DIY Pocket Cloth Diaper #crafts #sewing

COM
If you have noticed in my other blogs, I have been mentioning about my handmade products for my children. I have to say, it's more customized and cheaper and even more durable because I know the right kind of materials to use, without spending a fortune for one single merchandise.

This time I also make my son's Pocket Cloth Diaper. For those who  are aware of Cloth diapers you know what I am talking about. Fortunately, I started my son and decided to cloth diaper him when he was 5 months old.
Laid the PUL and Microfleece cloth..ready for sewing

My ever first pocket cloth diaper

At first it was difficult to sew something new, later on after I finished 3 pieces of cloth diapers things becomes easier.

If not being interrupted, I can accomplish at least 5 pieces of cloth diapers in an hour, that includes cutting, putting the snaps and more.

Quite easy now and I'm getting addicted to the sewing machine too, getting used of how it works for me is even better.

Knitted Candy Corn Hat... #crafts #knitting

Since fall is in the air, with all the changing colors of the trees, I guess it's time for me to knit my younger son his own Candy Corn hat to go along with the season.

YES!!! I have to say, I'm more into handmade stuffs and I'd like to make something for my adorable boys, so they can wear them at any time or during the season comes.

It was simple to knit, didn't take me that long to finish a hat for a baby because there is nothing much design to use.

Now, both my sons have their own pair of Candy Corn hat to wear this month or until the next occasion comes.

How to Care for Your Quilt

COM
Investing in a quality quilt is a great idea, but if you fail to take care of it properly, you may find your dollars going to waste. Getting the maximum amount of wear out of a quilt is not hard to do, but there are a few steps you need to take to keep your quilt fresh and cozy for years to come.

#1:  Read the product care label

The very best piece of advice on caring for your quilt, is to always read and follow the product care label. Different quilts need to be cared for in different ways, and the care labels attached provide information about what you should and should not do to look after your quilt.

#2:  Before first use

Prior to using your new quilt for the first time, remove it from the packaging and air it out in a location that is warm, preferably on a day with a breeze. It is generally not necessary for you to wash your quilt before its first use.

#3:  Frequent airing is good

Particularly if you have a wool quilt, regularly airing it out in the sunshine is recommended. In fact, many wool quilt manufacturers recommend doing this rather than washing your quilt.

#4:  Take care if machine washing

Refer to the care label on your quilt to check whether it is suitable for machine washing. Do not attempt to machine wash if this is not recommended for the quilt that you have.
If you have a machine-washable wool quilt, be aware that many should not be laundered in a top loading machine with agitator. These quilts should only be machine washed in a front loader machine, at the recommended water temperature and with wool cycle selected. Also, it is recommended that the detergent you add is approved for wool wash.

For particularly large wool products, some quilt companies advocate use of commercial washing machines in an effort to minimise damage.

#5:  Caring for dry cleanable products

If you have a quilt that can be dry cleaned (and this is noted on the care instructions label), take your quilt to a reputable, high quality dry cleaning agent. Remember too that airing a wool quilt in the breeze and sunshine can be the most effective way to launder and rejuvenate your quilt.

#6:  Storing your quilt

If you would like to store your quilt, it is advisable to use a bag that ‘breathes’, as this will also allow your quilt to ‘breathe’. While space and other airtight bags are popular from the point of view of maximizing storage space, they can damage quality quilts. Store your quilt in a place that is dry and effectively ventilated.

When removing your wool quilt from storage, hang it up and give it a light spray with water before taking it outside to air on a warm, breezy day. Leave your quilt to air for two to three hours before you use it.

Quality quilts represent a significant investment. If you aren’t quite sure what makes a good quilt, check out specialist manufacturers of wool quilts like  Mini Jumbuk online   for a rundown on the benefits. It is wise to take the best possible care of your quilt so that it is maintained in a healthy, hygienic way and will last you for many years.

Finally used this

Sewing Machine was one of my lists to have someday. Through this, I can sew my family’s ripped clothes; I can sew curtains or just any kind of crafting. I was very thankful that we don’t need to buy one and use the money from our own pocket as my husband’s family gave me a very nice sewing machine. His grandmother who is now living in the Nursing Home for almost a year previously owned these and just recently, I finally used the machine to sew curtains for our window.

It's fun the first time I used this, as I have to make sure that the bobbin, the needle, and the thread are in the right place and still working.  Since it’s been stuck with me for almost a year too, this took me hours before I figured out and settles.

Now, I can’t wait to sew more curtains and I hope in a long run, I’ll be able to sew different designs for the curtains and covers at home.

Replica to ours

While watching a new television series, I saw this picture framed in the background that is almost similar to what we have in Philippines. It is my second older sister who made it out of a cross stitch. The one we have at home has only three girls who were flying kites and the mother because it is symbolized us three girls and our mother. It is nice to see that you can see things from a movie that reminds you of home.

While I was watching continuously I was wondering of the place this movie was taken. It has a nice place location. I want a place just like it. So, I was searching online to fill me in and here I was found the Canyon Lake real estate, Lake Elsinore real estate, Menifee real estate, Temecula real state, and Murrieta real state. Every real state is in CA, if I search more I'm sure I could find someone  closer to ours. They are pretty nice, if you need one don't hesitate to check one of the link I have here.

First Christmas Stocking

COM
I was encourage to make a Christmas Stocking for my immediate family in Philippines. While watching TV Online it motivates me to pursue the challenge. Although, I have so many wrong knits made on this first one but on the later part it helps me figure out how to read nor even balance the pattern in case I make a wrong knit again.

I am super excited to give this to my immediate family. Since I am almost done to the last stocking, I was thinking of making the entire family of my siblings. Isn't that a wonderful Christmas present? They will start stuff their stocking every Christmas day.

Something that I have learned here to be pass on my entire family way back in my homeland.
