Baby Luke: February

Hey y'all, happy Saturday!  Ready for another baby book layout?

I think that teeny heart pattern might be my all-time favorite Valentine DSP from Stampin' Up!  It's always a fun challenge to do a Valentine layout for a baby boy that isn't really super girly.  Yes I have the heart paper, and several shades of pink and red, but then there's the cute doggo and accessories to make it more boyish.  Looking at this now I kinda wish I'd done a slightly bigger circle for the dog stamp to give him a bit more room to "breathe".

'Nother rainy day here, how's your weekend going?  Cheers, y'all!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Happy Tails, And Everything Nice, Bow Wow, dog from Whipper Snapper
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Crumb Cake, Stampin' Blends in Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Balmy Blue
Paper:  Flirty Flamingo, Lovely Lipstick, Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake, Thick Whisper White, All My Love DSP
Accessories:  Sizzix letters, Layering Circles dies, circle punches

Sadie Belle

Hey y'all.  Last week was really tough for me.  It's been a week since she died, and I'm still looking for our Sadie girl in all her favorite spots.  Sigh.

After Vader died last year, I really put some effort into getting a lot of our dog pictures scrapped.  We loved those doggos, and as I told my husband, I'd wager that I spent more time in a room with one or both of them over the last 13+ years than I have with HIM.  Today's layout is from right when we first adopted our Sadie in July of 2006.

Sadie was an accidental acquisition :)  We had driven up to Greenville for the day and I wanted to go to their Michaels, which was right next to Petsmart, and they were doing an adoption event and there was Sadie all tiny and cute and extra fluffy and it was love at first sight and she came home with us.  I miss our girl.  And Vader.  But I'm glad I made all the pages for them that I have; I'll need to get the album put together soon.

Today's girly color palette is Pink Pirouette, Close to Cocoa, Barely Banana, Real Red, and Basic Black.  Sadie came home with a brown collar (I think it had fish on it?! Maybe it was actually a cat collar) but we soon got her a red collar and she wore red for the rest of her life.  Vader wore a blue collar.

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Letters for You, Brushwork Alphabet, Hearts a Flutter, Bow Wow
Ink:  Pink Pirouette, Close to Cocoa, Basic Black
Paper:  Pink Pirouette, Barely Banana, Loves Me DSP

Sadie's Sn'ow

Scrappy Monday!  Did you have a good weekend?  I got two layouts completely finished and three more that just need journaling.  Woohoo!

For today I have another Sadie-as-a-puppy layout that I made fairly recently.

Sadie had this toy that was long like a snake but had a head like a cow, so we squished the two words together and called it a sn'ow (rhymes with cow).  She LOVED that thing!  Actually I think she went through four or five of them before she was done teething.

Today's color palette includes Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Lovely Lipstick, and Whisper White.  Sadie's bed and her collar are red IRL, but the way the photos printed it looked more like a very deep hot pink, so Lovely Lipstick it was for my accent color.

Have a great day y'all!  We're heading off for the gym in a bit.

Stamps:  Empire Alphabet, Letters For You, Bow Wow
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Lovely Lipstick, Basic Black marker

Cold Dog Noses

Scrappy Monday, y'all!  Hope your week is off to a good start.  I've got a busy day ahead; need to do some cleaning around the house and I want to take the little one to Target this afternoon.  But for right now, how about a scrapbook layout!

I was looking through my scrapbook pages for something bright and summery to share today and came up with this one.  These aren't the best pictures of my little doggos, and certainly not the most flattering either, but they make me laugh so I had to scrap them.  I can't tell you how many times I've awakened to see a giant dog nose just inches from my face.  They don't do it to the hubs, just me!

The letters look better on that polka-dot paper IRL than they do in the picture, it kinda makes my eyes want to cross looking at the picture.  I just stamped the letters from the Big Deal Alphabet on Whisper White paper and cut them out; I seem to do that a lot.

One very simple accent made with the retired Hearts Framelits and one wee paw print stamp.  I have it stored with a set called Bow Wow, but I think it might not have actually been from that set originally--seems like I found the paw print elsewhere, but it fit in to the set style-wise so I always kept it in the box with the stamp set.

Today's very bright and appropriately summery color palette includes Cucumber Crush, Tangelo Twist, Crushed Curry, Tempting Turquoise, Basic Black and Whisper White.  They only just retired the color family DSP packs and I already miss them.  But I'm sure I'll keep using them on my scrapbook pages!

Cheers, y'all!  Have a great week.  I'm going to go rescue the tiny human from his crib.

Ink:  Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise, Cucumber Crush
Paper:  Cucumber Crush, Tempting Turquoise, Tangelo Twist, Crushed Curry, Whisper White, Tangelo Twist & Crushed Curry DSP

Happy Birthday Sadie

I'm so happy to be reunited with my pups!  So today I'm sharing a layout from Sadie's birthday.

Sadie is the disgruntled-looking dog in the red hat.  You can see the pics up close on this blog post.

And there's how I did the title, and I used the same DSP I made myself as from the layout for Vader's birthday.  I actually did these layouts back-to-back so they coordinate quite a lot.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Vader

Our packers arrive today so for the next little bit I'm sharing a whole lotta scrapbook pages I've made over the last few months :)  And today I've got some doggy birthday pages!

I am in love with that picture of my little Vader wanting to chomp on that brownie, candle and all.  You can see the original pics here.

I didn't have any good dog-themed scrapbook paper so I made my own with stamps.  Hope this gave you a giggle today and have a wonderful day!
