Reuters Conjures Up "Story" of Afghan Womens' "Outrage" Over European Burqa Bans

As most regular readers know, here at Holger Awakens, I refuse to link to Reuters articles due to their long history of being tolerant and supportive of islamic terrorists, but today I have to make an exception to that ... in order for me to help prove the case of just how this news outlet operates FOR the terrorists.

This article, from Reuters, basically takes a random "emails" from a women supposedly in Afghanistan and turns their opinion into what is supposed to be the stance of all women in that country. Now, first of all, I believe these emails is completely bogus - it wasn't written by Afghan women out of the blue - this, in my view, is a story written by female Afghanistani employees of Reuters. They also come up with comments from an Afghan student and a former lawmaker to help substantiate this absurd position. Secondly, let's look at the inconsistencies of this article:

Karokhail is one of many Afghan women who see a double standard in efforts by some European nations to outlaw face veils and burqas -- a move they say restricts a Muslim woman's choice in countries that otherwise make a fuss about personal rights.
"Democratic countries should not become dictatorships and Muslim women should not be deprived from all kinds of opportunities. It should be their choice," said Karokhail.
"Otherwise, what is the difference between forcing women to wear a burqa and forcing them not to? It is discrimination."

Okay, now you see how Reuters is trying to make this huge point by represntative women that the West should make wearing a burqa a choice, LIKE THEY HAVE, because even in Afghanistan, they DON'T HAVE TO wear a burqa or a hijab.....but wait, let's read another's remarks closely:

Even one of Afghanistan's most outspoken and controversial women, former lawmaker Malalai Joya, is a staunch opponent of efforts to ban burqas or tight headscarves called hijabs.

"As much as I am against imposing the hijab on women, I am also against its total ban. It should be regarded a personal matter of every human being and it should be up to women if they prefer to wear it or not," she told Reuters by email.
Okay...now here is the money line of the whole article:

She dislikes burqas, but wears it anyways as a cloak of protection from warlords she has been critical of in the past.

Cha Ching. This whole propaganda article falls apart into a million pieces when you focus on that one line - we have a woman in Afghanistan who is supposedly critical of a burqa ban in places like France but then admits she is basically forced into wearing one in Afghanistan?

Leave it to Reuters to bring this kind of article to the pages of the internet. There is probably no greater example of the horrific abuse of women in general than that of Afghanistan when it was ruled by the Taliban. The Taliban treat women like cattle, like dogs and here in the 21st century, an organization like Reuters decides to ignore that abuse, that mutilation, that murdering to further their political views on readers. To put it another way, this would have been like Reuters doing an article at the very end of World War II of European Jewish women saying that the captured Nazis really weren't so bad. What you have to realize is just WHY Reuters put this article up...and believe me, it's got nothing to do with what Afghan women really want to see in regards to having to wears burqas or hijabs.

You see, Reuters is a British company that has for a long time been supportive of the multicultural dogma that has turned Britain into a shell of its former self - and at the same time, we are seeing some serious pushes by France to ban burqas in that country. Reuters is appalled by the French seeking a ban and Reuters is disgusted by the Swiss ban on minarets and Reuters is disgusted by the Danish and Swedish cartoons. So, instead of Reuters just doing an op-ed on why they support the islamization of Europe, they try to veil their position in bogus "reporting" like this.

So be prepared America. If you think the MSM in America is in the tank for the Obama administration and the far Left in this country, just wait til you see the number they will do on us in the future. Brace yourself for newscasts by Katie Couric showcasing hate crimes against American muslims. Brace yourself for special reports by Brian Williams on discrimination of islamic students in America's schools. And brace yourself for Diane Sawyer's special news segment on "Islamophobia in America." It will become a weekly occurence on your very own television.

European push to ban burqas appalls Afghan women

(Reuters) - A firm believer in women's rights, the only thing Afghan lawmaker Shinkai Karokhail finds as appalling as being forced to wear a burqa is a law banning it.

France, which has the largest Muslim population in Europe, as well as Italy and Belgium are considering proposals to ban all-enveloping burqas and face veils called niqabs. Many in the West see them as a symbol of the subjugation of women.

In France, government and opposition lawmakers call burqas an affront to the country's secular traditions, though an advisory board has said a banning them may be unlawful.

In deeply conservative Afghanistan, the Taliban made wearing a burqa mandatory for all women during their five-year rule that ended with the U.S-led invasion in 2001. It is still widely worn in the Muslim country, especially in rural areas and the south.

Shukriya Ahmadi, a 35-year-old Afghan government employee, has ditched the burqa since the days of being forced to wear it during Taliban rule. Still, she has only scorn for Western governments seeking to outlaw them

"This shows they use democracy, freedom of religion and human rights issues only when it suits their purposes," Ahmadi said.

PUNISH THE MEN

She suspects burqa legislation will only help a resurgent Taliban in Afghanistan gain support from outraged Muslims and win recruits for their insurgency campaign against the Afghan government and U.S.-led NATO forces.

University student Farida, 20, is another Afghan woman who says the move smacks of a double standard.

"I have never worn a burqa and do not like it," she said. "But why would the West, which calls itself a supporter of democracy take such a decision? I am perplexed and sad."

Even one of Afghanistan's most outspoken and controversial women, former lawmaker Malalai Joya, is a staunch opponent of efforts to ban burqas or tight headscarves called hijabs.

She dislikes burqas, but wears it anyways as a cloak of protection from warlords she has been critical of in the past.

"As much as I am against imposing the hijab on women, I am also against its total ban. It should be regarded a personal matter of every human being and it should be up to women if they prefer to wear it or not," she told Reuters by email.

"It is against the very basic element of democracy to restrict a human being from wearing the clothes of his/her choice. These governments better punish those men who force women to wear hijab, but if any woman wears it out of her own wish, there should be no ban on it."

A Statement from Holger on the WikiLeaks Video of the Apache Attack That Killed 2 Reuters Employees

Okay, the internet is abuzz about a now released video of an Apache crew's strike on insurgents in Baghdad in 2007 in which two Iraqi employees of Reuters were killed. I will NOT post the video here but will link to it below at LiveLeak. I will not disgrace this blog with the bullshit anti-American, anti-troops propaganda from the likes of WikiLeaks and Reuters.

Here's my statement on this controversial video:

I watched the video and I saw two Reuters employees (or so they were identified at the time) walking with a group of Iraqi men in which at least two of the members of that group were carrying AK-47's. There can be no question that there were at least two insurgents in that group with AK-47's. At the same time, when you hear the Apache crew call out the "rpg" - if you watch, you will see that weapon being readied and in the subsequent frames you will see that person peering around the corner of the building. This was a viable target for U.S. forces - a group of men with AK-47's in an area that has seen recent fire IS A VIABLE TARGET. Further, this spin put out by Reuters and WikiLeaks is typical of those suspect organizations - organizations that have both been investigated for fraudulent behavior. Don't buy the bullshit coming out of this video, people.

I want to just expound on something here. As most of you know, I will not link to Reuters here at this blog unless the story is sublinked at an outlet like Breitbart. I NEVER link directly to Reuters because that news service is a confirmed supporter of islamic terror groups worldwide. I might remind all of you that Reuters was the news service that purposely doctored photographs of supposed bombings by Israelis in Lebanon - in other words, they manipulated photos to make bombings by Israeli air craft appear worse than they were. Reuters was nailed for this illicit behavior - here's a reminder of the journalist integrity of Reuters from Zombietime.

Thus, it doesn't surprise me one bit that two Reuters employees were gathered in a group of insurgents and for that participation, they were killed. You hang with the enemy, you sometimes die.

As for WikiLeaks - there have been numerous investigations of that organization across Europe, America and Australia...CRIMINAL investigations, mind you.

By the way, here's the link to the WikiLeaks video at LiveLeak: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=42b_1270489420

If you think this is legitimate spin, I can direct you to about 100 Pallywood videos made by Hamas and about 3,000 made by jihadists for LiveLeak.

Reuters Tries To Stir Up Trouble - Conflicting News Reports Paint "Israeli" Attacks On Hamas In Gaza

Okay, our little friends at Reuters are up to their shenanigans again as they once again, pick up the flag for Hamas and try to propagandize against the Israelis. What I'm going to do here is show you two news releases from Reuters today...BOTH on the same day. The first is here from Reuters. The second release is here from Reuters Alertnet. Israel has denied there was any attack and of course, Reuters only believes the scumbag terrorists in Gaza. But I ask you...notice WHO Reuters is using for their sources for this story...it's Hamas. Instead of Reuters killing their first story, they just add a second one and add a little clarification in the body of the story. Take a look at the highlighted sections to see the jihadi spin coming from the #1 Terror-supporting news media in the world:

Israeli air strike kills 2 Hamas gunmen in Gaza - medics

GAZA, Sept 1 (Reuters) - An Israeli air strike killed two Hamas gunmen who were on guard duty in the Gaza Strip's northern frontier on Tuesday, the Palestinian Islamist group and medical officials said. Israel had no immediate comment on the incident, which would constitute a breach of an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire that ended its December-January war with Hamas. Palestinian rocket salvoes since have drawn mostly limited Israeli reprisals.

Hamas says Israel kills 2 Gaza gunmen, Israel denies

GAZA, Sept 1 (Reuters) - Hamas said Israeli army shelling killed two of its gunmen in the northern Gaza Strip on Tuesday but Israel denied involvement in the incident.
The gunmen east of the town of Jabalya came under fire from a tank posted on the nearby Israeli border, the Palestinian Islamist faction said. Hamas had earlier described the attack as an Israeli air strike.
An Israeli military spokeswoman said: "There was no attack by the Israel Defence Forces in the Gaza Strip."
Israel and Hamas have mostly observed an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire that ended their December-January war in Gaza.
There have been sporadic Palestinian short-range rocket attacks on the Jewish state since, often carried out by non-Hamas factions. Israel has generally responded with air strikes against infrastructure, causing few casualties.
Hamas shuns Israel but has signalled interest in a long-term truce. Egypt and Germany are trying to broker Hamas's release of an Israeli soldier seized in a 2006 border raid, in exchange for hundreds of Palestinians held in Israel's jails.

Reuters, A Tool For Terrorists

It has been documented before just how much Reuters is in the pocket of islamic terrorists across the world - it wasn't that long ago the world faced the realization that Reuters had doctored photographs in Lebanon trying to show bias towards the Israeli attacks on Hezbollah. Now, Reuters is again showing its bias towards Israel. And it is showing that it is a puppet of Jihad using a Western organizational name. Reuters is basically the islamists' propaganda office in the West.

I want to dissect a Reuters story that is out today here. I will be excerpting a number of pieces of that story and will also excerpt it in its entirety at the end of this posting. Let's look at the title of the Reuters story:

Israel reclosure of crossings dampens Gazans' hopes

Okay, that's pretty clear isn't it? Reuters is saying that Israel is at fault because of closing Gaza crossings again. If you read that title without knowing anything of the past week and a half, you are going to say that Israel is at fault, aren't you?

Next:

Israel responded to Thursday's rocket attack by again closing its border crossing with Gaza on Friday, dampening hopes among Gazans that a ceasefire between Hamas and the Jewish state might ease an Israeli-led blockade.

Notice how Reuters decided NOT to write this by saying: After Hamas' rocket attacks on Israel on Thursday, Israel had no choice but to again close Gaza borders.

Next:

But, the Israeli army's killing of a top militant commander in the occupied West Bank, sporadic rocket attacks and periodic Israeli closures of Gaza's crossings have strained the truce.

This is incredible. Reuters emphasizes "Israeli" twice in this sentence and mentions Hamas or Islamic Jihad or terrorists or militants NOT ONCE in this sentence. If you reread that sentence, you might even assume that ISRAEL fired the "sporadic rocket attacks."

Next:

"What came in was very limited and did not meet what is required," livestock merchant Saber Abu Haleeb said of the amount of food supplies and goods Israel has allowed into the territory since the truce went into effect.
Israel cut back sharply on the supply of goods into the Gaza Strip a year ago, after Hamas seized the territory from forces loyal to President Mahmoud Abbas's more secular Fatah faction.
Responding to Israel's decision to reclose the crossings, Hamas said on Friday it was suspending indirect talks to secure the release of an Israeli soldier kidnapped by Hamas-led militants two years ago.

Again, Reuters goes on ad nauseum about the Israeli blockades and closings. They even go so far as to mention the Hamas capture of Shalit but do not ever mention the reason the crossings were closed and why supplies were halted.

Summary:

Here's what has happened in this farce of a truce inked between Hamas and Israel. I believe it was on the fourth day of the truce, a rocket attack upon Israel was fired from Gaza at the same time that the Israelis had eliminated a wanted terrorist leader in the West Bank. When the rocket attack happened, Hamas said nothing. Later, they blamed the rocket attack on another faction in Gaza and even arrested those involved. A DAY LATER, Hamas and other terrorists said the rockets had been fired in retaliation for the Israel killing of the terror leader. So, in other words, Hamas had no way of covering themselves for violating the truce until they made up this fairy tale a day later. And the Israeli action took place in the WEST BANK! If the Israelis had killed a Hezbollah jihadist trying to cross Israel's northern border, would Hamas have used that as justification?

But none of this is reported by Reuters. Reuters is the western version of Al Jezeera. They are a tool. They are a puppet. They are a disgrace to journalism.

One more thing. When you look at the full story below, notice the name who wrote this "story".... you see it? .... "By Nidal al-Mughrabi"

Israel reclosure of crossings dampens Gazans' hopes

By Nidal al-Mughrabi

GAZA (Reuters) - Israel responded to Thursday's rocket attack by again closing its border crossing with Gaza on Friday, dampening hopes among Gazans that a ceasefire between Hamas and the Jewish state might ease an Israeli-led blockade.
A truce brokered by Egypt on June 19 calls on militants in the Gaza Strip to halt rocket fire in return for Israel gradually lifting its blockade of the Hamas-ruled territory.
But, the Israeli army's killing of a top militant commander in the occupied West Bank, sporadic rocket attacks and periodic Israeli closures of Gaza's crossings have strained the truce.
Like thousands of Gazans who had hoped the ceasefire would offer respite from the stifling blockade, 60-year-old Kefaya Abu-Odah is angry at Gazan militants who have been breaching the truce, prompting Israel to shut the border crossings.
"They (militants) do not want calm and neither does Israel," she said at a cattle market in the northern Gaza Strip where she sought to sell her two sheep.
She doubted the ceasefire would last.
Rocket fire against Israel is rarely criticized by Palestinians, who view such attacks as a legitimate response to Israel's economic blockade of Gaza and its military operations against militant groups in the occupied West Bank.
Israel maintains its cordon is a response to rocket attacks against its civilians and has said its crackdown on militants in the West Bank was necessary to stop attacks against Israelis.
"I want to sell the sheep and earn some money so I can live. I can't even find food for my sheep," she said, adding that 60 members of her family shared a small building in the costal territory, home to some 1.5 million aid-dependent Palestinians.
Others at the market complained the ceasefire, now just over two weeks old, has done little to lift Gaza's shattered economy.
Saki Abu al-Ward, a heart patient, said gunmen behind the rocket attacks wanted to sabotage the truce, which he had hoped would allow him to travel to Egypt to receive better treatment.
"We hoped crossings would open and especially the Rafah crossing through which patients like me could go for treatment," said the 56-year-old.
