Who Would Have Thought Ramadan Would Cause Violence In Germany?

I'm convinced that, in order to be a Muslim, you simply have to be angry 24/7 and that it takes nothing to set off your fuse.  Hell, refugees in Germany can't even agree on the edicts of their so-called religion.

The story comes from DAWN.

'Ramazan row' behind fire at German refugee shelter

BERLIN: A quarrel over meal times during the Muslim holy month of Ramazan likely sparked an arson attack that destroyed a German refugee shelter, said a report Thursday quoting prosecutors.

The huge blaze in the western city of Duesseldorf on Tuesday completely levelled a hall that housed 282 male asylum seekers mostly from Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and North African countries, with 28 people suffering from smoke inhalation.

Police have detained eight men allegedly involved in the dispute, including two men suspected of arson, both Moroccans aged 26, one of whom allegedly poured a flammable liquid onto a mattress and set it alight.

Witnesses reported that there had been recurring tensions between followers of different religions in the Red Cross-run facility.

“During this time of Ramadan, there was one group that wanted to strictly observe the fast, and another that insisted on the usual timetables and usual servings,” said Ralf Herrenbrueck, spokesman for the prosecutors service.

“This had led on several occasions to disputes and altercations with officials of the German Red Cross,” he said in an interview with public broadcaster WDR.

“It got to the point where threats were made over what would happen if things didn't change, and that one threat was obviously implemented.”

Since the start of the year, police had been called 89 times to the 6,000-square-metre hall, which was formerly part of the city's congress centre, reports said.

Muslims in America Uneasy About End of Ramadan Falling On September 11th

Good. Muslim leaders across the U.S. are paranoid and I, for one, am glad to see it. You see, this year, the last day of the islamic holiday of Ramadan, when muslims celebrate ...well, it just so happens that it falls around September 11th and we have some muslim leaders going to far as to contact law enforcement agencies to alert them that they think they might be targeted for celebrating during that time frame. Well, is that MY fault? One of the islamic leaders is CAIR's spokesperson, Ibrahim Hooper (who used to be your typical white Christian boy, Doug Hooper, from the heartland of America, before he decided to turn his back on his people and his country)...perhaps Hooper should be blaming Osama bin Laden for his paranoia instead of the American people huh?

Here's what Hooper and other had to say about this uncomfortable timing this year, from Breitbart:

The Council on American-Islamic Relations, a Washington-based civil rights group, is urging mosques to review the group's security guidelines, including clearing brush where people could hide and installing surveillance cameras.

"The issue I can sense brewing on hate sites on the Internet is, `These Muslims are celebrating on September 11,'" said Ibrahim Hooper, national spokesman for CAIR. "It's getting really scary out there."

"It's like being offended that 9/11 and Christmas fall on the same day," said Safaa Zarzour, secretary general of the Islamic Society of North America, an Indiana-based communal group with tens of thousands of members. "There is something unsettling about that."
Can you believe this crap?! Hooper says it's scary out there - well, piss on you Doug...I'll tell you what is scary...being on the 115th floor of a skyscraper with 30 floors of fire below you and 20 floors of fire above you - that's scary, putz. And as for the clown from ISNA, no it's NOT like Christmas falling on 9/11 - only islam would find itself in this situation, doofus.

I'll tell you what it's like - it's like a convicted pedophile getting out of prison and moving into a neighborhoos where everyone in that neighborhood is alerted to exactly what the pervert did and got convicted of and when this perverted asswipe goes out and get his mail and feels the eyes of an entire neighborhood on him and he feels uncomfortable - THAT's what it is like.

And it is well deserved.

US Muslims prep for Islamic holiday _ around 9/11

NEW YORK (AP) - The lunar calendar that Muslims follow for religious holidays is creating a potential for misunderstandings or worse in a year when American Muslims are already confronting a spike in assaults on their faith and protests against new mosques.
Eid al-Fitr, a joyous holiday marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, this year falls around Sept. 11. Muslim leaders fear that their gatherings for prayer and festivities could be misinterpreted by those unfamiliar with Islam as a celebration of the 2001 terrorist strikes.

The Muslim Public Affairs Council, an advocacy group based in Los Angeles, is contacting law enforcement and the Justice Department civil rights division to alert them to the overlap.

The Islamic Circle of North America, which organizes Muslim Family Days at the Six Flags amusement park in several cities around Eid al-Fitr, this year planned nothing for Saturday, Sept. 11, because of the anniversary. A founder of Muslim Family Day, Tariq Amanullah, worked at the World Trade Center and was killed in the attacks.

The exact date of Eid al-Fitr this year is not yet known. Muslims follow different authorities on moonsightings and astronomical calculations to decide when a holiday begins. In North America, the eid could fall on Thursday, Sept. 9, Friday, Sept. 10, or Saturday, Sept. 11.

It is one of the two biggest Muslim holidays of the year, often compared to Christmas in its significance and revelry. (The other major holiday is Eid al-Adha, at the end of the hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca.)

Muslims who rarely attend congregational prayer fill mosques to overflowing on Eid al-Fitr. Mosque leaders often rent hotel ballrooms or convention centers to handle the crowds. Families wear their best clothes, exchange gifts, plan special meals with friends and relatives, sometimes decorate their homes inside and out, and organize carnivals for children.

In predominantly Muslim countries, the celebration can last for three days. But because of work and school obligations in the U.S., American Muslims generally attend congregational prayer on the day of the holiday, then continue the festivities over the next weekend or two.

Most mosques usually intensify security around Ramadan because of the attention the month brings. This year, leaders have grown especially concerned about safety. In recent months, mosques around the country have faced protests and vandalism. The debate over a proposed mosque and Islamic center near ground zero has become a national issue.

Yet well before these recent tensions, American Muslim leaders saw trouble ahead when they checked the calendar. Haroon Moghul, a New York Muslim leader who speaks regularly at mosques, said mosque leaders have been discussing Eid al-Fitr for months.

"When we realized that Ramadan would be ending around that time, a lot of people started sitting down together and saying, `How do we handle this in a way that's appropriate?'" said Moghul, executive director of Maydan Institute, a communications consulting company.

Moghul said most New York Muslims likely won't celebrate the way they normally do, and noted that a significant number lost relatives when the World Trade Center was destroyed. Many imams in the city plan sermons on dealing with loss and grief.

"It's a very painful day for everyone," Moghul said.

However, he and other American Muslim leaders don't want to make so many changes that they appear to be giving in to those who reject any Muslim observance in the United States. Some critics have said Muslims should move the date of the eid.

"It's like being offended that 9/11 and Christmas fall on the same day," said Safaa Zarzour, secretary general of the Islamic Society of North America, an Indiana-based communal group with tens of thousands of members. "There is something unsettling about that."

Yvonne Maffei, 35, of Des Plaines, Ill., a Chicago suburb, said she and her husband plan to stick with their usual Eid al-Fitr plan. They will attend morning prayers at their local mosque, go out for brunch then visit friends during the day.

"I think most Americans understand the value and place of religious holidays in a person's life," said Maffei, editor of My Halal Kitchen, a blog with recipes that meet Islamic dietary laws. "For those who don't, I just hope they will take the time to try and understand not only why we are celebrating at this time, but also what we are celebrating, which is the end of the holy month of Ramadan, a blessed month of fasting and attaining closeness to Allah."

Rizwan Jaka, a board member of the All Dulles Area Muslim Society, based in Sterling, Va., near Washington, D.C., said he hopes the attention to Muslim traditions during the month of Ramadan will help educate non-Muslims and decrease the likelihood of any problems.

He said the mosque will reach out to its interfaith partners and others ahead of the eid. The All Dulles Society is one of the largest mosques in the country and expects to host as many as 20,000 worshippers during the holiday at several locations.

Jaka said the board met a few weeks ago to discuss the overlapping dates and decided to include condemnations of terrorism and extremism in the holiday sermons. The mosque will also hold its annual interfaith, memorial and peace events tied to the anniversary.

"Could there be some misperceptions because of the anti-Muslim climate? Potentially," Jaka said. "We will make sure our neighbors and friends understand that we all stand firmly as Americans for peace and for creating an environment of respect."

IDF Soldiers Told Not To Eat, Smoke or Drink In Front of Muslims During Ramadan

Well, I had to read this story twice to believe it. But apparently the IDF higher ups have released an order to IDF soldiers telling them to be sensitive to the muslim holiday of Ramadan where muslims refrain from eating and other life's pleasures and necessities and said soldiers are not to eat, smoke or drink in front of muslims if at all possible.

You know, this sounds like some kind of crock of shit that some commie islamic-appeaser in the Obama administration would come up with, not the likes of the IDF leadership.

Here's some of the story from Israel National News:

Instructions issued by the IDF for the Muslim month of Ramadan forbid soldiers from eating, drinking or smoking in front of the Arabs of Judea and Samaria. A statement issued by the IDF Spokesman said that as the Muslim holiday approaches, representatives of the Civilian Administration "briefed the forces operating in the field about the holidays and customs of Ramadan.”

The grassroots Samaria Residents' Council was not happy with the instructions issued to the soldiers. “It is sad to see how the Minister of Defense shows such grand consideration for the Muslim faith, and at the same time sends IDF soldiers and Border Police to tear down synagogues, beat up rabbis of communities, issue demolition orders for yeshivas and drag Jewish youths by their earlocks.”

I don't know about you folks but I am utterly and completely sick and tired of the world's population having to adjust their damn lifestyle because there happen to be fucking muslims walking this Earth. I mean, give me a break here. We have how many Israeli families who bear the scars of islamic terror imposed upon their lives at some time or another? Whether it be during a war with Egypt or a suicide bombing by a Hamas terrorist or a Hezbollah rocket that struck an Israeli tank...the Israeli people and certainly the IDF have earned the right to not pay any homage to the ideology of Mo.

I am a Christian. I've gotten to experience seeing the likeness of my Messiah encased in a vile of urine, I've gotten to experience people ripping The Holy Bible to shreds, I've gotten to experience my sisters and brothers in this country and other countries across the world being slaughtered for their devotion to the Christ. And I have never lashed out, nor complained, nor protested over it. Because my faith is true, my faith is strong, and I was told by the Son and the Father to expect it.

But if you are a muslim who believes in the fairytale of the Qur'an and you are never at peace with yourself due to it, then the whole damn world has to accomodate your paranoia and insecurity.

It's my hope that the IDF leadership will reconsider this - those IDF soldiers sacrifice enough to protect the Israeli people to have to worry about what spot in the street they decide to grab a smoke or an afternoon snack.

Ramadan: Soldiers Told Not to Eat or Smoke in Front of Arabs

Instructions issued by the IDF for the Muslim month of Ramadan forbid soldiers from eating, drinking or smoking in front of the Arabs of Judea and Samaria. A statement issued by the IDF Spokesman said that as the Muslim holiday approaches, representatives of the Civilian Administration "briefed the forces operating in the field about the holidays and customs of Ramadan.”

"The soldiers were instructed to show greater consideration toward the residents, and to refrain as much as possible from eating, drinking and smoking in public in front of the population, especially at the crossing points, and to be alert and accommodating.”

Devout Muslims refrain from eating, drinking or smoking during the daytime hours of Ramadan.

Several checkpoints will operate until later hours because of Ramadan. In addition, first-degree relatives of Arabs living in pre-1967 Israel will be allowed to visit them for a one-week period during the month of Ramadan.

Two hundred entry permits for foreigners from Arab countries will be issued for “humanitarian cases.”

The Council asks: “Is he Ehud Barak or Ahmed Barak?”

Apparently The Ramadan Ceasefire Is Over - Pakistan Kills Over 100 Taliban

Well, as I predicted, the Taliban didn't do much to observe the peace during the month of Ramadan so it appears that the Pakistani government has called off their weakling response of a Ramadan ceasefire and is back to killing Taliban in the NW provinces of the country. Good. Here's some of the details from Sky News:

Pakistani troops backed by tanks and fighter jets killed as many as 100 militants in a restive northwestern tribal area.

'We launched strikes against militant hideouts in Bajaur and destroyed several compounds they were using,' a security official said.
'According to the latest information from the area, between 80 and 100 militants were killed,' he said, noting that the figure was based on intelligence intercepts of militant communications.
The official said the strikes were launched after the rebels ambushed a security patrol near the town of Inayat Kili. A market used by the militants for cover was entirely destroyed.
Earlier, a security official told AFP that an office of the outlawed terrorist outfit Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) had also been destroyed.
On Wednesday Pakistani troops killed 22 militants in Bajaur.

You know, this new government of Pakistan reminds me of what would happen with Barack Hussein Obama at the helm of America. They took over and decided that they would embark on a plan of appeasement and negotiation and olive branch talks with the Taliban, but after countless civilians and military were killed and attacks continued day in and day out, the government finally pulled their heads out of their asses and fought back. But, this month they reverted back to that old "peace will win them over" strategy and called off any military response for Ramadan. And that has basically lasted for a week until they could not ignore the constant ambushes by the Taliban.

I see Hussein Obama doing the same bloody thing - try and show off for the world with his gift of gab and that silver tongue and in the meantime, put Americans and all of the West in danger. If by any chance ANY Obama supporter were to read this, I implore you to learn from this Pakistani lesson.

Up to 100 militants killed in Pakistan

Pakistani troops backed by tanks and fighter jets killed as many as 100 militants in a restive northwestern tribal area.
Pakistani forces have for weeks been targeting militant positions in Bajaur tribal region in a major operation that has seen more than 600 killed - most of them militants - and more than 260,000 people displaced.
Elsewhere in Bajaur, Taliban militants shot dead three pro-government tribesmen accusing of spying for the authorities, a local official said.
Their bodies were found early Thursday morning near a road in the Tally area.
'They were shot in the neck and a note found with their bodies said all those indulging in activities against Taliban and cooperating with the government will suffer the same fate,' the official said.
Militants have killed several tribesmen, accusing them of spying for the Pakistani government and US forces operating across the border in Afghanistan.
Pakistan's lawless tribal regions have been wracked by violence since hundreds of Taliban and al-Qaeda rebels fled there after the US-led invasion of Afghanistan in late 2001.

Taliban Observe Ramadan By Car Bombing 13 Pakistanis To Death

Did I not predict this? Actually, it wasn't much of a prediction - it's more like stating that the sun will rise in the East but we noted here the other day that the Pakistani government had decided to halt all military operations in NW Pakistan in observance of the islamic fastfest of Ramadan and I simply scoffed at that since I knew the Taliban and al Qaeda would never stop their violence. And so, today...the Taliban drove a pickup jammed with explosives into a check point...blew it up....killed 13 Pakistanis and injured more than 60. Here's some of the details from Breitbart:

A pickup truck packed with a large amount of explosives blew up a security checkpoint in Pakistan's volatile northwest Saturday, killing at least 13 people and injuring nearly 60 in an attack that may have been intended for a more important target, police said.
The suicide attack occurred on the outskirts of Peshawar on the day Pakistani lawmakers voted for a new president, underscoring the challenges facing a country the U.S. has pressured to crack down on insurgents.
Television footage showed a blast crater three feet deep and destroyed vehicles and pieces of debris scattered across a large area. Officials said many people were trapped under the rubble of damaged buildings in a nearby market. Civilians dug frantically with their hands in hopes of finding survivors.

The AP writer goes on in the article to say that no one claimed responsibility yet for the attack - as if there was any doubt on that! I guess what I'd like to point out here is this....part of radical islam, part of the Taliban mode of operating is the most extreme interpretation of the Qur'an and of islam in itself. So, we have the Taliban following the strictest guidelines of the theology day in and day out but in situations like this, they defy the idea of Ramadan which calls for an end of violence and such acts. And that is what makes the Taliban so unpredicatable. They will do things totally inconsistent with a "religion" that they claim is the basis of their mission, yet they consistently do things INCONSISTENT with that "religion." These Taliban are simply natural born killers.

Police: Blast in northwestern Pakistan kills 13

PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) - A pickup truck packed with a large amount of explosives blew up a security checkpoint in Pakistan's volatile northwest Saturday, killing at least 13 people and injuring nearly 60 in an attack that may have been intended for a more important target, police said.
Nasirulmulk Bangash, a top police official in the area, said the vehicle carried at least 330 pounds of explosives—an amount he called "unprecedented"—and was apparently en route to Peshawar, the capital of the North West Frontier Province.
The amount of explosives indicated the attack was aimed at a higher-value target than the small checkpoint, but might have been tripped up by high security on election day, Bangash said, without speculating on what the intended target might have been.
At least 13 people died and nearly 60 were wounded, Bangash said.
Several of the dead were believed to be police manning the post. At Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar, officials said about 30 wounded people had come for treatment.
"They have got multiple wounds," physician Mohammad Idrees said. "Some of them have their arms and legs broken, and others have got head injuries. We have declared an emergency here."
Sher Zaman, 15, told The Associated Press from a hospital bed that he was selling fruit from a cart at the market when he heard a large explosion and was knocked down when something hit him in the chest. He said residents quickly gathered and helped transport casualties to hospitals.
No one immediately claimed responsibility for Saturday's blast.
In recent weeks, however, the Pakistani Taliban have said they were to blame for a string of suicide bombings they called revenge for military offensives in the northwest region, which borders Afghanistan. One attack killed nearly 70 people at a major weapons factory.
Pakistan has struggled to contain rising militancy in its borders, and the fledgling government has tried both peace talks and military operations to stop the insurgents.
It's an effort watched closely by the U.S., which says that militants have safe havens in Pakistan's northwest from which they plan attacks in neighboring Afghanistan.
A recent U.S.-led ground cross-border assault on a Pakistani tribal region, said to have killed at least 15 people, prompted protests from the government and angered many Pakistanis.
Asif Ali Zardari, widower of slain ex-Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, won the presidency. He has vowed to be tough on militancy.

Somali Islamists Shut Down/Destroy Restaurants For Ramadan Violations

The islamists in Somalia have begun an operation of shutting down restaurants in the country that have been serving food during the day and violating Ramadan's principles. The islamic observance of Ramadan basically consists of fasting throughout the day and supposedly, muslims are supposed to stop beheading people and blowing up children during those hours as well (I think it's okay to bomb a school bus full of children as long as it is dark out). Here's some of the report out of allAfrica:

Islamist fighters have forced several restaurants to close for Ramadan in middle Shabelle because it would "violate the sanctity" of the month.
Authorities said serving daily meals are contrary to the order of Ramadan and it has been blocked the opening of restaurants during daylight hours during the month of fasting.

The commander of Islamist fighters in Maxaas area where the incident happened Ali Bile has made it known that no-one will be permitted to violate the sanctity of the month.
"We will not forgive anyone who violates our religion and sanctity of Ramadan" Bile said.

Okay, so you are saying to yourself, "well yeah, but this is Somalia." But hold on one minute here. Let's internalize all of this for the United States of America. We have seen here in America a threat imposed upon the American people by the likes of C.A.I.R. and other islamic leadership that will make it a "hate crime" for an American to point out suspicious behavior on an airplane. We have seen colleges and universities and high schools sued for not serving proper islamic foods. We have seen foot baths erected in public buildings to accommodate islamists. And we have seen companies sued in America for not allowing muslim women in America to wear their hijabs.

So I ask you...as the soft jihad of America continues day in and day out...do you really think it will be that far-fetched that C.A.I.R. or another terrorist front group won't push the bar one day soon and try to get that neighborhood Applebee's closed during Ramadan?

And when do you think the first legal case will come up against serving alcohol in an establishment that serves muslims?

Yes, this story was about Somalia and if the restaurant operators fight the ban by the islamists, they would probably face arrest or beheading or a public flogging but in America, the islamists have utilized the soft jihad version of punishment - the U.S. legal system.

And if you think I'm smoking something, I ask you to look back about six months ago when C.A.I.R. in Michigan openly criticized Barack Obama for not coming out in defense of muslim-Americans. That was not a fluke - they were sending a message to our possible next President that he better hop on the bandwagon of appeasement and accomodation. Or else.

Somalia: Islamist Fighters Destroy Daily Restaurants in the Ramadan

Islamist fighters have forced several restaurants to close for Ramadan in middle Shabelle because it would "violate the sanctity" of the month.
Authorities said serving daily meals are contrary to the order of Ramadan and it has been blocked the opening of restaurants during daylight hours during the month of fasting.

Several daily restaurants in the Ramadan have also been detained by the Islamic fighters.
The commander of Islamist fighters in Maxaas area where the incident happened Ali Bile has made it known that no-one will be permitted to violate the sanctity of the month.
"We will not forgive anyone who violates our religion and sanctity of Ramadan" Bile said.
The start of the ninth and holiest month in the Muslim calendar is determined by the sighting of the new moon, which means Muslims in various countries begin Ramadan at dawn one different days.

Followers are required to abstain from food, drink and sex from dawn to dusk -- and ideally violence -- during the lunar month while gorging on sunset "iftar" meals rendered difficult for many by the global food crisis.

Pakistani Government Suspends Military Action Against Taliban - For Ramadan

Good grief. These guys truly ARE slow learners, aren't they? Why didn't the government of Pakistan call up Maliki over in Iraq and ask, "Yo Dude, do these terrorist types pack things up during Ramadan?" Hahaha. Anyway, here's part of the report out of Zee News:

The Pakistan government on Saturday announced that it would suspend military operations against the Taliban in the country's northwestern tribal areas in view of the holy Islamic month of Ramzan but warned that any action by the militants would meet with a firm response. Rehman Malik, who functions as the Interior Minister, said operations against militants by the army and law enforcement agencies would be suspended between August 31 and the second day of the Islamic festival of Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the culmination of Ramzan."This move should not be considered as a sign of weakness on the part of the governmentIf there is any action (by the militants) against the security forces, a firm response will be made," he told reporters.

Now, Ramadan apparently starts on September 2nd and so perhaps I should start a pool here at Holger Awakens where readers can put in their guess as to how long it will be before the Taliban take out about 30 Paki soldiers or bomb a girl's school DURING Ramadan!

It just amazes me how people in that part of the world just can't put a face of evil on these Taliban minions. I guess a few more hundred deaths might get the Pakistani government a little closer to understanding what we already know.

Pak Govt suspends military operations against Taliban

Lahore, Aug 30: The Pakistan government on Saturday announced that it would suspend military operations against the Taliban in the country's northwestern tribal areas in view of the holy Islamic month of Ramzan but warned that any action by the militants would meet with a firm response. The holy month of Ramzan is expected to begin in Pakistan on September two or three after the sighting of the moon. The Pakistan Army and paramilitary forces are currently engaged in operations against Taliban fighters in the tribal Bajaur Agency and the scenic Swat valley in the North West Frontier Province. A total of 562 militants had been killed in the operations so far, Malik said.He made it clear that there would be no ceasefire and that the security forces would only suspend their operations against the militants. The suspension was being done only for the month of Ramzan, he said. The government "reserves the right to reinitiate law enforcement actions and military operations" if the militants begin regrouping or carry out any attacks on the security forces, he said.
