'm still in my jammies and don't feel like doing anything but I need to make pies and my little girl dog desperately wants to go for a walk (she might have to get used to disappointment).

So here's one of the layouts from our trip to Ohio's Amish country last October (see the original pics here).  I've never been a giant fan of Blushing Bride, but I just love that picture just to the right of my title that has all the pinky-purply flowers in it and then the pattern from Blooms & Bliss DSP seemed to go so well with it and next thing you know I've got a Blushing Bride scrapbook layout.

Okay so the title took quite a while to stamp because even with photopolymer stamps I have to use a Stamp-a-Ma-Jig to get them straight, but I do really like this alphabet.  And the flower is from All About Everything, which was a surprise gift in the March Paper Pumpkin kit as a celebration for SU! selling a million MPP kits.  Do love that stamp set.

Today's colors:  Blushing Bride, Sweet Sugarplum, Wild Wasabi, and Soft Suede.  Turns out I used Soft Suede for the journaling on all three Ohio layouts I made.  : )

I'm going to go get myself cleaned up while I contemplate pie.  At least pies are less labor-intensive than cookies, only one trip to the oven.  And I'm only making two pies today.  Cheers!

Double the Flowers

Hey, y'all.  I continue to be somewhat lacking in the card-making mojo but on the plus side, I *did* make some progress on my purple-licious scrapbook pages yesterday.  But you won't get to see those for a little bit so here's a card for today:

I think this one worked out a little better in my head than it did on paper.  I used this week's Freshly Made Sketch:

And the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge to use flowers:

I even used the same palette of colors as in this inspiration picture for my card.  As an extra bonus, this one dovetails nicely with the SUO Challenges' Delight in Nature challenge.

Just wasn't thrilled with the first card so I made this one:

It was *supposed* to be a one-layer card, but I got some fuzz on the sentiment stamp the first time I stamped it, so I had to cover it up.  The hazards of living with two dogs, especially one who is extra-super-ridiculously fluffy.  Anyway, this one also fits in the Create with Connie and Mary color challenge:

The piercing template and the oval Framelits I used on these cards are both retired now, but I don't have the new Layering Ovals Framelits yet and no sense not using perfectly good craft supplies.

Well, I'm off to run some errands.  See you back here tomorrow for the Friday Flashback!

Supplies, first card:
Stamps:  All About Everything, Crazy About You
Ink:  Mint Macaron, Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, So Saffron, Perfect Plum
Paper:  Thick Whisper White, Perfect Plum
Accessories:  Ovals Framelits (retired), Hello You Thinlits

Supplies, second card:
Stamps:  Love & Affection
Ink:  Peekaboo Peach, Tangelo Twist, Cucumber Crush
Paper:  Thick Whisper White
Accessories:  Occasions paper piercing template, Dimensionals

Nacho Blog Hop: Mother's Day & Graduation

Happy Sunday,  y'all!  It's time for this month's Nacho Average Challenges blog hop, and this month it's all about moms and graduates.  I don't have any new or recent graduates in my immediate circle, but I did make some Mother's Day cards so that's what I have for you today.

First up is a CAS monochromatic card:

This was for my mom; the white layer is actually Shimmery White and it was made to go with her present:

It's a special edition Starbucks mug for Disneyland's Diamond Anniversary (my mom was born the same year Disneyland opened, so it's her diamond anniversary too!).  There's a gemstone in one of the Occasions catalog sets, but I don't have that one, so I looked in my past Paper Pumpkin stamp sets and found the one I used which I thought was perfect.  One die cut word and stamped sentiment later, and that card was done!

Next up is something tea-riffic:

We got my MIL some herbal teas from a tea shop in Old Town Alexandria, so I made a tea-related card to go with.  The sentiment is from a recent Paper Pumpkin kit (because I might not put the kits together, but I DO use the stamps pretty often!)

Last up is a picture frame for my SIL's desk at work:

She's a new mama, so I thought I should get her something for her first Mother's Day.  She can put a 4x6 photo on there and have it on her desk when she goes back to work full time.  How do you like the ladybugs?  They're made with two circle punches (1/2" and 1") and the sweetheart punch turned upside down.  I loved how they turned out.  I tried stamping the spots all over the heart but decided I liked just a few sprinkles of spots better.

Supplies, first card:
Stamps:  Crazy About You, past My Paper Pumpkin
Ink:  Pacific Point
Paper:  Pacific Point, Shimmery White
Accessories:  Hello You Thinlits

Supplies, second card:
Stamps:  My Paper Pumpkin
Ink:  Basic Gray, Blushing Bride, Old Olive
Paper:  Pool Party, Blushing Bride, Sahara Sand, Birthday Bouquet DSP
Accessories:  Cups & Kettles Framelits, Circles Framelits, Dimensionals

Supplies, picture frame:
Stamps:  Larger than Life Alphabet, All About Everything, Made with Love (spots), Watercolor Wings (antennae)
Ink:  Garden Green, Basic Black, Real Red
Paper:  Pear Pizzazz, Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White, Real Red DSP
Accessories:  1/2" and 1" circle punches, Sweetheart punch, Deco Labels Framelits

Celebrate Good Times, Come On!

Ya know what, if you didn't get the April My Paper Pumpkin kit then I'm a little sad you missed out on the All About Everything stamp set, because it's awesome.  (The stamps for the April MPP project are cute too, but in my opinion it's all about All About Everything.)  Anyway, since I busted out one of the AAE sentiments for yesterday's card, I thought I'd showcase some of the other stamps in the set today.

I might have a zillion flower sets, but I puffy heart love the style of these flowers.  The sentiment is two different stamps; the set is designed so you can mix and match bits and pieces to make your own sentiments and they're my favorite mixed font.  Except this one is all the same font, but yesterday's was mixed font.

Anywha, I used this week's Retro Sketch:

No color challenge this time, I just picked some bright colors that made me happy (and won't Missy be happy too that the two main colors are Baylor green and gold!).  Since I did the sentiment in black ink, I decided the ribbon element needed to be black too, but I have almost no current ribbon and nothing that's black so I dug up some retired black taffeta and I still miss the taffeta ribbon because it was awesome and how long do you think I can keep this sentence going :D  Anyway, I kept the knot a little bit loose so when this card goes in an envelope, it won't be a big bump right there to anger the postal sorting machines.  So who's going to get it?  I suppose the next person I know that has a reason to celebrate!

Well, time for me to get ready to go to the gym so I can work off the lasagna I had for dinner last night (even if I was on the treadmill for hours, it would STILL be worth it!).  Have a peachy keen day, jellybeans!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  All About Everything
Ink:  Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Basic Black
Paper:  Daffodil Delight, Thick Whisper White, Garden Green DSP
Accessories:  retired black taffeta ribbon

Spring Swallowtail

Mornin', y'all!  How's it going?  I was up wayyyy too late last night because just as I was going to bed I remembered that the Stampin' Up! retirement list would be posted, as well as the sneak peek at the new catalog just for us demonstrator types.  So yeah, it was midnight when I finally crawled into bed :)  I haven't even really taken a good look at the retirement list yet, just scanned it, but there is a certain butterfly that is retiring...

It just so happens that I had made this Swallowtail card before I saw the retirement list.  The sentiment stamps are from All About Everything, which was a special gift to Paper Pumpkin subscribers this month and it is ridiculously cute.

Today's colors are courtesy of Cupcake Inspirations:

I used Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride, and Rose Red for my SU! color version.

Next up is the Fab Friday sketch challenge:

And the CASE the Designer challenge from Global Design Project:

I thought the doily on the Fab Friday sketch went well with the inspiration card from GDP.  I also used the same stripey paper on my card.

Last but not least is the theme challenge from the Paper Players:

Sadly I missed the part where it said "CAS" on the challenge--I think my card qualifies as clean lines, but not really CAS.  But it was the Paper Players' fault that I broke out the butterfly so I'm putting it here anyway.

Well, I'd better get ready to go...have to take my car for an oil change today.  Cheers, y'all!
