Thanksgiving 2013 - Some Serve All

From SEJ:

A Thank You To Our Troops, Past and Present

I think it is important for all of us to think about the fact that without the soldiers that serve the United States, to protect us, we would not have the lives we have. Every time you take your child to the park or the beach or even an amusement park you have the freedom to do so because soldiers and their families sacrifice daily.

Your ability to sleep safely at night, Tweet, go to the movies and even go to the grocery store where you can buy all the food you want comes at a cost. Without our soldier’s sacrifices you wouldn’t have freedom, I wouldn’t have freedom and our children wouldn’t have freedom either. Our lives would be completely different.

It is a holiday weekend and one typically enjoyed by families, but I encourage you think about our soldiers past and present. Thank you to our troops!

Great News! The Muslim Brotherhood Will Be Part of NYC's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, family, football and ... Sharia Law?

The story comes from The Clarion Project.

Islamists to Join NYC Thanksgiving Day Parade

The Muslim Brotherhood, an extremist organization bent on implementing sharia law, plans to join NYC parade.

The New York City Thanksgiving Day Parade will feature marchers demonstrating against the Egyptian government’s crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood, according to a U.S.-based group linked to the Islamist movement.

On November 25, the Facebook page of Egyptian Americans for Democracy and Human Rights posted an announcement about “R4abia in Thanksgiving Parade” at 5:00 AM at 56th St. and 6th.

The announcement includes a photo of a large inflatable turkey with the “R4abia” sign on it.

The “R4abia” sign is an expression of solidarity with pro-Muslim Brotherhood demonstrators that clashed with the Egyptian security forces on August 14 near Cairo’s Rabia al-Adawiya mosque.

The Facebook announcement has been shared over 600 times and “liked” over 1,000 times. The organization’s page is full of pictures, videos and statements supportive of the Muslim Brotherhood and former Egyptian President Morsi.

The President of Egyptian Americans for Democracy and Human Rights (EADHR) is Hany Saqr. An Egyptian newspaper recently identified him as a Muslim Brotherhood operative in America.

A 1992 U.S. Muslim Brotherhood phonebook identified Saqr as a member of its Executive Office. A secret U.S. Muslim Brotherhood strategy memo written the previous year said its “work in America as a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within…”

The EADHR website does not list its leadership, but another reported leader and co-founder is Shaker Elsayed, the imam of the radical Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Virginia. He has spoken at EADHR events as a representative. He was taped preaching armed jihad at a Virginia high school in January.

In August, EADHR held a pro-Brotherhood rally in Washington D.C., where chants like “Morsi is my president” were repeatedly heard. An official from the Muslim Brotherhood’s political wing in Egypt, the Freedom and Justice Party, spoke at the event. The party featured the event on its YouTube channel.

The receptionist at the event’s press conference was secretly recorded explicitly saying, “This is a Muslim Brotherhood meeting.” The conference featured Mahdi Bray, another Islamist with a resume filled with Brotherhood affiliations.

Another co-founder of EADHR is Akram Elzend. The event was organized with help from the Muslim American Society, which federal prosecutors say was “founded as the overt arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in America.” Elzend is an official for the Muslim American Society’s branch in Washington D.C.

Khaled Lamada is another co-founder. He was also identified as a Brotherhood operative by the aforementioned Egyptian newspaper. He endorsed the Egyptian presidential campaign of Mohammed Morsi in June 2012.

Lamada who is also Vice Chairman of the board of directors for Islamic Relief USA and was the co-chairman of the annual conference of the Islamic Circle of North America and MAS. He also was a board member of the Islamic Society of Bay Ridge and outreach director for the New Brunswick Islamic Center.

Lamada is also Vice Chairman of the board of directors for Islamic Relief USA and was the co-chairman of the annual conference of the Islamic Circle of North America and MAS. He also was a board member of the Islamic Society of Bay Ridge and outreach director for the New Brunswick Islamic Center.

Most Americans watch the Thanksgiving Day parade to celebrate the country’s history. This year, they’ll also be given a dose of Islamist propaganda from Muslim Brotherhood supporters.

Happy Thanksgiving

A Soldier's Thanksgiving Day Prayer

I am sitting outside my tent this evening
And as I look at the stars in the sky
I can not help but think of the family back home
And tears slowly fall from my eye

Will all the folks back home be remembering me?
Will they think of me as they carve that big bird?
Will they bow their heads this Thanksgiving,
And say a prayer after the news they have heard?

Will they pray for a peace to this country?
Will they ask God to help these people understand?
Will they be willing to say a prayer for their freedom,
Something we seem to take for granted in our own homeland.

Will they thank God they have a house to live in?
Will they thank him for the food that they eat?
Will they remember to thank God for the clothes they wear?
Cause over here many have nothing on their own feet.

Will the families of those who have been taken
Be remembered in prayer and an imaginary hug,
Will the sorrow of losing a son or daughter
Be enough to give someone's heart a big tug.

You see, I am just one of those fellow soldiers
Who stood up when his division was called;
And I like so many others before me
had to share the news of my duty to a family that bawled.

But I am here fighting for our nation's freedom
To bring a freedom and a peace to this country as well;
And I can tell you that being in a war doing battle
Is more like I am living in the middle of hell.

But I still remembered that today is Thanksgiving
I bowed my head and thanked the Lord for what I had.
I asked him to watch over my homeland
And give a special watchfulness over my mom and my dad.

So on this evening as the stars shine so brightly
Can you maybe bow your head for a moment for me?
Ask God to help keep us strong here.
And ask him to help us forever keep America free.

And when you bless your turkey and all of the trimmings
Remember to say a quick and simple prayer.
Just ask God to bless all the brave soldiers
Who are fighting for our freedom no matter where.

Obama's Thanksgiving Address...A Free Piece of Pie To Anyone That Hears a Single Mention of G_d

Watch this video of President Barack Hussein Obama's Thanksgiving Day address to the nation and I ask you if he mentions one time that we should be thankful to G_d for the many blessings He has bestowed upon this nation.

Obama states that the very first Thanksgiving was a "celebration of community" ....well, Mr. President, I ask you to view the painting below and ask you what exactly that guy is doing who is standing up.

Please hold each man and woman serving in our military today close to your mighty chest and protect them. Let them know we love them, appreciate them and honor them. Thank you, Lord, for blessing us with the finest warriors on the planet.

Amen.

From DOD Live:

Thanksgiving Dinner for the Troops on Deployment

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Service members deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as U.S. State Department employees serving there, will be able to savor the familiar taste of home on Thanksgiving Day thanks to the efforts of Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support workers here.

More than 270 dining facilities have received their food deliveries and are postured to serve the special Thanksgiving holiday fare.

Deliveries included 168,000 pounds of turkey, 37,800 pounds of stuffing, 93,876 pounds of beef, 43,560 pounds of sweet potatoes, 24,000 pounds of shrimp, 34,560 pies and 25,800 pounds of cranberry sauce, along with other holiday treats.

“America’s military is a special group of heroic men and women who continually make sacrifices for our freedom,” said Navy Rear Adm. David Baucom, DLA Troop Support commander. “It is our duty and covenant to show our gratitude by providing them the very best our country has to offer for the holidays.”

As the U.S. military mission winds down in Iraq, the State Department has been increasing its personnel there and using DOD’s food supply chain infrastructure. As a part of the arrangement, State Department employees and service members eat together in the same dining facilities.

DLA Troop Support has a team of employees dedicated to ensuring that deployed service members can experience a memorable holiday meal each Thanksgiving.
As a DOD combat support agency, DLA provides the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, other federal agencies, and joint and allied forces with a variety of logistics, acquisition and technical services. The agency sources and provides nearly 100 percent of the consumable items America’s military forces need to operate, from food, fuel and energy, to uniforms, medical supplies, and construction and barrier equipment. DLA also supplies more than 80 percent of the military’s spare parts.

With headquarters at Fort Belvoir, Va., DLA has about 27,000 employees worldwide and supports more than 2,178 weapon systems.

Thanksgiving Day - 2011 . . . Give Thanks To the Lord!

Thanksgiving Prayer

Heavenly Father, on Thanksgiving Day
We bow our hearts to You and pray.
We give You thanks for all You've done
Especially for the gift of Jesus, Your Son.
For beauty in nature, Your glory we see
For joy and health, friends and family,
For daily provision, Your mercy and care
These are the blessings You graciously share.
So today we offer this response of praise
With a promise to follow You all of our days.

A Thanksgiving Day Prayer

A Thanksgiving Day Prayer

Lord, so often times, as any other day
When we sit down to our meal and pray

We hurry along and make fast the blessing
Thanks, amen. Now please pass the dressing

We're slaves to the olfactory overload
We must rush our prayer before the food gets cold

But Lord, I'd like to take a few minute more
To really give thanks to what I'm thankful for

For my family, my health, a nice soft bed
My friends, my freedom, a roof over my head

I'm thankful right now to be surrounded by those
Whose lives touch me more than they'll ever possibly know

Thankful Lord, that You've blessed me beyond measure
Thankful that in my heart lives life's greatest treasure

That You, dear Jesus, reside in that place
And I'm ever so grateful for Your unending grace

So please, heavenly Father, bless this food You've provided
And bless each and every person invited

Amen!

Oh...and a Happy Thanksgiving To Democrats In America

Obama Takes a Break From Traveling the World Each and Every Day , Stays Home and Phones the Troops On Thanksgiving

Each and every single week, President Barack Hussein Obama is someplace other than the White House - you see, this President we elected doesn't like rolling his sleeves up and working at being President. He'd rather make speeches. He'd rather spend time with Muslims. He'd rather stand before foreign crowds on foreign soil and degrade America's accomplishments. This President has jetted around the globe more than any other President in history, yet today, on Thanksgiving....he decided to stay home at the White House and simply phone some military members in Iraq and Afghanistan.

See the photo above? That was Thanksgiving for President Bush - serving Thanksgiving dinner to troops in Iraq. That was a man who actually cared for the troops - a man who knew what it was like for our military to be away from their families during the Holidays. So while our troops protect us all today in Iraq and Afghanistan, Barack Hussein Obama gave an AT&T shout out to them from the safety and warmth of the White House. I haven't checked for sure but I'm guessing that next week Obama will be off again to another foreign country to speak about how hypocritical it felt for him today to be in America...the land of aggression and excess.

From the article at Breitbart.

Obama places Thanksgiving calls to troops overseas

Associated Press (AP) - WASHINGTON President Barack Obama has called 10 members of the armed services stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan to wish them and their families a happy Thanksgiving.

The White House says Obama thanked two each from the Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marine Corps and Navy for their service and sacrifice. He made a similar series of phone calls last year.

The calls came as the president, his wife Michelle and their daughters Malia and Sasha spent the holiday at the White House.

On Wednesday, Obama pardoned Apple and Cider, two 21-week-old, 45-pound turkeys raised on a farm outside Modesto, Calif.

Thank You Holger Readers

On this Thanksgiving Day, I wanted to take a moment to thank all of the readers of Holger Awakens. Your coming here and checking out what I have put up means the world to me. The commenters are all appreciated ... no matter what side of the fence you are on - I have personally grown from all of the great insights left by commenters here, please keep it going!

Today marks the two year anniversary of Holger Awakens ... what a journey it has been. I started this blog when I saw that the counter-jihad efforts against the evils of radical islam were fragmenting, wavering and submitting. I vowed to fight this evil each and every day with no compromise. As many of you know, I then found myself needing to cover one of the most dramatic wars in American history - the War in Iraq and I vowed to grasp the mantle and try to do our fighting men and women, our heroes, proud. And I have tried to do the same for the War in Afghanistan.

Each and every day our way of life, our Faith, our Country and our freedom is under attack by the minions of Islam and when that attack bleeds into the very politics of America...well, I have to fight on all fronts.

Through it all, I've tried to remain loyal to the original goals and I vow to continue to do that. I'm sure I'd get more hits and attention here if I put up more Michael Jackson vids and gossip about Hollywood starlets but that ain't gonna happen here.

Again, I want to thank all the loyal followers of Holger Awakens who have been here since the start, those that joined along the way and the ones that just got here for the first time today.

G_d willing...the third year will bring even better reasons for you all to stop by here. The goals remain the same - expose radical Islam for what it is....Evil and The Enemy.

Happy Thanksgiving: President Lincoln's Thanksgiving Proclamation (1863)

Full proclamation is here.

President Abraham Lincoln's Thanksgiving Proclamation

It has seemed to me fit and proper that they should be solemnly, reverently, and gratefully acknowledged, as with one heart and one voice, by the whole American people. I do therefore invite my fellow-citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next as a day of thanksgiving and praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the heavens. And I recommend to them that while offering up the ascriptions justly due to Him for such singular deliverances and blessings they do also, with humble penitence for our national perverseness and disobedience, commend to His tender care all those who have become widows, orphans, mourners, or sufferers in the lamentable civil strife in which we are unavoidably engaged, and fervently implore the imposition of the Almighty hand to heal the wounds of the nation and to restore it, as soon as may be consistent with the divine purpose, to the full enjoyment of peace, harmony, tranquillity, and union.
