Stars & Stripes Forever

Scrappy Monday, y'all!  Ryan and I are very excited that it's July--today we'll have our FINAL monthly ice cream date and we can count down the days until our reunion with the hubs on ONE HAND.  So today's layout is a celebration too!

We were allowed to have fireworks at our house in North Carolina, so the hubs bought some and we had a little fireworks show in our driveway in 2020.  This time the hubs gave Ryan some headphones to cut down on the noise so he wasn't scared like he had been the year before--he loved it!  And I had fun choosing fireworks and stars images for this layout.

Today's patriotic palette:  Real Red, Pool Party, Blueberry Bushel, Night of Navy, and Whisper White.

Have a great day, peeps!

Oscars Night 2

Finally getting around to posting the sequel to A Night at the Oscars...I made it a while ago but I've been busy enough to keep up with card challenges in the meantime : )

So after all the usual cake cutting and champagne toasting, there was karaoke (it was much more entertaining and fun than you might think, given that a good chunk of the attendees were musical theater types) and dancing.  We had a blast dancing to "Thriller" even though we only remember a teeny bit of the choreography, and we also got to take pictures with cardboard cutouts of famous movie stars.  Then at the very end of the night, we were instructed to gather 'round in a circle for the "friendship song", which turned out to be a singalong to Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody".

It was awesome fun, you shoulda been there.

Cheers, peeps!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Giant Nacho Christmas Star

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Are you ready for another sketch from Nacho Average Challenges?  'Cause here it is:

I had to put my thinking cap on for this one, but here's what I came up with:

I had the idea for the giant Christmas star on the right, but then I was looking in my paper scraps for a different project and came across several of those stripey rectangles that were leftover from something else.  So I thought hey, let's use those!  And voila.  This card took like five minutes to make!  The star is stamped on Shimmery White cardstock so it looks a little fancier IRL, and that's a giant rhinestone in the center which also looks better in person.

Anyway, stop by the Nacho blog to see what the other Nachos have come up with and then get out your stamps and play along!
